Chapter 1
Chapter 1, Stranger.
I noticed that in this world there is an unbalanced center, I was the cause of this. There are laws in this world that my parents broke when they had me. One of the laws was made for every supernatural. That law was to not mate with a human and my parents broke it, for a punishment they were sentenced to death.
I was only five years old when they got captured, leaving me to fend for myself. It wasn't easy but I had my shape shifting which saved my life. I hunted like an animal, I survived like one, I feel like the forest is my home.
Since I'm only half shape shifter, I can only control and turn into certain animals. It doesn't bother me that I'm only half but I am bothered that I'm the only one of my kind. It makes me feel like I'm special, which I don't want to be or I wouldn't be living in a forest.
Yes I do live in the forest but not in a cave, I built myself a shack that has a furnace and a bed. It's all I could ask for, other than the quiet peaceful nights which make me think about my life. Those nights I wish I had someone beside me keeping me warm and safe, but I haven't found my mate yet. You have to be a certain age to have a mate and I'm over it, I'm twenty-five.
I should of found my mate five years ago but obviously I'm not going to since I never leave the forest. It could be anyone and that's what I'm scared of, I definitely don't want a human as a mate.
I sigh as I shift out of my fox to enter my home, naked I walked in and placed down a bird I killed along my way on my table. I walked over to the sink to wash my hands and mouth from the blood, even though I live in the forest I keep myself clean as best as I can. I then walk to my mirror above my night stand to see how my hair was, I haven't brushed it in days so I should probably do that.
A few minutes go by and I'm cooking my supper and continuing my netting to capture fish. It's a new way of me getting food and I'm excited about it, I learnt it when I went into town and saw men doing it to their river.
Suddenly I heard something rush passed my door, I look up. I wait as my water is boiling for my chicken, but I'm too busy wondering what just passed my door. I'm not going to wait in here and let something in my territory wonder. I get up and shift into my hummingbird, I fly through the crack of my door and saw nothing there.
But I could smell someone, a male. I fly closer to the ground and shift into my fox to get a better smell, the sent started running towards the bushes in the distance. I sniff the air and I noticed something in the sent, it wasn't human it smelt like a wolf. Once that went through my nostril I shift into my wolf as well, I'm going to now fight for my territory.
I hate werewolves, they always seem to find me once and a while and challenge me for my territory. Mostly they are rouge's but this one is different, he smelt fimilar and it made me wonder more than fight. But I can't lose my ground, I can't let the sent distract me.
I start to approach the wolf, I knew he was out there behind the bushes so I started snarling at it. But a few seconds later I could feel a warm, tall figure behind me with his breath grazing against my white fur. I turn around to see the wolf not in the bushes but now behind me, with me not even noticing.
I immediately turn around and leaped at him, but his size was so big that my wolf didn't even make him budge. I'm in trouble now, I've never seen a wolf this big in my territory. I stand back and made eye contact with this beast, his entire figure is black with golden eyes. As a wolf I was stunned with his markings, his looks.
Fine if my wolf won't do anything, how about my lion? I usually don't shift into my lion but this is not a normal wolf. I have no other choice, I slowly shift as I rise slightly taller than him. I was surprised by how big my lion was since it's been a while since I've seen myself in this form. I began growling at him to try to scare him but he didn't budge, he was still in the same position.
I then ran at him as the entire time we locked eyes, as each step I took made me shake. His eyes were just petrifiing into my eyes and he didn't seem like he wanted to fight, his pupils were big. Inches away I stop my tracks and stood face to face with him.
I was confused, why isn't a wolf this big not fighting me? Why doesn't he want my territory? He then started to inch closer to my face with his snout, but I hissed at him. Does he want something from me? Does he know who I am?
While I was gazing into his golden eyes, I felt something...a spark. Something didn't feel right with this wolf, he seemed too confident with me in his presence. He didn't seem to care how big I was, or how I can tear him from limb to limb.
After I thought hours went by, he moved slightly to his right with him walking away. I watched him leave as he didn't seem to be an enemy, how come I've never seen him before? He's been around here for sure, but why is he so friendly? I've never come across someone so big and not use his power, especially towards me.
After thinking about that strange wolf, I began hearing bubble noises from my house. I just realized I left my stove on, with me rushing into my home I could still feel his eyes Pierce through me, as though he was trying to tell me something.
