The Talk
Dating Drama: Part 1: The Talk
World renowned teen hero Kim Possible, and her partner/best friend, Ron Stoppable, had just made it back to the airport from their way in Yammanuchi, Japan. They had just finished dealing with Monkey Fist, saved the Sensi of the Yammanuchi Ninja School, and they now have boarded the plane and started their journey back home. While the mission was a success, there were still a few things the team of heroes needed to get of their chests. Ever since meeting Yori for the first time, Kim had this strange feeling of jealousy that she didn’t want to admit to anyone because it would suggest that she had feelings for Ron. Now that they were alone, Kim had the time to sort everything out with her best friend. She peeked into Ron’s pocket and saw his naked mole rat, Rufus, was sound asleep.
“Hey Ron?” Kim asked, tapping him on the shoulder to gain his attention.
“Yeah, KP?” Ron asked with that adorkable goofy smile that Kim loved sometimes.
Kim took a deep breath and sighed. She really liked Ron as a friend, and had no objections to him dating other girls. Kim was alright with Tara and Zita liking him, but Yori for some reason was a different story. But, she wanted Ron to be happy, and that was all that mattered. How could she find a way to put it together in the right words? “Look, I’m sorry that I’ve been acting totally random with Yori. And I’m totally OK with the fact that you kept that ninja school secret from me. It’s just...I was kind of...” Kim started, but stuttered at finding the right words, but Ron already knew them.
“Gelling over Yori?” Ron asked with a smug smile, making Kim gasp.
“Is it that obvious?” Kim asked in a hushed tone.
“Kim, you basically attacked her.” Ron said with an angry tone, making Kim blush. Now she was feeling more guilty than ever.
“Look, I have nothing against her. I get it! You like her! I was just worried about you!” Kim said, trying to explain her feelings some more. She then hung her head down in shame and sadness. “I just want you to be happy. That’s all I care about. And if she makes you happy, then I’m happy.”
Ron then smiled at his best friend, knowing that no matter what, he’ll always be happy, even being right beside her. “Hey, no damage. We’re all friends here. And I’m grateful that you’re happy that someone likes me. If you’re happy, then I’m happy.”
Kim smiled at her best friend, wondering what has she done to deserve him. “Then let’s make a pact. No matter what happens during the rest of the school year, if either of us ever gets a real boyfriend or girlfriend, then we’ll be OK with it, as long as we’re all happy.” Kim said.
“I think I can live with that. Sounds like a badical pact to me.” Ron said, making Kim giggle.
“So what do you say? Friends?” Kim asked, extending her arm out for a handshake.
“Friends.” Ron said with a smile, shaking his best friend’s hand. They then started to relax as the plane continued on it’s way to Middleton, Colorado.
It was around 11 PM when Kim and Ron arrived back at Middleton, which is usually Kim’s curfew for missions. Kim was too tired to say goodnight to her parents as she went upstairs and flopped down onto her bed, ready for a peaceful slumber. Oh Ron, Kim thought to herself. I’m glad we had that talk. And as long as you’re happy with that special someone, then I’ll always be happy. After all, what girl wouldn’t want to like you anyway? You’re so unique. I don’t know what came over me this past week. I guess all this basically started when you spent time with Felix during Zombapoolza. And then there was that time when you didn’t save me from those mini sombreros when you spent time with Zita. But you always came through for me, and I always did the same for you. Sort of. Anyway, I hope we’re on equal terms. She then closed her eyes and began to fall asleep.
The next day, the morning sun shone through Kim’s window, giving her enough rhythm to wake up on her own. She then sat up and yawned. “Man, am I wide awake...” Kim moaned.
“You got that right.” A familiar voice chimed in. Kim’s eyes went wide as she realized who it was.
“Wade?” Kim asked, thinking it was her tech friend who runs her website. She checked her Kimmunicator, but the screen was off.
“Morning sleeping beauty.” Wade, in real life form, said as he walked up to Kim’s side, causing her to scream. “Sorry, did I scare you?”
“Yes!” Kim said. “Wade, what are you doing in my room?!” She then thought of something. “You are real, right?”
“In the true and live flesh.” Wade said with a smile. Kim smiled back at seeing her friend in true form. Wade spent a lot of time in his room, but recently during a mission involving Team Impossible, Wade got out of his room for the first time ever and helped Team Possible.
“It’s so great to see you!” Kim said, happily hugging the eleven year old, making him blush. “What are you doing here, anyway?”
“Oh, that. My parents heard about me leaving my room for the first time to help you guys with Team Impossible. They were so proud of me that they decided to finally take a vacation on their own for the first time in 6 years. They’ll be in Hawaii for two weeks.” Wade explained. “Anyway, they talked to your folks and they said I could stay with you while they’re gone.”
“Really? Well, OK. Great.” Kim said, getting up from her bed and heading into her closet to change into her regular clothes. Today was her blue sweater and blue pants.
“So, how did it go with Ron and Yori? Have you quit gellin over her?” Wade smirked, expecting Kim to yell at him, but Kim remained calm.
“Yeah. I did. And me and Ron came to an agreement.” Kim said, stepping out of her closet. “We promised to be happy with each other whenever we get a boyfriend or girlfriend. Hopefully, there won’t be more jealousy between me and him.”
“Good to know.” Wade said with a smile. “I don’t really get the whole dating game. That’s why I distract myself with my electronics and video games.” Kim smiled at that.
“Kimmie, Wade, time for breakfast!” Kim’s mother, brain surgeon, Anne Sarah Possible, called out from downstairs. Both of them headed downstairs and sat at the table across from Jim and Tim, Kim’s twin brothers, aka Tweebs.
“Morning mom. Thanks for the heads up on our special guest.” Kim said with a smirk.
“Sorry honey.” Anne said with a smile. “Wade’s parents just showed up last night while you were gone on your mission. Would you like some orange juice, Wade?”
“Sure thing, Mrs. Possible.” Wade replied, holding up his glass. Kim was happily chowing down on her pancakes and sausage, clearly in ecstasy. The only one who can cook like that and make Kim smile is Ron.
“Mom, these pancakes are so good.” Kim said with a smile.
“Oh, thanks. Wade helped out with breakfast this morning.” Anne said, making Kim smirk and Wade blush. “He even helped me out with slicing the grapefruits. It’s so nice to have a boy in the house who’s not a mischievous genius.”
“Hey! That was a shot at us, right?” Jim asked, thinking that their mother was talking about him and Tim.
’Yes, it was.” Kim happily smirked.
“Hey Wade, you wanna help us out with building some rockets when we get home from school today?” Jim asked happily.
“Boys, Wade’s our guest. And his mother has stated that you two are not to get him into any trouble with rocket fuel, after I tipped her of your experiments.” Anne said, sternly, making the Tweebs groan.
“Sorry guys.” Wade said with a sheepish smile. Then, Ron entered the household.
“Hey KP. Ready for...holy moley! Wade in the flesh, again?!” Ron asked in shock over seeing the real Wade again.
“Ron, chillax. It’s not like you haven’t seen him like this before.” Kim said. “Anyway, he’s staying with me while his parents are away in Hawaii.”
“Morning everyone.” James Timothy Possible, rocket scientist, said after coming into the kitchen. “Boy, that sure smells delicious honey.”
“Actually daddy, you can thank Wade as well. He helped.” Kim said.
“You cook?” Ron asked in shock.
“A little.” Wade said with a smile.
“Oh, that reminds me. James, I don’t have any bread for the boys sandwiches so I need you to stop by the market while taking them to school.” Anne informed her husband.
“Why not just give us money for a hot lunch?” Jim asked.
“Don’t be silly. Those things aren’t nutritious. Not after watching Super Size Me.” Anne said with a smile.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to get some.” James said, getting up from his seat and grabbing his coffee cup. “Come on boys. Let’s get your bread before we’re late.” Jim, Tim, and James then made their way outside to the car.
Kim, Ron, and Wade then finished their breakfast. “Thanks Mom. Love you.” Kim said, getting up from her seat and kissing her mother on the cheek. She then turned to Wade. “You’ll be alright here while me and Ron are at school?”
“No problem. I can find something to do.” Wade said with a smile.
“Well then, catch ya later Wade.” Ron said as he and Kim made their way outside and started walking to school.
Meanwhile, James’s car pulled up to a Seven Eleven. He, Jim, and Tim got out of the car and went inside. “Dad, why are we at a Seven Eleven?” Tim asked.
“For the bread boys. It’ll save us a ton of money instead of doing Wal Mart.” James said, walking up to the front counter. “Ten lottery ticket, please.” The cashier then gave James ten scratch off lottery tickets.
“Dad, why are you purchasing lottery tickets?” Jim asked.
“Just a hobby I like to do from time to time.” James said, using a coin to scratch one ticket. Jim and Tim began to look around for some bread.
“Hey, here’s some bread.” Jim said, spotting a bag on the counter. James groaned as his first scratch off game was unlucky. He then moved onto the next one.
“Hey dad, can we get some slurpees?” Tim asked.
“OK. But don’t tell your mother.” James said as he scratched off his next ticket. He then gasped as he saw his results. “Jim, Tim, I just won $1,000! $1,000!”
“Hicka Bicka Boo!” Jim and Tim exclaimed in unison, amazed that their father had won a lottery game.
“This is so cool!” Jim said, happily.
“What are we gonna buy?!” Tim asked, happily.
“Boys, we’re not gonna buy anything with this. This money is going into a special college fund.” James explained. “Now, let’s make your sandwiches and get you two to school.” James then collected his $1,000 and made his way back to the car. Jim and Tim then smiled at each other mischievously as they thought of an amazing way to spend their father’s lottery winnings.
They whispered the plans to each other and smiled. “Hoo Sha!” Both twins said, high fiving each other.
