Chapter 1 Gemma’s POV
Ugh.... this homework is so frustrating. I mean, who even uses calculus?! I need a break.
I go to Cream’s Frozen Yogurt. I eat my vanilla frozen yogurt with chocolate chips and extra sprinkles. I deserve this. I finish up and throw away my cup.
I walked down the street. Meredith’s Spiritual Journey. That shop sounds interesting. I walk in, it smells like sort of a sour, tangy cinnamon. It makes my nose burn. A lady stands behind the counter. She has long wavy brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, tan skin, a long skirt, and lots of jewelry.
“Welcome to Meredith’s Spiritual Journey.” She says.
“Hi?”
“What may the wonderful Meredith do for you today?”
“Um... first can you turn down the cinnamon smell a bit?”
“Cinnamon? Cinnamon?! This is eucalyptus!”
“Sorry....”
“What are you here for? Palm reading, fortune telling, contacting the spirits?
“Oh, are you a gypsy?”
“Gypsy?! I am very offended.” She said crossing her arms and turning away.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to be rude...” I said. I made her feel bad... how do I fix that? “That’s a wonderful dress you have...”
She turns back around,
“You really think so?”
“Of course.”
“T-thanks I guess...”
