Great story

"The imagination of the author was extraordinary. The plot was well written. A few errors to correct but over all great read. A few jumpy scenes that need to be smoothed out but great flow. When a reader can follow the imgination of the author and exactly invision the scenes coming to life, the author has done a great job with the story and you have accomplished this quiet well. "

Great Coming of Age Story

"This is a great coming of age story for a man reborn....So there is the first twist...Things happen and keep the story interesting. Writing style is unique with no errors to cause confusion. Recommend this book as well as the other authors books as they are all a good read."

A wondrous fantasy story

"I found this strory trough the note of the author in Royal Road. At the beginning I only looked for a nice time killer but who would have tought, that I would become hooked so fast? Right now it is on place 4 of my most favorite fantasy stories and believe me... my list is LONG!!! So yeah, it may begin with the classic reincarnation theme, but after that it walks it's own path. The author doesn't describe many charakters, but once he gives them live they will become people you can love or hate, where you can feel their hearts and understand there thinking. So yeah... I love your work dear author!!! :) (Sry for my bad english, I hope it's understandable what I want to say)"

Great Developing Story

"I have been reading this since it came out on royalroadl.com and have constantly been waiting for more, it has a lot of potential to be a truly amazing story. I look forward to how the story is going to develop and I am enjoying how the author is focusing on the main character's development as well as the development of the main character's companions. I honestly think that the auther should focus now on building the story a bit and introduce some sort of conflict a little later on. Once again, great story, keep it up"

Enjoyable

"So far I really enjoy this story here. The character started out as teenager who was reborn with all his memories. The author did well with the growth of the character also. The culture of the starting point is completely different and the character adjusts to the difference. This story has been fun to read, and keeps you wanting to know what is coming up next! Really love the way the author writing the detailed emotions of the characters. Also the creative ways of the souls, magic and difference in cultures and such. Great story!!"

Awesome... if i were there i would...damn XD

"Well first of all im fkng jelaous of the father of the MC… and the MC has nerves of diamonds to not grow insane knowing that each girl in the island does it with his father and that he is still small to allow his buddy to work!!! talk about daily torture in a island of naked women!!... As for the story so far its good... we are seen the MC advancing with life in that new world where most common sense you had in this world can be trashed... I like that the MC wants to not stand out from the others but it wouldnt be good if he dosnt stands out a little bit... its fine that he wants to hide his magic but why bother hiding his money? at least he can show some of it to not appear completely poor but not rich either. PD: Well i just noticed that we cant comment on the chapters.... and thats absolutely terrible, how will we give you feed back? or we must come here to add more letters to the review???"

The Falling Ascending Rebirth 01

"I really love the story and the plot, but I wish there was more to go with the book more smoothly like it'd really slow in the cave then just rushes towards the end."

Interesting, with pros and cons

"Rebirth is an interesting story with an interesting premise. The protagonist is reborn into a fantasy world after being executed on our own. We follow his second life from birth to young adulthood and see how he begins to come to terms with his new surroundings and the strange situation he finds himself in. The writing style is strong and the author is able to draw you along and into the storey despite its faults, and it does have some faults for all it has a lot to recommend it. I found the protagonist difficult to like. He takes an intense dislike to another character which is out of proportion to the reasons, leaving you wondering which of the two you would find the most irritating to be around (Both, was the conclusion I arrived at). The sex scenes came about at some really unlikely and inconvenient moments and tended to slow the storey down and defuse plot tension when it should have been building nicely. The female characters seem to be two-dimensional manic pixie dream girls and all seem far too eager to please the protagonist often on fairly flimsy grounds. That left me feeling the book had something of a teenage boy wish fulfilment theme going on and I found it difficult to take seriously. The first half of the book was, for me, by far the most interesting and the second half seemed to slow right down with a great deal of procrastinating in situations that we are often told are time critical but which characters seem content to dawdle over. That said the book has a lot to recommend it as well. The world building is quite good and we are given a window into a world that is both significantly different to ours and yet has a number of points of identifiable reference so we are never left feeling entirely out of our depth. That can be a difficult balance to strike. The author has clearly thought quite a bit about how magic would effect the world and has integrated it rather well, better than a lot of fantasy authors do. This lends the society of the new world a sense of authenticity. The authors writing style is strong and although I spotted a number of errors I strongly suspect that there were fewer than in much of my own work. Weighing in at 570 pages though does make it something of a large book to take on so weigh the pros and cons."

Spelling and Grammar review

"The story is amazing, the plot spectacular, and the details are gorgeous. Every single sentence gives you a feel for the characters and world so you really feel like it is not Michael who had plunged into a world of grandeur and debauchery, but the reader themselves. The only thing I would suggest for the story would be you spend a little more time editing, since I sometimes have found the occasional spelling mistake, forgetting to end a quote, and the few and far between grammar mishaps."

A great plot wasted.

"You spent the first half building up a wonderful world, a charismatic lead with a great backstory, and beautiful supporting characters to just go and waste it writing about the same situation for half the book. The pacing was off, spending one-half of the book going over the first decades of the main character's life to then spend the second half of the book on an estimated month. It seems like you started writing about the darkness and then forgot to stop writing about it, then finally around chapter 60 you went "oh yea!" and decided to advance the plot. I think this world would have been much more fun and exciting if you had continued or even accelerated the years that passed, eventually working your way to Michael being mentally old enough to naturally want his own death. At that point, he would meet the creator of all things. and be allowed to rest. To conculde, I really enjoyed the first half or so, but the graveyard and all afterwards was frustratingly dull."

Intriguing

"Just to be clear about the ratings given: When I give feedback I try my best to be realistic and helpful, 3 stars is not a negative score, it simply indicates that while I enjoyed the fiction, I think it needs work. Genre's Include: Mature, Adventure, Fantasy, Polyamouras Romance (nb: not harem). Writing Style: Darkbringer writes in a clear and concise manner with expressive imagery that is descriptive, but not flowery. The exposition is kept interesting and colourful, but to the point, and certainly not long winded. Technical Writing Skill: Grammar and spelling are good and the author makes use of a decent if at times shallow vocabulary. Characters: While The protagonist in his new incarnation is somewhat of a Mary Sue and although I initially mistook his reserved and serious nature for being a blank slate I now think that he has enough fire to be a good driver for the plot. The supporting cast is certainly amusing to say the least, many of them are quite quirky and emotive, though due to the story's fast pace they have had little fleshing out. The world building is the strongest part of this fiction as yet. It seems like a less fantastical version of Magic: The Gathering's world; with old, powerful individuals capable of great magical works, and a grim, medieval hierarchy of power. Plot & Tone: The plot certainly has good hooks. Who or what is the protagonist indebted to for his reincarnation? How will he navigate the cut-throat world around him? And of course, how will he create lasting relationships in a world so acclimatised to usury and manipulation? The general tone is hopeful and unworried, despite the grim circumstances that drive it; if you're looking for an adventure novel with a devil may care attitude, The Fallen Ascending will do you in good stead."
