Running From The Shadows

"Goos start. I really liked the beginning. This reminds me of a realism book because the characters are so relatable. Though as far as I read I couldn't see a specific place where the characters had a conflict where they could have some character growth. - Also a few grammar and spelling mistakes -"

Great read!!

"Great plot and characters. And a fantastic job of slowly revealing the past in a suspenseful way, great job with that! Madeline is a very intriguing character and I can’t wait to learn more about her and what happened to cause her and Alex to move to Seattle! I love that Madeline and Alex are two career people making it work-I feel like that’s a very relatable situation, but one that you don’t see too often in stories, so I liked that a lot. My only gripe was some of your grammar and spelling. You went back and forth with some of the names (Kirsty and Kristy, for example) and I noticed a few grammar mistakes that pulled me out of the story a bit. That may have sounded quite negative, but I want to finish off my saying I really enjoyed your story! The writing style flowed quite nicely, and I loved getting to know the characters and the slow reveal of the past is keeping me on my toes. Well done! :) "

4-5/5 🌟

"I honestly feel like Maddie and Alex's relationship is a little toxic- something which I think adds a little reality to the story. No couple is perfect, they all have their faults, and a lot of books either make them have ridiculous problems that can be solved with just a few words or none at all. I also love how Maddie has an empowering job- something that usually men have you know? Nice to see that she isn't like a housewife. I'm also enjoying the pacing of the story (not too fast, and not too slow), so I wasn't getting bored in like the third paragraph. One thing I suggest doing though would be to change the cover sometime soon."

Running from the shadows

"This was a great read. The suspense and the way you build the characters are great. For me, I have always found it hard to write a thriller/mystery story it is just not my cup of tea but I definitely know how hard it is to write one and most importantly to keep your readers engaged well you have done it beautifully. And hats off to you. The only things that I found were a few spelling errors and missing punctuation marks if you could correct that then your book is good to go. Anyway, keep writing. Best of luck."

Intriguing!

"There's no doubt the author loves her subject, and the characters. Her passion is very evident. The story itself, at least through Chapter 6, felt a little flimsy. It might be just a personal taste thing on my part, but I didn't find a whole lot of conflict, nor did the main character have a clear, strong goal besides 'the man in her life' which is a perfectly fine goal, but might not sustain a reader through a long story. A few typo/grammar issues marred the reading experience as well...but the writing shows great promise!"
