Ian (Ian, early 20s) rests his head on top of Daniel’s chest (early 20s).
Daniel’s chest moves up and down with each breath he takes.
IAN
I love how you allow yourself to be comfortable with me.
DANIEL
How can you tell?
IAN
It’s in the way you breathe.
DANIEL
Care to explain, Mr. Cashire?
IAN
Our first night together, on my bed, you tried to match the rhythm of your breathing to mine.
DANIEL
Did I now...
IAN
You nearly died while trying.
Ian looks up to Daniel with a smile.
DANIEL
You are absolutely right.
IAN
Don’t you notice you’re breathing to your own rhythm? and you’re allowing me to see it as it is?
DANIEL
Breathing is easier when you’re near me.
Ian looks at Daniel. Daniel stares at ceiling.
IAN
Daniel?
DANIEL
Ian?
IAN
I will love you, forever.
DANIEL
I will love you, for eternity.
IAN
That’s just another a way to say forever.
DANIEL
You’re right.
(and then)
I will love you forever, for eternity, until the end of time.
Ian smiles.
IAN
I will love you forever, for eternity, until the end of time.
Daniel moves on top of Ian. Their faces come close to touch.
DANIEL
Forever...
IAN
For eternity...
DANIEL
Until the end of time.
CUT TO.

Sun-rays illuminate the dark desert surface. REAVELING THE EARTH’S TEXTURE.
DANIEL (V.O.)
He is my soul. A kind, warm, and caring man.
The sun appears behind sand dunes. Sun-rays continue to reveal more across the surface.
DANIEL (V.O.)
He’s the only one I fell for. I heard once we meet certain people so they can change your life entirely? Him.
We SEE A CABIN in the distance. We move forward towards the cabin.
DANIEL (V.O.)
He sees this world as incredible, as I find him the same. My closest friend, the man I tell everything to.

DANIEL (V.O.)
I would die for him.
(and then)

Daniel (late 20s) makes pancakes on the stove. He adds the last pancake on a stacked plate. He puts the plate on a table filled with toppings and two additional plates, FOR HIM AND IAN.
He takes a seat at the head of the table. He waits.
Ian walks in, he is cold towards Daniel, RESENTING him. He makes himself coffee while Daniel watches.
IAN
Don’t do that.
DANIEL
I’m not doing anything.
IAN
You’re watching me.
Daniel stays silent.
IAN
Howard fed the chickens last night?
DANIEL
He did. He cleaned their coop as well.
IAN
I didn’t ask him to do that.
DANIEL
I asked him. I thought it would be nice to surprise you.
Ian sips from his coffee.
IAN
Don’t surprise me.
DANIEL
Fine.
IAN
What about patients, we have any today?
DANIEL
We do. She’ll be here at noon.
IAN
Call me when she’s here. I’ll be up in my room.
DANIEL
Please stay. Have breakfast with me.
IAN
I can’t.
DANIEL
You can. You just don’t want to.
IAN
You’re right. I don’t want to.
DANIEL
You won’t even sit with me?
IAN
Don’t do this, Daniel.
DANIEL
I’m asking.
Ian leaves.
Daniel sighs IN DEFEAT and eats ALONE.
9. EXT. THE DOCTOR’S CABIN - FRONT VIEW - MORNING
Howard (early 20s) tends to the garden.
Daniel comes out, with a folder in one hand, in the other a plate with a pancakes.
HOWARD
Pancakes! Hadn’t had a chance to eat dinner last night. I think you can guess why...
DANIEL
I hope you were reading the material I gave you.
HOWARD
I did. The lost art of German potion brewing... I thought it would be difficult.
DANIEL
If you’re looking for difficulty, you can go ahead and start the Chinese methods.
HOWARD
On second thought... what’s that in your hand?
DANIEL
Here.
Daniel hands the plate to Howard.
Eat up. Our patient will be arriving soon.
HOWARD
Finally, it’s been awhile since someone came by.
DANIEL
Don’t forget that’s a good thing.
HOWARD
I know, I know.
Daniel hands Howard the folder.
DANIEL
I need you to do this each morning from now on.
Howard looks into the folder.
HOWARD
Seems easy enough. May I ask why?
DANIEL
This cabin needs a cleanse, no? This area... feels a bit murky.
HOWARD
I’ll be right on it.
DANIEL
Thank you.
Daniel turns to leave.
HOWARD
Doc?
Daniel turns back to Howard.
DANIEL
Yes?
HOWARD
How is Ian today?
DANIEL
He seems well.
HOWARD
Good, that’s good... Is there anything I could do for him today?
DANIEL
The cleansing is enough for now.
HOWARD
Will do.
Daniel walks back inside. Howard eats the pancakes.
