Where
“It’s a five second wait before the kiss. When you look into each other’s eyes, she will look down at your lips,” the director instructed, “Most importantly the kiss has to look real.”
“I tried to do that the other time, but I don’t know if I can do it.”
“It could be because you’re the main character. You shouldn’t focus on being a character.”
“So, you want me to act as if it’s the real deal?”
“Yes, exactly. Like you’ve had feelings for her for a long time,” she stands, “That’s it for today. I discussed with Imani about you two staying together, so-”
“Staying together?
“Yes. That’s the only way you can get closer before the shoot.”
“It’s three months! Three months I have to stay with a girl.”
I fell out of bed finally waking up from my nightmare. Being the best actor out there is a nightmare. I never really thought of it that way, but after sleeping I’ve come to my senses. I’m not going to the cast meeting today and I’m going AWOL. First, I need food and lots of it.
“Are you okay, Jasen?”
No, no, no. I’m just hearing things, that’s all. There is no girl on my bed and all I need is some water. I froze when a hand was placed on top of mine. I will run on the count of-
“Jasen. I asked if you were okay.”
“Mhm. Just going to get water,” I sprinted out of the room without looking back.
What the heck happened last night? Why was there a girl in my bed? Why does it seem to take longer to get to the kitchen? Wait, I can’t even find the kitchen. There is no way at all.
I don’t even remember how I got here. I had no idea that I was even sleeping. Did all this happen in real life and not my nightmare? This can’t be happening. A pair of arms wrapped around me causing me to turn and use Kabedon.
She gave me a seductive look, “I love when you do this.”
I don’t know what came over me or what I was thinking. I leaned down and kissed her, Imani Andrews. I vowed to never touch women no matter what temptation does. It’s not that I don’t like them. I just went to jail one time because I got reported for rape. Crazy.
I picked her up, not breaking the kiss, and carried her back to the room. I never saw this side of me after I was let out of jail. I stopped having feelings for anyone, so when I acted it was too good. My body was doing things to Imani that I was unaware of. I can’t control it.
When I finally came to my senses, we were half naked. My shirt was missing. My pants were on but unbuttoned. I covered up Imani and rushed out of the room.
“I need coffee. Where the hell is the kitchen?”
“Good morning, Jasen. Did you guys have sex again?”
“Good-” I turned around, “Who the fuck are you?”
He sighs, “We have been living together for a month and you still don’t know who I am.”
I throw my hands up, “Honestly, I don’t care. I just want to find the kitchen.”
He then shakes his head and disappears around the corner. I followed after him, desperate for a wake-me-up. Stairs…how did I not see these? I ran down the stairs almost sliding across the floor. Nearly tearing the cabinets off their hinges, I searched for coffee grounds.
“What is wrong with you?” another male opens a cabinet next to me, “It has always been here.”
“My mistake. I have a lot on my mind.”
“What else could you possibly have on your mind besides sleeping with Imani?”
I slid a hand over my face, “I just can’t remember some things.”
“You? Forgetful? What did you forget?”
“Your name and why the hell I’m here,” I explained.
“Funny,” he took out the coffee ground, “Here.”
Another boy shows up, yawning. He snatches the ground out of my hand and treaded to the coffee maker. I hit him across the head, and he glared at me. He turned around after sitting the coffee ground on the counter. He yawned again.
“Jasen, you know better than to do that.”
“Do I?” I arched an eyebrow.
“Jason, you want to hear something funny?”
“No, Jacob,” Jason immediately answered.
“Okay. your brother said he’s having a hard time remembering things.”
“Jasen said that?”
“Mhm.”
“Jasen?”
“The one and only.”
“You two do realize I’m standing right here?” I asked.
Jasen waved his hands in the air, “Forget that. Why is he drinking coffee?”
“Oh yeah. You never drank coffee before. You told us it makes you sick.”
I added sugar to my coffee, “When did I say that?”
There was a gasp from the other side of the kitchen, “Jasen, you said you don’t drink coffee.”
I threw my cup against the wall beside me, “Why the fuck is everyone telling me that? I don’t even remember saying that! I don’t remember your names! Neither do I remember stepping foot into this house!”
“That wasn’t necessary,” Jacob said.
“Did I ask?” I stomped out of the kitchen.
The guy I met this morning walked in, “What’s up wi-”
“Don’t ask,” I continued up the stairs back to my room.
Imani POV
I woke up to the sound of the door slamming. Jasen was pacing the floor back and forth. He was mumbling to himself, again. I stood up and slid into his discarded shirt. I wrapped my arms around him, and his shoulders faltered.
“Imani.”
“What’s on your mind?”
“Apparently nothing since I can’t remember when I got here.”
“Hm. Sit and let’s see if I can get you to relax.”
He sat on the bed, and I sat in his lap, placing my legs on each side of him. His eyebrows were still knitted together, and I knew just the cure. I slowly laid him back on the bed. He didn’t really react, but I just started. I massaged the space between his brows.
“Okay, tell me what got you like this.”.
“I literally just to-”
“No,” I cut him off, “Give me the details.”
“Aren’t you supposed to keep me from thinking about it?”
“Aren’t you supposed to tell me what’s going on with you?” I pressed down harder, and he moved my hands.
He sighed and started talking, “Well, I had a nightmare, but you would call it a dream.”
I kissed his forehead, “Mhm.”
“I’m an actor and because I’m not good at e-expressing my-what are you doing?”
“Listening to you.”
“I can’t focus if you keep doing that.”
I rolled my eyes, “That’s the point,” I kissed him on the lips before he could speak.
He was trying too hard to push me away, but he stopped and kissed me back. His tongue dove quickly into my mouth. His hands trailed all over my body, not leaving any part untouched. We were just really supposed to get to know each other during these two months. I like it better when we roam each other.
Someone walked in, “Where did he go-ohhh. This is new,” he closed the door, “Hey, guys! Imani is really the dom!”
He smiled between kisses and lifted my shirt off, “I’m still going to explain my problem.”
I pulled away, “So your problem is more important than this?”
"Imani, I don't even know you that well."
"We have been sleeping together since the second week we stayed here. Why are you having trouble being with me now?"
"I was getting to that, but you interrupted me."
