The two best friends, or shall we call them the two heroes of this story, walked out of West Glenn High, barely able to contain themselves.
You see, it was the first day of summer, and they were headed to Crumps, the renowned local diner, owned by the protagonist’s grandfather. They knew they were going to have a blast - or at least they thought, because like everyone knows, the truth sucks. This summer was not going to be an ordinary summer, sadly.
Just before the two were about to cross the street toward Crumps, they heard a gunshot. But not just an ordinary gunshot - it was a gunshot of misery for the protagonist, let alone his best friend.
The gunshot was a game changer, in fact, if there wasn’t one this book might not even exist. The gunshot would change the two’s lives, and almost everyone’s in town.
