Welcome to Corvus Academy
Seth
“Why do I have so many clothes? It is going to take forever to pack all this crap.” Max said to himself.
“You have an hour left to pack, Max,” I said, looking at my watch.
Max gasped. “I’m never going to make it!” He started freaking out.
“Well, that’s your problem,” I laughed at him.
“If you’re going to act like that, I’m happy we don’t have to share a room anymore.” Max glared while I flashed a grin.
“Because you want to go to that college?” I said disgustedly.
“Oh, hell no, apparently, it’s the only option open to me,” Max scoffed. “I have no idea which idiot come up with that idea. What I can’t believe is that the Ministry agreed to it.”
“Neither can I,” I nodded in agreement.
“I almost have everything,” Before Max let out another word Chase appeared out of thin air. “Chase, how lovely for you to stop by,”
“You will not believe this; Bryson said this move is not so bad!” Chase said, and Max and I were in complete shock. What the hell?
“How could he say that? This is unacceptable.” I declared.
“Ask his crazy ass, bro!” Chase said
“Before you go and yell at his dumbass, could you finish packing first?” I asked as I looked at Max.
“UGH, Fine, but only because I don’t want anything left behind,” Max said.
Adelle
“Bryson, you’re not serious, are you,” I said, shocked.
“Adelle, it’s going to happen anyway, so might as well look on the bright side of this shitstorm,” Bryson said.
“The bright side? Are you off your nut?” Zack said.
Bryson laughed. “Just a little. But we will live there for a few months; we might as well make the best of it.”
“Are you scared, guys?” I shivered.
“Hell no!” Zack grunted
“No reason to be afraid,” Bryson smiled. Max appeared as we talked about the new place we would be living.
“Bryson, I heard you were talking shit!” Max said.
“I’m not talking shit,” Bryson said.
“Well, saying this move situation isn’t that bad is the definition of talking shit,” Max yelled at him, and he scoffed.
“You might as well wake up and smell the coffee; it will happen,” Bryson yelled.
“That doesn’t make it less bad, Bryson.” Max yelled, “This is the worst thing that has ever happened to us.”
“Damn right it is!” Chase said.
“You guys are too dramatic!” Seth said.
“DRAMATIC?” I yelled, “They could be vicious and cruel killers.” I was shaking. Why did this have to happen to us?
“Adelle, breathe,” Seth said softly.
“Calm down, Adelle; we will be with you,” Zack said.
“I’m just a nervous wreck,” I said
“Hannah will be there as well,” Zack said
“Did someone say my name?” Hannah said, walking in. “Why are you talking about me?” Hannah whipped her hair.
“Adelle is a bit worried about going alone at night, but you’ll be there too.” Seth smiled.
“Don’t worry, Adelle, it’s going to be okay. Bitches always stick together.” Hannah smiled.
“It’s Witches, Hannah.” I corrected her.
“Whatever, you know what I mean” She smiled.
The door opened to reveal Mr. Clark; he walked into the room to tell us it was time to go.
“We must get going, guys; we are about to leave.” I know this is a significant change, but please try to be on your best behavior,” said Mr. Clark.
“We will be on our best behavior if they are, too,” Hannah said.
“I can’t promise anything, Mr. Clark,” I told him.
“Look, I know this is hard. But don’t start or try anything with the vampires. Get your stuff, and let’s go.” We all walked out of our old school building with Mr. Clark.
Welcome to Corvus Academy College. The school was built and named after Michael Corvus. A very old vampire founded this school. Corvus Academy is a college for vampires. All vampires are obligated to attend college like this until they turn 24. They teach them science, our history, and society, but also how to defend themselves and learn to control their thirst for blood. As you know, this school is getting new students, us, Witches and Wizards.
Let me tell you about our history if you wish to understand. The Elder Vampire Council and the Ministry of Magic decided that our colleges have become one. Only some people were open to the idea.
Witches, Wizards, and Vampires have never gotten along and stayed away from each other for countless millennia. But the tensions between the species grew so much that it led to multiple fights. Around 213 years ago, there was a war between Witches, Wizards, and Vampires. The conflict threw the three races into a chaotic loop of battle, ambush, assassination, and casualty. Both sides lost millions of lives. After 46 years, one surviving witch had enough. She created a disease that infected and killed all-female supernaturals of all species. But why would she do that? I have no fucking clue.
But the spell worked. Witches, Wizards, and Vampires returned home to protect their families, making an unspoken truce. Wizards, Witches, and Vampires created this truce to protect their loved ones. Sadly, there was no protection for us. Almost all female supernaturals died; only the young females survived. The children were immune.
We still pay the price for that disease one hundred sixty-seven years later. 95% of all female supernaturals were dead. Few females are born now, and women are probably still affected by this disease. The aftermath of the war is why our colleges are merging into one; there are not enough supernaturals to keep the schools safe and not enough teachers to teach. Although the war might be over, many of us still don’t like getting near the other species. For the last 167 years, we have tolerated each other and kept our distance until now.
Most of us were a little overwhelmed standing in front of the academy entrance.
“Fuck me, that is one big gate,” I said
“This college looks so.” He took a moment before continuing. “pompous. It’s disgusting,” Zack said.
“Using fancy words now, eh, Zack?” Max laughed, looking at Zack. “Corvus Academy might already be affecting you.” Max laughed.
“Fuck you, Max,” Zack said.
“Keep walking, guys,” Mr. Clark said
“I guess it’s time we go to hell,” Max said, and we all laughed.
We all entered the college, and everything looked nice, but it was gross at the same time. Fucking bloodsuckers.
“Welcome, students of East End College; I’m Headmaster Kraven. I understand this is a big step for everyone, but it was necessary to ensure the safety of all students. Your classes and teachers will stay the same, but your teacher, Mr. Clark, and of few of my teachers will combine some of your classes with the schedules of the students of Corvus Academy. I hope everyone will be on their best behavior. Each student will receive a room number and key, and I hope you enjoy your time here.” Headmaster Kraven smiled; his teeth made my blood freeze.
“Please get your stuff and find your room.” Mr. Clark said.
“Even the stairs are fancy, ugh, Jesus Christ,” Max said.
“You mean pompous,” Zack corrected him.
“Right, it’s extremely pompous,” Max said.
We each explored and entered the rooms we were going to stay in. After that, we telepathy told each other to meet in the area where we could meet to discuss what our room looked like and our next course of action. “This looks nice!” I spoke.
“The best part is that we haven’t seen a vampire yet,” Chase said, jumping in glee.
“That is miraculous,” Hannah said.
“You don’t hear me complaining,” Chase said. “How were your rooms?”
“Pretty cool.” Adelle said, “I wonder how classes are going to go.”
“Not well; they are trying to put witches, wizards, and vampires all in one fucking classroom. What would you expect? Hannah said.
“That we would kill one of you, and the rest will behave after that,” said a vampire.
Most of us turned around and saw several vampires approach us.
“I’d like to see you try,” Chase growled, making a fireball, which only made the vampire laugh.
“Careful little magician, playing with fire will burn you. I’m Valentine.” Valentine laughed at all of us. “Did you hear that, Earl? The little twerp thinks he has a chance against us.”
“I see that this is getting out of control. Let’s start over. Name’s Bryson,” Bryson said, extending his hand to them. Here’s hoping.
“I don’t give a fuck about your name, wizard,” Valentine scowled at his face, making his fangs visible.
“You have to accept that we’re not going anywhere, so you might as well make an effect to get to know us,” Bryson said.
“I don’t want to get anywhere NEAR these bloodsuckers.” Chase boomed at them.
“At least one of you gets it. I can’t wait to see what Alnwick has in store for them. See you later, mortals.” Valentine and Earl sped off, warning us about Alnwick. Oh no. No no-no-no.
“Did he say A-Alnwick?” My voice cracked. “I think he did, and we’re fucked. I’m too young to die.”
“Adelle, no one will die; we are still in a college with rules and teachers,” Bryson said, trying to calm me down.
“None of that is going to protect us from Alnwick!” I yelled.
“You did not just say Alnwick?” Zack said, walking into the room with Seth and Max.
“Yes, the two vampires just here mentioned Alnwick,” I said.
“And were they talking about the old family known for their violence and strength? Or were they talking about a different Alnwick?” Max asked us.
“The Old and Powerful Alnwick Family, how many Alnwick families do you know?” Hannah said, “I thought their last child left the college decades ago?
I was hyperventilating; gods, I might kill myself if I breathed too fast. “Breath slowly, Adelle,” Hannah hugged me.
“Well, if a powerful Alnwick is attending the college, there is nothing we can do about it, so let’s get something to eat,” Seth said
“Good idea Seth,” I nodded.
We had a hard time finding our way around the maze of a college, but we found the kitchens after what felt like hours trying to find the damn place.” “Fuck me; this place is huge.”
“What are you doing in my kitchen?” Said the chef. “WELL?”
“He is a human, right?” I asked, and Adelle nodded. “I’m sorry to enter your kitchen, but we hoped to get something to eat.”
“You’re the students from East End. Perfect, I was just about to start dinner for you. Just give me some time, and you all can eat,” said the chef
“Thank you, sir,” I said.
“Don’t call me sir; my name is Gavan. Now get yourselves to the cafeteria,”
We all decided to go our separate ways and find our dorm rooms at the school. I should have stayed with Hannah after walking back to her room. I assured her that I would be fine on my own and what a big mistake that was.
I am lost; gods, I’m so lost. I was holding my cross in my hands. Calm down, Adelle; you’re a witch. You can make it to your room; I need to head left.
“What do we have here?” My blood froze. Vampires. Female vampires.
“She’s scared of us, Camille.”
“As she should be, Rebekah.”
I was so scared. I couldn’t move or take my eyes off them.
“At first, I thought sharing our hallways with wizards and witches would be awful, but now it might be fun. What do you think, little witch?” Camille smirked.
“Go away, Camille,” said a voice.
“CAMILLE, RUN!!” I saw the vampires run away and turned around to see another vampire girl, and before I could scream, she covered my mouth with her hand.
“Relax, witch; I’m not going to hurt you. Please don’t scream. I’m going to remove my hand from your mouth now.” I didn’t say a word as she removed her hand. She had red hair, dark eyes, and an attitude that screamed power. She’s an Alnwick. Holy shit, she’s Artemis Alnwick.
“I suggest you learn how to defend yourself, little witch,” Artemis said, and after that, she walked away. Oh my god, she walked away, right? I met an Alnwick, and I’m not dead. She even helped me.
This is going to be a freaky year.
