Grabbing a plate of food, I head to the table at the front of the room. Its where the Alpha and Betas families sit. My mum and her mates aren't here yet. One look from my dad's beta Lewis I can guess why.
I sit down next to beta Lewis and beta Alana's son Dylan. He's the same age as me and one of my closest friends. We start talking about the new training schedule. I look up as my parents walk in, my mum looking thoroughly loved.
When she sits down across from me, she frowns at the smirk on my face. My dad's sit around her like three big bodyguards all kissing her passionately before they start to feed her from their plates.
This is how it is in our world, when a male finds his mate, she becomes his whole life. Everything revolves around her happiness. Thats why I'm resistant to the mate bond, I have enough to look after. I don't need another person to rely on me.
My mums face breaks into a beautiful smile over my head. I look to see my brother heading our way. All of the she wolves fluttering their eyes at him. As usual, he completely ignores them coming to sit with his family.
Ollie gives my mum a kiss on her cheek before sitting on my other side digging into his roast dinner. We eat in silence before my dad Tyler speaks up. Hes the oldest of the three brothers which makes him the stronger alpha of the three men. Same as me and Ollie who is 10 minutes younger than I am. Then the baby ruby who is 10 minutes younger than him.
" Now you're both here I want to talk to you both about if you're still happy to share the position of Alpha when your mum me and your dads step down.?"
Like my dad I'm the oldest triplet so the role of alpha would normally go to me naturally. But I refuse to lead without my brother by my side. The same as my dad did with his brothers.
My mum smiles at Ollie and I pride in her eyes as she reaches over grabbing our hands. " I hope you both know how proud of you me, and your dads are. You are going to be wonderful Alphas. You just need to find your mate, and everything will be perfect."
I roll my eyes, removing my hand from hers. Ignoring the flash of hurt in her eyes I go to stand when the firm voice of my dad Jake puts me back on my ass. "You apologize to your mother for being a rude little prick. You think you're too good for a mate? Before I met your mum, I didn't want a mate either. The day she walked into the hospital was the day I fell in love for the first- and last-time son. You won't be young forever; the day will come very soon when having a different she Wolf every night is going to get boring".
I get up going to kiss my mum " sorry mum that was uncalled for" she smiles getting up as my dad's lead their Luna away to do God knows what.
After they have left, I turn to Dylan with a wide grin on my face. His gaze follows mine as we see the table full of desperate horny, she wolves. Giving him a nod to follow me we get up making our way over to where the giggling females are.
" Ladies my friend and I are in dire need of the company we think you could provide for us tonight" I say, my eyes fixed on the red head I saw when I came in earlier.
A tall blond looks at Dylan licking her lips, " what do you say ladies should we show these two a good time?" she purrs. We are met with a chorus of hell yeah making me smirk. I walk over to my target for the night grabbing her soft hand and kissing it.
I resist an eye roll as she drops her eyes coyly giggling. Her sweet innocent act is useless with me I know what these women want. Their ultimate goal is to become a Luna it's almost like a job for them. I lead the group to the games room where we spend the next few hours playing pool and drinking.
Later that night after the redhead has left my room. I'm once again in the bathroom relieving myself. My dad's words echo in my head as I release in the shower. Maybe he's right. Maybe it's time to grow the fuck up and be the man I was born to be.
