Flawlessly Dark!!!
"Dear Nana Nox, Today I began reading your book and I must confess that I found myself pulled into a dark world of mischief and grit in the oddest of places. I found The main character, Lenora Ross intrigued and excited by a world, which is opposite to what she was brought up to acknowledge and accept as a norm. She is a character who has a lot of unexplored, dark passion, within her. And trapped by the goodness that surrounds her, she finds this execution as a chance to explore sides of herself she never knew existed. A side which I am sure would be shunned at in the perfect society she lives in. I find her brave and passionate. A daring character. The story is intricately woven with the characters; the man and woman on the balcony, to deliver a captivating story. I see a darker side to London in this particular story, one which I haven't been exposed to in my reads of historical novels. Nana's flawless writing technique, carries the reader along, and I must confess I was Carried along. Transported to London of the late 1800s. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Even if you aren't a lover of historical novels, read this one for the knowledge and excitement you would get. Wonderful work, Nana. Keep it up🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️"

"I do love this story. I read every chapter as soon as it comes out and am greatly intrigued by it all. Usually, I'm not much into paranormal (and especially not werewolf, although if this is a werewolf story or not is debatable) stories, but this one, with the victorian setting and all the intriguing mysteries and romantic undertones is really worth it. I'm so looking forward to seeing this novel finished and finally finding out what this is all about. "

"Very good writing! This author, Nana Nox, has a gift setting time and place firmly in your mind. I felt surrounded by Victorian England almost at once, Texture and detail spring from every paragraph. She paints with words the way an artist uses a color pallet. We live this deeply intense story through the eyes and senses of her main character, Lenore Ross, a seemingly stable Victorian wife. With a boring life of tea parties and mindless chatter. We soon learn she is not a mindless bit of lace. She is made of sterner stuff! When she is abruptly thrust into a dark world of sudden death, sex, and mystery the reader feels her surprise, her anguish, and her compulsion to find the answers. This commenter is not normally interested in this type of mystery thriller and the troupes it uses to spin the tale. But the author is so good, so compelling, I had to keep going. I highly recommend this title. Strong work! "

"All Leona Ross ever wanted to do was to live a quiet life, while avoiding unpleasant gossip. Often used as a tool by her husband to infiltrate high society (for Leona is quite beautiful with her green eyes and blonde curls) Leona finally decides to put her foot down. Enough is enough. She stomps out of Margaret’s tea party without giving a backwards glance. After traveling down a noxious, odorous alley while doing her best to avoid the lecherous gaze of unsavory men, she finds herself joining the crowd at the gallows. There stands the equally beautiful Baroness Victoria Blackwood, about to be executed for poisoning her husband. As Leon stares in shock, repulsed and attracted by the violence she is about to witness, she suddenly feels a pair of rough hands grasp her from behind. Who dares to assault her in such a public place? All Leona knows that her correct response here, might mean the difference between her life and death. Excellent writing here. Perhaps some of the best on Inkitt. I saw no head hoping here, no past/present tense issues. Author Nana Nox ‘shows’ the readers what is going on in her novel, instead of ‘telling’ us about it so that we are allowed to form our own opinions about the characters and their plight. Truly superb writing, and I’ll be studying Nana Nox’s works, to see if this can help me with my own works. Lol. "
Quite possibly the best book on Inkitt!
"I don't know where to begin, the story is in every aspect amazing! The writing is brilliant. The author has done some great research about the time setting of her story and the dialogues come close to how people in the 19th century conversed with one another (coming from a historian). There aren't any historical inaccuracies which is amazing on its own seeing as many movies, series, and some fiction authors can miss that mark. The story plot is original and nothing like anything I have read so far both on online platforms and books from the bookstore. The family and relationship dynamics between the different characters are well written within the plot making the story feel come alive as if you are watching a movie. The pace is exactly right and as a reader, you can't wait for more. The character development is also strong with the protagonist as we are getting to know her more and notice how horrible her marriage and husband are. I recommend this book to all the lovers of a fictional historical read and to all the werewolf genre lovers! Great work author, it's the best story I have read so far here on Inkitt!"

"I literally binged this at the hospital and I genuinely did NOT want to put it down!!!! Honestly, I have no critiques to give because honestly, I'm just another small beginning writer and I think your writing is so above the professional level with the way you so comfortably balanced the narrative and descriptivity. I am a sucker for descriptive writings so just know, reading it was as though I was watching it all for myself and that made the reading experience so gorgeous for me. I loved that the characters were given life instead of monotonous sequences which I appreciate so much!!! Personally, this is one of the few books I'm actually looking forward to completion. Please keep writing the way you do!!!! You're doing an amazing job!!!! There is not much to say, only that after a few chapters I can be sure that the story is going to be amazing. The plot is unpredictable even now I still dont know how the plot will evolve! The characters, both the main character and the supporting ones are all interesting!! It has mystery, romance, adventure, and a fantasy... I suppose (not sure yet, as I told you, I cant predict the plot!). I can only describe this wonderful story in one word: ADDICTIVE! "What the Mouths of Shadows Say is a page-turner! Literally, every chapter keeps you wanting to know more. At first, the story leads you to an execution and wanting to know more about the individual who dies. But that is as far as I would go for spoilers; the rest the audience has to read to find out! This story has a beautiful blend of mystery, drama, romance, and history. Normally, stories that are set back in time, I usually look past it, but I am so glad I read yours! Lenora has a realistic and curious personality. The minor characters in the story are all well thought out and play a critical part in the main character's development or plot of the story. Anyway, I can go on about how amazing the story is, and I definitely can't wait for the next chapter!"

Dark intrigue, temptation and strong writing!
"From the very first chapter, the imagery and apt descriptions set the scene, blending perfectly with the tone of the writing. Both were very well executed, and a joy to read and experience. Each of the characters had a clear and distinctive personality, that gave rise to interesting dialogue and interactions. The story itself, was not only entertaining and filled with mystery, but also effortlessly consistent. I really enjoyed the suspense and overall atmosphere of the writing. The setting of Victorian London only added to the appeal and arc of the storyline. The main character of Lenora, is yet another strong reason to read this story, as she is also somewhat of an enigma. Her orchestrated life, so orderly and unruffled, suddenly finds a taste of lustful excitement and wandering intrigue. I can only imagine what dark surprises lurk in her future! A shadowy and mysterious story, that I recommend without a single hesitation. The best of luck in your future writing! "
Like watching an old London thriller
"I was quite impressed with where this book went. There was no predicting what happened next. All the characters are done so well, and now we are beginning to see a fascinating change in the MC. There's mystery, intrigue, occult, and supernatural elements woven together to create this enchanting world. My only gripe (and it's very slight) is there were some commas in unnecessary places, but that is the only nitpicky thing I could find. Otherwise, this was quite a thrill to read. This is the first book of its kind I've read on this app, and I'm glad of the time invested. It was well spent. "

"This story is very interesting! Normally I love historical romances, so I might be a little biased, but this story is well executed it has become one of my favourite stories here! It doesn't follow the usual plot most historical novels seem to follow, but it doesn't make it less interesting. There is a lot of mystery, perverse acts and tells of magic. Again, it is everything I need in a novel! The story is well written. The grammar flows easily, and I was to caught up in the storyline to take note of any grammatical errors. I am very much looking forward to your next update!"
