Prologue: A New Cycle
Silence. That’s the norm when you’re in a forest. Someone has to do the job though.
A man sits high in a tree. He stares through binoculars, scanning the area.
Suddenly, a burst of black crows fly into the air and glide over him. He touches an earpiece device on his right side.
“Come in, come in. This is sector H-47. Crows have started to migrate to the South East. Please inform the guild leader immediately. I’ll be falling back. Over and out.”
The man switches off his earpiece before disappearing.
“Thank you, guild leader. Will do.” Back at a communication centre, a girl responds.
“Everyone! Get the information out! The New Cycle will commence soon,” she announces.
In a heavily populated area, the message is repeated via a hologram: a new cycle is coming soon. The crowd starts going crazy.
“A New Cycle is coming! Woohoo!”
“I wonder what type of gifts the newborns will have?”
“I hope someone will be good with massages! My body has been killing me.”
People are discussing all sorts of things. They are extremely excited at the prospect of new citizens. With each new cycle, new possibilities open up in the world of Arkodia.
In other areas of Arkodia, people are starting to make preparations. They are getting ready to travel.
“Be safe. Let us know when you arrive at your first destination.”
“Don’t worry. I will be fine.”
Many guilds send out their best recruiters to ensure they can get the most amount of newborns as possible.
The battle to increase creditation has started in Arkodia. Everyone in every guild is preparing to do what they can to increase their rank.
Well, almost everyone in every guild.
In one area, a man with a brown coat can be seen sleeping in his cart.
He jolts awake due to loud sounds.
“Huh?”
He looks up and sees crows flying by.
“Oh? That time of the year already?”
He looks at the sun.
“Well, I’m last anyway, but I probably should get going. Hahaha!”
He takes the cart by the handle and starts walking on the dirt road.
