Taylor POV #1

It's been a year since Laurie left the softball team. It isn't the same without her. I missed the way she almost always tripped when to she tried to catch the ball but no matter how many times she fell she always stood back up. She was kinda inspiring. But I get that softball just wasn't her thing and maybe that's for the best. She's now doing music class, apperantely. Rochelle even said that she is learning how to play the guitar, which is something I always wanted to learn. But my mom I could only have one hobby outside school or it would become to stressfull for me. So I chose softball and I don't regret it.

"Taylor! you're up!" Coach James shouts. His words shock me as I was daydreaming. "Okay, coach!" I yell. I stand up and head to the field. As we are playing it seems to me that coach James drank 2 extra cups of  black coffee today.

"Glue your eyes on the ball,Taylor" he shouts.

"Throw with your hart Yuwen not with your brain."

" Run, Tom! Ruunn!"

"Do you guys wanna  be champions or nooottt!"  He yells as he clenches his

fists into the air.                                                                                                                                 Jeez! Coach is usually pretty fanatic but today he seems to be going beserk. We still have weeks until the championship.

[PRACTICE ENDS]                                                                                                                                        "Great work today guys, keep it up!" Coach says as he high fives me. "I can smell  that trophy already." He takes a big sniff and breathes out. Kai is standing next to me and I give her a  look saying "Your dad is weird" and then she gives me look saying " I know, try living with him" as we both laugh and head to the lockers.  I sit on the bench as I am putting off my gear. Then I hear a familiar voice, "Good job on the field today Taytay." I look up to see that it's Yuwen.

"Thanks!" I say  "You played great too, today."

" Tss, I mean when don't I?"

"I mean... do you really want an example?" I say.

He chuckles and heads to his locker. A few minutes go by I see everybody packing and leaving. Meanwhile  I wait for my mom to pick me up since we are going to domino's pizza's today. "I can't wait!" I think to myself. I sit on the bench with my bagpack on my lap and say bye to everyone as they leave. Then I see Yuwen walk by me as he too is leaving.

" See you tomorrow, Yuwen! "

" See you tomorrow, Taylor!  "

As he is leaving he suddenly stops and turns his head, his mouth open as he takes a deep breath, as if he is about to say something important. I stare at him waiting for what he is about to say. But Then he turns his head and continues walking home. I want to call out his name and ask what he was about to say but then  " BzzBzz!"   It was my phone. It was my mom saying to come to the parking lot because they're waiting there for me. I stand up, put my bag on my back and head to the parking lot. But then i suddenly stop and look behind me.  As I see Yuwen already a little distance away from the field, walking further and further away into the sun setting sky.  I let out a small sigh as I continue walking my way to the parking lot...

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me.
