1. The Doctors Mask

An utterly beautiful doctor walked through the busy hospital corridor, authority oozing from him like a magnet.

Calm. A complete opposite to the rest of the nurses and doctors on the intensive care unit.

His badge bounced on his chest with every step, the photo resembling a model headshot than a staff ID

He grinned as he spotted the nurse he was looking for “Jenny.” His voice spilled out in dominance. Deep. Soothing.

It was like he had no bother in the world.

Her eyes widened at the unexpected visitor on her ward, she immediately bowed in respect “D-Dr. Kim, to what do I owe the pleasure?” She asked, now lifting her head to analyse the doctor’s features.

She had never seen the infamous Kim Taehyung up so close.

It felt like only yesterday she had studied his publishings to further her knowledge in the medical field. He had performed miracle surgeries, breakthroughs in science and won awards for his ideas.

His smile reached his eyes, handsome features standing out, it was undeniable. His beauty. Porcelain skin, rumoured cold to the touch.

Eyes so full of intrigue, fluttering lashes radiating innocence.

How did such a man even know her name?

“I came to see your report on the recent coma patient that transferred to us. You completed the assessment, right?” He said, hands tucked away in his lab coat.

“Yes sir, it was me. Hold on.” She sputtered out, fumbling with her cart full of medications and reports. She came across the name of the patient and grabbed the detailed documents, handing them over with two hands. Respect.

Even the way he held the report, eyes unwavering as he read the assessment was done gracefully.

‘He is a dangerous man.’ Jenny thought and she shifted on her feet, feeling small in front of the knowledgable doctor.

Why?

Dr Kim was unreadable, the same emotion on his face. Even the way he held the report, eyes unwavering as he read, was graceful.

He had only smiled at her kindly and asked a question yet he had her anxious like it was some unspoken spell.

Finally Dr Kim hummed lowly, it sent a shiver down the young nurses spine as he handed the report back to her. “I am impressed, the detail is immaculate. I am glad to have such a talented member of staff at my hospital.” He said, smiling widely at the shocked nurse.

A moment of silence occurred, Jenny wanted to cry tears of happiness. Her idol just...complimented her.

She gathered what sanity she had left in that moment, quickly bowing “t-thank you Dr Kim, you are too kind.” Her heart was pounding in her chest.

Her hard work recognised.

By THE Kim Taehyung.

“No need to thank me, just keep up the good work.” He replied and began walking away, Jenny maintaining her bow till she could no longer see his shoes.

She finally released a breath she didn’t know she was holding and placed a hand on her heart.

Erratic.

She looked at his figure as he turned a corner towards some elevators, allowing herself to breathe normally.

This was just the effect the great doctor had on humans, by instinct they knew he was superior. Little did they know the real Kim Taehyung and the dark creature that lay behind his good looks and charms.

He was a force to be reckoned with.

Taehyung stared at his emails, his nails tapping on the wooden desk while his head rested in his other hand. Even now he radiated an aura like a model, enough to make even the straightest guys question their sexuality.

Another email from his father stared back at him, he was disinterested in the matter. Bored.

And yet he made sure to read all the finer details of how the Jeon family must pay for how they wronged him this month.

The insults spat by the 700 year old vampire were just so...childish? His father, Kim Tae-san, always kept up with the modern lingo and insults so half the stuff written he did not understand.

“He needs to keep off the internet.” He mumbled and tutted, clicking off the email.

He knew he could not discard it so easily.

As soon as he would return to the Kim mansion, he will hear even more about it.

‘They are fools’

‘We should kill them all’

‘Even his hair looks shit’

The usual.

A small knock drew his attention, one whiff of their scent exposed who this was. Taehyung laid out his perfect smile and confidently spoke “come in.”

The door opened, Dr Jung entering the office, returning the bright smile Taehyung had.

Jung Hoseok, an impressive surgeon, skills almost matching the vampire.

He had earned Taehyung’s respect, not just as a surgeon but as a close friend. Despite this, Hoseok did not know of the secret Taehyung had, and the vampire never intends for him to find out.

“I just got done with a surgery, it was a success.” Hoseok said, relaxing his body in one of the chairs in front of Taehyung.

“I did not expect it to fail, you are too skilled a surgeon for that outcome.” Taehyung spoke proper, analysing his top surgeon.

The human looked exhausted, eyes closed with one arm covering his face. The vampire looked at him amused.

Taehyung leaned forward, controlled and composed as always.

“And yet, they all doubted me, saying the surgery would fail. It took me 18 hours but it was successful.” Hoseok spoke tiredly, his words more forced than usual.

Sleep deprivation must be setting in.

“You must sleep hyung.” Taehyung now spoke as his concerned friend more than his boss.

Hoseok hummed slowly repositioning himself to get more comfy so he could fall asleep then and there. He could already feel himself slipping away into a slumber.

Taehyung just chuckled, this had to be the 10th time Hoseok had done this.

This human was comfortable sleeping in a room with a vampire, the twisted reality was that. Taehyung would never harm him, though he had thought about it in the past when he had gone a while without blood.

The younger had pestered him all day to review his scalpel technique and when Taehyung is thirsty, his mood shifts.

The vampire glanced at his wristwatch. 19:46.

It was time to be leaving, his week long shift coming to an end. People assumed Dr Kim was getting plenty of sleep due to his ability to lack tiredness. In reality, he would work as much as possible before he needed to feed.

He kept his interactions with staff minimal today, the thumping of their hearts pumping blood around their body would overtake his senses.

Warm. Mouth watering. Alive.

He knew he had to get out the hospital for the safety of everyone here, this was where he saved people instead of killing.

He eyed the doctor, beginning to let out a snore in his weird position. He swooped up friend in his arms, the action not even stirring the human to wake.

Hoseok deserved a comfortable bed for a long slumber.

He saved a young boys life today.

And so he trailed out of his office, ignoring the drool spilling out onto his shoulder, headed towards the staff sleeping quarters.

Taehyung spotted the door, just as a fellow vampire turned the corner, a clipboard gripped in their hand.

The way they walked, confident. Yet, face full of mischief.

Taehyung knew better than to fall for that cute face.

Their features lit up as they noticed Taehyung walking down the hallway, Dr Jung snoring on his shoulder. They waved cutely skipping up to the pair “Taehyung-ah I missed you.” They pouted their plump lips.

“Jimin.” Taehyung smiled.

“Where have you been hiding?” Following with a question.

Jimin shoved the clipboard into the hand of some passing by nurse “oh I must tell you the details...it was magical!” His eyes lit up, almost like he was reliving it then and there, hands clasped together.

“Maybe, tell me later?” Taehyung replied smoothly, highly aware this was not the place to be talking about outside matters.

The last time Jimin’s eyes lit up like that was when he was at an orgy. The details were...interesting.

“Oh right.” Jimin lowered his voice, as if he had just forgotten where he was.

“Help me get Dr Jung to bed. I’m gonna need you to monitor his patient while he sleeps.” The order slipped out effortlessly, his authority clear,

“Yes Dr Kim.” Jimin happily agreed, opening the door for him to rest the sleeping surgeon.

He tucked him in and both left the room with a silent click of the door.

“I will be away for a little bit, it’s my time to feed. Ring me if anything major happens.” Taehyung said and chuckled when he noticed another pout on Jimin’s lips.

He wanted to squish his cheeks.

“No fair. We can’t hunt together. I miss it, the chase, the feed, the hot bloody se-.” Jimin said but stopped as he felt someone push his lips together.

“Not here.” Taehyung said, his tone sharp.

His eyes had darkened slightly.

Jimin nodded “I will go check on the patient, Dr Kim.”

The two parted with Jimin suddenly shouting “Hey who has my clipboard!?” He couldn’t stop the smile tugging at his lips.

And now, it was time to spill blood.
