This story was a deep exploration of the themes of redemption and the true meaning of strength. I wanted to subvert the classic “beauty and the beast” trope by making the central curse not something to be broken by a kiss, but a systemic, generations-spaning sin that the protagonists had to actively dismantle and heal. The relationship between Charlotte and Alaric is the engine of this change; it’s not about taming the beast, but about both characters evolving together—Alaric learning that strength lies in mercy and building a future, and Charlotte discovering that her compassion is her greatest power. The worldbuilding, from the icy courts of Caer Thorne to the budding settlement in the Northwood Valley, was designed to mirror their internal journey from a frozen, stagnant past to a vibrant, living future. Ultimately, it’s a story about breaking cycles of violence and building a new legacy, not from a place of power, but from a place of love.
The Wolf King's Last Bride is an epic romantic fantasy that follows Charlotte Duncan, a human healer who offers herself as the titular bride to a monstrous Wolf King to save her sister. She is taken to the frozen kingdom of Caer Thorne, where King Alaric must sacrifice a human bride every century to renew the magical Blood Pact that keeps the peace between their worlds. However, during the binding ritual, Charlotte's unique, moon-cursed blood rejects the magic, transforming her instead of consuming her. She survives, becoming something new and powerful, and shatters the ancient cycle. As Charlotte and the guilt-ridden, broken Alaric are drawn together by a dangerous and intoxicating bond, they uncover the horrific truth: the Pact is a lie. The first bride, Lyra, was not sacrificed but imprisoned, and every subsequent bride has been killed to fuel her eternal tomb. Charlotte's survival awakens a prophecy and incites a rebellion led by Alaric's exiled brother, Cael. To save both their peoples from war and destruction, Charlotte and Alaric must dismantle the rotten foundation of his kingdom, confront the ghosts of his past, and forge a new, fragile peace between wolves and humans—a peace built not on sacrifice, but on choice, trust, and a love powerful enough to break a centuries-old curse.

I hope you like them too.
