Chapter 1 : Genesis

"Hello, my name is Isaac and as of today, I have decided to end my life. I have tried to make it work. Sixteen years and seven months on this Earth have made me realize that I simply do not belong here—with these people, in this world. I entered foster care after both of my parents were declared missing; I bounced cities, schools, and families. Nothing really stuck with me. Every time I got attached to something, it was shortly gone not long after; it's as if an evil is looming over me. I never really had friends, nor did I go out of my way to make any... I never bothered to make a social life. What's the point of it when I'll wake up a week later to it all gone again, and again... and again? I'm not crying as I am writing this, though; I made peace with my life. It was never supposed to be. If you're reading this, you probably didn't know me either, but it doesn't matter anymore. By the time anyone finds this letter, I'll be long gone. That was all I had to say—all I had to get off my chest for the past half a decade. Tomorrow it'll all be over, so if any of the staff working here at the orphanage reads this: you took good care of me. Thank you.

— Isaac Rivera."

The words written on the letter lingered in the young boy's mind as he climbed the stairs. Step by step by step, he made his way to the top floor of a residential building. A heavy lump formed in his throat; he stepped ever closer to the ledge. It felt like hours just walking towards it.

Finally, it'll be over, he thought. No one's gonna miss me. I'll just stop existing for good! And as he looked down at the city lights below, he tilted over the edge. God can't be real... 'cause if He is, then... my life was His cruel joke.

He felt like he was flying, closing his eyes and smiling. I'm done.

SPLATTT! Was a sound he could not make out anymore, instantly dying on contact with the car below him.
