Chapter 1

Every love story begins with a promise.

A promise whispered beneath soft music.

A promise sealed with trembling hands.

A promise believed by everyone in the room.

But sometimes…

The happiest day of your life becomes the beginning of your greatest nightmare.

No one noticed it at first.

Not the guests.

Not the photographer.

Not even the groom.

Only one person saw what shouldn’t have existed.

And by the time she spoke…

It was already too late.

Aria Bennett woke with a smile.

Sunlight spilled through the curtains, warming the quiet hotel suite where she and Daniel had spent their first night as husband and wife.

A soft laugh escaped her lips as she turned toward him.

His side of the bed was empty.

She could hear the shower running.

Typical Daniel.

Always awake before sunrise.

She stretched, admiring the simple gold wedding band on her finger. It caught the morning light, reminding her that after months of planning, sleepless nights, and happy tears…

She was finally married.

Her phone buzzed on the bedside table.

Wedding Album Preview Ready.

Her heart skipped with excitement.

“So fast?” she whispered.

Without waiting for Daniel, she opened the gallery.

The first photograph appeared.

She smiled.

The flowers.

The white aisle.

The guests.

Everything looked perfect.

She swiped.

Another beautiful picture.

She swiped again.

Then her smile faded.

There was someone standing beside her.

A tall man.

He wasn’t Daniel.

He wore a charcoal-gray suit.

His face was calm.

His eyes were fixed on her.

Aria frowned.

“Who…?”

She zoomed in.

She had never seen him before.

Maybe one of the guests had wandered into the frame.

She swiped to the next picture.

The same man.

Different angle.

Standing closer.

Another photo.

Closer still.

Her heartbeat quickened.

She kept swiping.

Every picture.

Every single one.

The stranger was there.

Watching.

Standing beside her.

Sometimes smiling.

Sometimes looking directly into the camera.

Her hands began to shake.

“No…”

She searched through hundreds of photographs.

Ceremony.

Reception.

First dance.

Cake cutting.

Family portraits.

The stranger appeared in all of them.

Not hidden.

Not blurred.

As though he had been part of the wedding from the beginning.

The bathroom door opened.

Daniel stepped out, drying his hair.

“You’ve already started looking?” he asked with a grin.

Aria held up the phone.

“Daniel… who is this man?”

Daniel looked at the screen.

His smile disappeared.

Then confusion crossed his face.

“What do you mean?”

She pointed.

“This man.”

Daniel blinked.

“…Aria.”

“Yes?”

“That’s Rowan.”

She stared at him.

“Who’s Rowan?”

Daniel frowned.

“What kind of joke is this?”

“I’ve never seen him before.”

Daniel slowly lowered the phone.

His face had turned pale.

“…Aria…”

“He gave a speech at our wedding.”

The room fell silent.

Aria’s smile vanished.

“I think…” she whispered.

“…you’re remembering someone else’s wedding.”
