It was a harsh winter in Russia. The Germans' food supply had been freezing as they were advancing. Michael Wittmann was the head of the squad. He couldn't let his loyal soldiers or generals die in front of him. He knew he wouldn't survive if he kept advancing in this weather. With no option, he decided to go back to Germany.
