Summary

After Him is a deeply emotional, slow-burn romance about healing, rediscovery, and the kind of love that finds you when you least expect it. Natalie thought she had it all-until it was gone. Left reeling from betrayal and heartbreak, she retreats into herself, questioning everything she once believed about love and trust. With her world unraveling, she builds walls no one can seem to break through. Enter Jace. He's calm where she's chaos, steady where she's storm. But Jace has his own scars-and loving Natalie means stepping into a past neither of them are sure they can escape. As their lives begin to intertwine, Jace becomes the quiet strength she never knew she needed, while Natalie forces him to confront the truths he's buried for too long. This is not a love story that begins with fireworks. It begins after the explosion-after the pain, after the silence, after the end. But sometimes, what comes after... is everything.

Authors Note

When I first began writing this story, I never imagined how deeply it would touch me as I built it word by word. This book was born out of a desire to explore healing, love after loss, and the quiet power of resilience. Natalie and Jace's journey is personal—not just to them, but to so many of us who have known heartache, self-doubt, and the overwhelming beauty of finding peace in unexpected places.

Natalie's strength, her tender vulnerability, and her growth through motherhood came from the women I’ve known—mothers, sisters, friends, grandmothers—each of whom taught me something sacred about love. And Jace... he’s the kind of man I believe every woman deserves. Not perfect, but perfectly willing to grow, to stay, and to love deeply.

I wanted to write a story that felt real. One that didn’t shy away from the rawness of grief, the unpredictability of pregnancy, the trials of strained friendships, and the beauty of forgiveness. A story where intimacy means more than just passion—it means presence. And through every twist, craving, dance in the living room, and stolen kiss... this story stayed rooted in love.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing in Natalie and Jace’s journey. And above all, thank you for letting their story find a place in your heart.

With all my love,

Kiara Durgapursat
