"Bee, seriously? That's what you're wearing. You honestly think you can hide your mark from me? I'm your mother, I know..."

My mother's voice slowly faded out as I looked over at the full length mirror next to my double closet doors.

I was dressed in a black camisole tucked into a pair of light wash jeans and a black belt. Black ankle boots cover my feet and a silver necklace hangs around my neck.

"...you need to dress a little better. You could meet your soulmate at any time, Bee." My mother finishes and her hands fall back to her side as she is a hand talker.

"Mama, there's nothing wrong with what i'm wearing. I'm wearing a lot more than most girls these days. Plus I plan on putting on a cardigan." I tell her pointing to wear my dark burgundy cardigan and bag lay on my bed.

"Well, alright dear. You know I'm just looking out for you. But remember, you are beautiful Bee. No matter what you wear." My mother says and kisses my cheek before heading toward my bedroom door. "Come get some breakfast."

I give her a smile before walking over to sit at my vanity. My makeup was done light as usual. A nude colored eyeshadow with a small thin wing of eyeliner and a little mascara.

My cheeks were naturally rosie and light freckles danced across them. My medium brown hair now had a purple tint to it due to the dye i added two days ago.

I quickly added dotted a little red lipstick over my lips to make them have a little more color.

Fully satisfied I wander over to my bed to shrug on my cardigan and sling my back over my shoulder. I make my way out of my room, shutting the door behind me.

Once downstairs I see my mother all over the kitchen. She loves to create a decent spread for us in the morning. She's a firm believer in "breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

"This all looks great, Mama." I tell her grabbing some chocolate chip waffles, eggs and a couple pieces of bacon.

"Yeah, Mom. It's great."

"You always outdo yourself, honey. I the last batch of waffles before joining us.

"Y'all are some serious ass kissers."

After breakfast was done, me and my brother, Nic, say our goodbyes and I loves you's.

I grab my keys from the hook by the door and make way to my car.

I have a dark blue Jeep compass I've been saving up for since I was 14. I knew I wanted my own car and for that car to be what I wanted.

So when I turned 18 a friend if my dad's got one on his lot and told me I could have it. But I was a little short on the amount I needed so my parents pitched in the rest.

This is the best gift I've ever received.

I slip into the driver seat and my brother slips into the passenger seat. I set my bag down by my brothers feet and stick my key into the ignition.

My blue beauty roars to life and I slowly back out of the drive way. I turn down the street and head towards the high school.

I stop at the next stop sign and just as I'm about to pull out after looking both ways, a black limo speeds by in front of me.

I slam on the brakes, jolting me and Nic forward. I blare the horn at the limo before turning to my brother.

"Are you okay?" I ask him checking for any sign of injuries.

"I'm fine, Bee." He replies giving me a reassuring smile and adjusts his seat belt. "Promise."

I give him a slight nod before continuing on our way.

Little did I know my mark got a little bit darker.
