1 The Apple
They call this apple Ambrosia, a cross between Golden and Red Delicious. It fills my hand and the firm flesh begs me to take my first bite. The fruit is banded in both red and yellow fading from one to the other, with dappling spots between. The texture is smooth, flawless, not one bruise or scar perfect, and my mouth waters. The shape is more round than tall.As I set my teeth against it to take my first bite, I can smell the sweet crisp scent of the juice already starting to drip from the generous chunk I have freed. It crunches against my teeth and flavor explodes in my mouth. I thank the God’s for the first farmer who thought to make the jump and hybridize these apples. Sweet with just a hint of tartness, it is such a delight to my senses.
And, now I’m going to go have one. I can’t wait.
