Chapter 1

1642 ~ Bakara castle ~

Lady Vissera

Lying on my back watching the clouds float by.. I move slightly on the lush mossy bedding, trying to get myself more comfortable as I turn my head to the side and see my newest maid Thyria, exiting the back of the castle in search of me, she is roughly the same age as me but so sweet if not a little bit faint of heart.

I sigh as my time of being free of duties are over for today...

These days I have read all the books in our library, learnt all the needle point I can master, and have done enough dance classes that I am by far one of the best dancers in our kingdom.

I see a shadow pass over me, and look straight up once again, ah, a sparrow one of my favorite little birds to look at while sneaking away... To fly like that must be so freeing to see past these High walls to see the land and the hustle and bustle of the world from their view point must be incredibly beautiful.

Thyria will happen upon me soon if I don't get up soon, as I shake any remnants of dirt off of my disheveled dress, I hear my fathers booming voice calling out for me

I rush to the side of the garden where there is a beautiful sprinkling fountain, sitting down as fast as possible, hoping and praying my appearance is not too out of place as I hear his voice coming closer to the garden area.

He steps out into the sun, and scans the garden for any immediate threats, satisfied by his findings his gaze falls on me his only daughter.

I raise up and curtsy

~Father...

I raise up from my curtsy and look my father in the eye

~Viserra, how are you my daughter?

He always asks out of necessity, nothing more.

~Very well father, thank you for asking

He nods his head

~Good....where is Thyria?

Thinking fast, I replied

~Oh father I was parched, and asked her if she would be so kind to fetch me some sweet tea as it's a lovely day out in the gardens, she should be back very shortly.

He nods his head once more and says he has matters to attend to, I bid him a good day before he leaves and watch his back before it disappears once again into the castle walls...

~Lady Vissera- Thyria exclaims

Not only did I role my eyes I let out a huff and turned to were her voice was coming from

~Thyria?

She looks at me and throws up her hands

~ A lady does not leave without a maid, it's very unlady like, not to mention your beauty will most certainly make a man want to ravish you on the spot.

I raise a eyebrow and start laughing at her ridiculous comments

~Thyria, no, no, do not get so upset, I am laughing only at what your insinuating, pray tell where would I meet this man that would ravish me? as I am like a bird that is caged never to be let out?

Sympathy crossed her face for the barest of seconds before it was replaced by a mask.

~ My lady, you will one day meet the man of your dreams, riding into these castle walls when you least expect it...

I smile and nod as it will never be...

~Maybe...

Lady Vissera - bedroom

Sitting in my tub soaking the remnants of the day off of my skin, my mind drifts to this white knight that will sweep me of off my feet and take me away from this home that I have known my whole life to a brighter future....

It's only a fantasy as my father will never let me leave...

I cringe at the thought of never being merry and never having a husband of my own choosing....

As I drifted off to sleep, I fall into the same dream I have been having for months now

I am in a forest, I see these red eyes looking back at me as I walk backwards, and I am frightened, this creature is chasing me and the more I run the more I feel it breathing down my neck, smelling me and hissing at me...

Every morning I wake up with the same dream, the same fears and there is always this woodsy smell left in the aftermath....

This is very nice writing and you have a story to tell. Good grammar and spelling.  A couple of points; don't bold or italicize certain speech.  It is obvious who is speaking, just use the normal double quotes. Italics are sometimes used for unspoken thoughts, not for regular speech.  There is an occasional missing, but needed comma.  Apart from that... good start.
