What is your opinion?

Well enjoyable!

"This was a a fun read! The story reads through nicely, the author is quite good for pulling the readers in and making it immersive. The world is so well described and fleshed out it feels like the reader is actually there. The characters are well written and well rounded. The story was quite simple and easy to follow through, and I never felt lost for anything as the author explains this quite well in good details. There were quite a few mistakes in grammar, though it wasn't anything too serious. Overall I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to anyone who likes a fun fantasy. I wish tthe author well in future writings! "

My Review

"Wasn't really sure what I had gotten myself into once I first started but upon getting more into the story It was really wildly captive. It was written so well that I was immersed in the story until the very end. It is a long book for sure, but the best stories usually are. I would recommend this book because the author has a unique way of storytelling and I feel it's done in a way only this author know-how. Enjoy."

Very good!

"This was a enjoyable story so far. Your writing style is very engaging and descriptive enough that I can very much envision anything that's going on. Your characters are well written in a way that each character seem to have their own quirks and flaws and doesn't make them too lacking in depth and growth that some beginner writers have trouble writing characters in a way that engage our emotions. The amounts of details you put into this is pretty 'wow'. Mistakes such as grammar are pretty minor and don't distract from the story. Overall this is a pretty good story and I would recommend this to anyone and I wish you well on your future writings."

We are Kaspar!

"He is royalty but he is not treated as such. Abused, kicked, unwanted, Kaspar is forced to live in a dungeon even while his princely brothers enjoy the best of their privileged lives. Even death will not bring Kaspar peace, for suicide will tarnish his family’s reputation and he wishes to bring them no harm despite their abusive attitude towards them. But hopes lies with Terra and her mother. They do not treat Kaspar with disrespect even though this is seemingly the attitude of the entire kingdom. And with thirst love and acceptance he sees a new strength in himself ...a determination that suggests that the true king may have arrived in the guise of this humble looking child. Wow, I’ve been reading a lot of good stuff on Inkitt recently and that doesn’t happen terribly often. This is another well-written story. (I loved the prologue in particular- the idea of an infant’s arms becoming seperate whole identities. How creative is that?) There is a strong King Arthurian Sword in the Stone vibe here and yes this is a compliment. Author Alicia D’Tourna really knows how to build a suspenseful, compelling story. "

I Am Kapser

"The plot of the story is very original. This story is not a light read, as the story is very complex. Despite being complex the author makes it very understandable through word choice and tone. There are super small grammar mistakes. Overall once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is interested in fantasy. The book really takes you into a whole other world."

"This is such a fascinating story! Not only is the plot so unique, it’s very well written. You feel like you’re really with Kaspar every step of the way, and his decent into madness is conveyed so well. Your writing style is great, and the poems are superb—they add so much to the plot, and really end up being a focal point. This book catches your attention from the start, and then you can’t seem to stop reading! Great work!"

"Okay, this book might be one of my favorites I've found on Inkitt so far. The emotions seeping from Kasper's words are so raw, so real. You can really feel how he does. And even feel for him with how shittily everyone treats him. He seems like such a sweet guy from how he treats the bird and even his interactions with Terra and her mother. I was cheering for him when he stood up for himself to the teacher when it came to failing him over being colorblind. Even the poems are superb. They add depth to the overall emotions and an extra look into his emotions and his character overall. Also, nice touch with the kitten comparison plus how his family dyanmic is similar to that in the animal kingdom. Will be reading until the end, cheering for Kasper. You are such a talented writer. Keep writing!"

I am Kapsar, an interesting read

"I’ve covered about halfway through your book and I must say that it’s a unique yet sad read. (Sad stories are also just my thing as well) Kaspar is such a pure sweetheart at first, who doesn't adore him? And knowing how he is innocent through your descriptions of his thoughts makes me feel great sympathy for him when he’s subjected to unreasonable abuses and unfairness by those “dominant.” I think his insanity has every right to surface and show the others the monster they’ve raised in him. I love the way how Kaspar’s right mind transfers to the other darker side of himself. Your pace with the transition is wonderful. Though, in my opinion, perhaps you can add more physical descriptions and make them balance with the thoughts of the character, as well as adding more information about each scene to prevent confusion. If you intend to keep certain info for better plot twists later on, I completely understand. That aside, your narrative is well written, the metaphors intriguing. And there aren’t many mistakes at all! Great job and keep it up. I hope you’d achieve what you wish in writing! (I'm not a professional writer myself, so all of the above are only purely my honest ideas!) Happy writing!"

Great work!

"I just completed one-third of the book in one go and trust me it was worth it ! 😀 I loved that you used poems after every chapter to convey the feelings of protagonist. The transition of a innocent boy to a heartless person also felt natural.( I really feel bad for him😶😢) Though I was a bit confused in the first chapter as I wasn't exactly able to catch the sentences and had to reread them but it was a one time thing. Other than that .. I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR KASPER 😪 I loved your book. And I'm going to read till the last chapter cuz I can't stop wondering what happened next. Wishing u luck 🌼 "

Absolutely Beautiful!

"I loved it. It was so intriguing and filled with emotions and mystery, just....wow! Now, the outline and spacing of it was just genius, I liked how you interwove the poems that go along with the plot, they're like a premise in which you give readers a deeper insight of what's going on inside the protagonist's head, which is amazing! Another thing which was beautifully done was the depth of the protagonist himself, he was such a distinct, didactic and awesome character with so many layers to him. Very interesting and very strange sometimes, but that makes him the more enjoyable. Especially the part where we can't tell whether he's being rational or has gone completely insane! Makes him a hero but also a villain-like character. Plus, I love how this started off almost like a fable but then suddenly looks like a gore kind of tragedy thing. It's just so fantastic and pulls you in right away. The magic powers and how we're all expecting him to grow up into an incredible king also, making us have expectations and root for him, you've managed to engage readers right away as well which is very good! Please continue writing because I'm in love with the way you write, the constant metaphors and the way you use description is incredible and you inspire me so much! I'm so sorry again for delaying this for so long, I was waiting for you to get a bit further into the story, but along the line I actually forgot that I was meant to review it. Please forgive moi. Much love, Coffee x"

AMAZING!

"The story itself has a unique twist of magic to it. There's emotion and melancholy, but there's also something to look forward for, like Kaspar overcoming and enduring through. I loved his character and I loved the way you write, it's beautiful. The way you put in poems to depict his emotions, his insanity, just beautiful. I'm really impressed!!"

Super interesting!

"I like what's going on, and you have a pretty clear style. You have some natural talent. Here are some suggestions: Try to use less words. Sometimes you say some things in round about ways. Just go back through what you've written and look for places where you can simplify the language. Continue to describe the characters. There was a lot of info on the first page, and I honestly couldn't take it all in. I don't remember which character is which or what they look like. I have no idea what your narrator looks like... Except maybe he has one eye and sharp teeth. If you aren't already, use Grammarly to check your grammar. The last chapter needed a little more attention, and Grammarly will save you a ton of time, especially if you already have a good grasp of grammar. This doesn't feel sci-fi yet. If the only sci-fi elements are going to be the extra dimensions, I'd call this fantasy. As far as I can tell, sci-fi readers are really looking for hard sci-fi nowadays, but this fits right in with fantasy so far. This will help you find readers who will be satisfied with your book after picking it up. You're doing a great job. I really liked this hence why I actually read it... 😒 As opposed to pretending to do so. Keep the chapters short. Keep the story moving. Keep the reader informed. You really have a good foundation for the craft. Great job!"

This is gold!!!

"I'll start off with the chapters. At first, when I added this book to my reading lists, there were around forty chapters at first glance. When I began reading the book, There was more to this than just the chapters. The chapters are of good length and very easy to read. I loved how you decided to put bits of poetry in between climaxes, I love for them, the poems I mean! The story has an overall good flow and the plot seems very thought of. The descriptions are also well used and very vivid as we are brought to this world of the King of Hearts. When I first heard of Wonderland, I actually thought this was fanfiction, but it was better. The characters were all very enthralling and they were very livid. Seeing as we see this in Kaspar's view, we get very little detail on things that were major attributes of his life, to which we get in the end. The story definitely isn't for the best of start, the mc living a very horrible life, and I found myself at times very scared of him. Another factor I liked. bringing imagination to reality and making it look convincing can be hard at times, but this was well suited. You didn't just tell us, you showed us. You showed us his pain, his madness, and every emotion in the book. You can keep the mystery in the book very well and still keep us in touch with the book. As for grammar and editing, I spotted a few, but they were rare, which also made the book a hundred times more interesting. The character development was also on point as we were seeing the main protagonist have the intellects of a king yet he was a child. The potholes smoothed out nicely and this was just lovely...overall. I can't wait to see more of your works!"

Great Start

"I really liked the premise of your story a lot. The elements of magic and fantasy really make it for me, and I think your story has a massive amount of potential. Now, I can tell our writing styles are vastly different, but putting that aside, this is my critique. There were several times I was put off by descriptive clauses and adverbs that stuck out of the flow of your writing. For instance, when you used the word "chrysoberyl" for yellow. Like Mark Twain said: "When you catch an adjective, kill it. No, I don’t mean utterly, but kill most of them – then the rest will be valuable. They weaken when they are close together. They give strength when they are wide apart.” (citation will be the link at the bottom). This quote is something I use when writing to make the thesaurus a friend not foe. My suggestion, and that's all that is, would be to give your writing over to a trusted friend or maybe a family member to check for flow. Having another pair of eyes has always helped me with writing my book. Again, I really liked the story and your style. I just think you might want to look back at some of your word choices. Really interesting so far!

"I absolutely loved what I read so far. It was really refreshing to see a new take on the whole Wonderland/madness/royalty trope. I'm also a sucker for the underdog rises to take his rightful place type of story. There were very minor grammar mistakes so I wasn't sure if I should give you a 3 or 4 but ultimately I gave you a 3 only because some sentences were hard to follow. It's very sophisticated (which I appreciate) but some places it did seem just a little bit too much? If that and the minor spelling was fixed it could easily be a 4 or even a 5. Otherwise I really really like your writing style. I love the main character and really feel for him. I haven't finished and will definitely continue. Also, I really liked the poems! They were a fun little emotional rollercoaster. All in all, really excited to see where this one leads! I'm new to this platform and this one is my fav rn. :) "
