Hiraya Manawari (ENGLISH)

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

Black hair that runs down to her knees, eyes the shade of chestnut, and lips as red as roses. Her whole body submerged in water as her white dress dances beneath. She lifts her hand, palm open, and uttered the words, "Help me, set me free." Fiction. The word echoed in Lalaine’s mind every time she sees the mysterious girl in her dreams. But everything changed a few days before her 18th birthday. Creatures she could only think of as imaginary started appearing before her one by one, creatures she have only read and seen in books before, brimming with life and surrounded by magic and wonders—calling her the child of all that is good and evil. The savior they were looking for, "Hiraya Manawari."

Prologue

“Wait what are going to do to her, Anselmo?”

I was halted in my tracks when I heard that raspy voice. I took a deep breath before I turned around to face the God of the Sun. I knelt down to show my respect. My grasp tightened on the sleeping small creature wrapped in my embrace before I lifted my gaze to meet his.

“I need to get her out of here!” my voice echoed throughout the corridor. I saw how his blazing red hot eyes move to look at the baby. He heaved a sigh and signaled me to stand up, “How many times do I have to tell you, you don’t need to kneel in front of me.”

He then looked around to see if there was anyone listening in on us before shifting his gaze back to me, “Why do you have to separate her from us?” he asked.

I then stood up and continued walking. Apolinario followed me and walked by my side. Our footsteps echoed in the halls as the candles begin lighting up one by one as we pass them.

I looked at the baby, “She’ll only be in danger here, Apolinario,” I said. I darted him a glance, “She’s a child brought upon by my mistakes and I don’t want to get her involved in this whole mess. I won’t be able to forgive myself if anything happened to her.”

Apolinario stretched out his hand and silently tapped my shoulder. The pleasant heat from his body radiated towards me. He is the embodiment of life and death, the heat radiating from him can bring healing and destruction. It is sad to think that even with his powers, he won’t be of help to me and my situation.

“I respect your decision, Anselmo. But I think it would be better if you just accept her and raise her here,” suggested Apolinario. I gently shook his hand off my shoulder and looked away shaking my head in disagreement.

“You wouldn’t understand,” I said, “She needs to get away from here as soon as possible. We don’t know this child’s destiny! Will she be the savior, or the very thing that will destroy this world?!”

I returned my gaze to Apolinario, “She’s safer in the mortal world,” I exclaimed. I could see the worry in Apolinario’s blazing eyes, “How will you be able to protect her when the people who want her dead finds out about?”

I smiled lightly and stared at the baby in my arms. “I already spoke to Anito about this,” I said, “He’ll be able to do something about it, that way I can still look after her even when I’m far away.”

“Good and evil, two opposite energies flowing in that fragile little body of hers. She may very well be the one to break the balance.” Apolinario folded his arms behind him and asked, “Why did you even step down from your place, Anselmo?”

I nodded my head in respect and took my leave, “I’m sorry but I can’t answer that right now.”

Apolinario didn't say anything and allowed me to leave. I proceed with my plans. When I left the palace I headed straight to the garden. The guards saw me from the distance and set aside their swords to allow me passage.

I was surrounded with grass of various shades of green swaying in the wind with countless flowers of various colors, and in the middle of it all was a river reflecting the moon’s beautiful light. I knelt on the ground and placed the baby on a leaf imbued with magic to keep it afloat. I released my hold and let the baby flow down the river as it started crying.

I bit my lip in fear as I gazed upon my child flowing down the river, “Be careful, my child.” I closed my eyes and clasp my hands together to pray, “Malyari, goddess of the moon and the eight rivers, listen to my prayer.”

A strong gust of wind then blew. The sky was roaring with thunders as the rain began to pour. I could hear the dancing of the flowers as the wind howled. It was as if they were dancing to say farewell to my daughter.

“I leave her in your hands,” I repeatedly prayed until everything calmed. I slowly opened my eyes and fell to my knees, wiping the tears gushing from my eyes.

“Forgive me my child,” I cried in a weeping voice, “You are both a blessing and a curse to this world. I do not want harm to befall you.”

“When the time comes, I promise I will come for you,” I said as I got up from the ground. I then lift my eyes to the heavens, “You will know why I sent you to a world you never belonged.”

My Second Chance

kitkatbar29: So this first book in this series I liked. A good plot that flowed well for the most part with some twists along the way, good well developed characters... there are a few technical mistakes, but nothing to harsh. I must say toward the end of the book there were some issues with like a quick change ...

THE ALPHA WHO REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE

Merrell Bunting: This story has a unique take on the shifter world. It is fairly quick moving and holds your interest but has some pretty glaring continuity issues which are distracting. I also did not care for the male lead’s complete refusal to acknowledge any emotional feelings for his mate. He always referred to...

Kritta_820: I enjoyed the storyline immensely and felt that it devolved from the average "small puny female wolf finds a royal mate." Sometimes the jumps between scenes and plots jumped ahead a little too far for my taste. For example when MC heard the update about her first mate the book suddenly changed to th...

AS: The writing here is clean, polished, and flows so naturally that it was a real pleasure to read.Isla is a great protagonist. Her self-deprecating humor made her feel real (the squirrel's tail and the upside-down trees in the epilogue had me laughing), and her skills as a healer and her growth into h...
