Cheers for the Reed:
Not long before my move to the city of modern explorers,
There was a legendary friend of mine
Who always looked good in a mirror
And would be faster than a canine,
Though at firsthand,
It appeared he wouldn’t make the first-place stand
Ben was once an average runner
Who was always nice to others,
Including sister Anna and friend Jennifer Lux,
But whose overall strength couldn’t handle catching for a cunner
In ice cold waters of Alaska and also limited his druthers
To choose what events to choose, would’ve never carried a Middle Age poleax
Jennifer and others, such as Sarah Lichtman,
Believed in him and when thinking of snooty Dow,
Ben, along with friend Lex Hollenbeck,
Had a brilliant plan
To let their true colors shine and wow
Everyone at 2010 track see every sec
Of their strengths and speeds
Improve and guide all Chemics with valuable leads
Eventually having the all-time best time of 15:42
For the old 5k race,
Ben was always thankful for his crew
Who spread luck and grace
For him and Midland High
As his mhs experiences were almost at nigh
Along with his cute, Pooh Bare mom and charming daddy,
All who know him shall continue to praise the lad
While being as useful as a baseball batty
And being a college runner and University of Michigan grad!
