Omg read this story its brilliant. Full on romance that makes you smile.

"This is a brilliant story, it's heartfelt and sweet yet has darkness and jeopardy. The characters suck you in, you're rooting for the successes yet wanting those that are wrong to be caught. This story is well written its a page turner that you have to keep reading. If you want hot sex scenes that this isn't for you, if you want to read a story that makes you smile and makes you want to read the next chapter as you have to know they'll be ok then this is for you. 100% true romance and I loved it xxx"

The Root of Misbelief

"The Root of Misbelief is a Romance/Drama. It delivers both. There is a content warning for off-screen rape and assault. These themes are handled with sensitivity and are integral elements of the plot. The romance develops through many sweet, quirky incidents, including caring for sick chickens and building a chicken coop. An appealing strength of the narrative is the conflicted dislike/love emotions towards each other of the leading characters, Clem and Rohan. This is counterpoised by the scheming machinations, the small-town sense of superiority, and how dare you question our family’s reputation from the Reese's. A trio of characters who drive the shadier themes of the story; Mrs Reese, her son Kristian and their relation, Sherriff Reese. The secondary cast is exceptionally well-rounded, especially Clem's father, Charles, and Mooresville locals, Makenna and Michael. A delightful range of off-centre minor characters are terrifically sketched, too. Enjoy meeting Dr Hammond and the geriatric mayor, McGill. A compelling narrative that questions gossip in a small town whilst exploring quality themes around the courage to fight for right and risking opening your heart. "

Review

" I enjoyed reading this book because I love romance in any form :). The story starts alright, with a girl not so pleased with her life. And then she finds out about her dad’s health problems and moves with him. Even if Rohan is the bad guy, I love his interactions with Clementine - you can feel the tension and the attraction also. The writing flows just right, and the dialogue is clean and realistic. The story is straightforward and flawless, and the characters are real and complex - in a word well-crafted. Their arc is clear and well-built. The plot is engaging, and it will keep you gripped. The grammar is good, with no mistakes. I loved reading this book. It has all you need to relax and “live” a complicated love story. "

Dark and Broody man in the Woods

"Review: 2023-02-06 “The Root of Misbelief” by Mayaserana TAGS: Contest, Read to Chapter 29 PROS: Characters are well-written, and no two characters feel alike. Misbelief has a mystery, a good number of character troops, a blooming romance, the outsider trying to fit in, and rescue the family member. Good mix of story elements. You can cheer for the good guys and boo for the bad guys. CONS: None off the bat that I can find. BEST CHARACTER: I hate to say it, but I like Mr. Ass, aka Mr. Rohan Evergreen (Mr. Dark and Broody). He’s an ass, alright; he is the untrusted outsider but can place a punch when necessary. BEST LINE: “I know nothing about clothes, but make sure you wear comfortable shoes, just in case they hunt us with pitchforks.” - Mr. Evergreen. OVERALL: The story has nice the makings of Beauty and the Beast. Mr. Evergreen reminds me of the Beast, and Clementine reminds me of Beauty. The story is a good page-turner; ensure you read it to the end. IMPROVEMENT: I'm unsure where I can help; just keep plugging away - I can easily follow the story. // Inkit Scoring How do you rate this story overall? 5 Stars - No Story is perfect; five stars. How do you rate the plot of this story? 4 Stars - Mystery, romance, and drama. A good mix of both fear and misunderstanding. It is a tale as old as time, Beauty and the Beast. How do you rate the author's writing style? 5 Stars - Just Fine. I can understand the flow, and the characters are likable and believable. How do you rate the author's technical writing skills? (Punctuation, Grammar, etc.) 5 Stars - I have a more challenging time with punctuation and grammar. I can understand where the writer is going if I can read it. It’s all good."

GEA review!

"I think it's no secret that I am really enjoying this story so far. All the characters jump off the page and the conflicts are masterfully layered and intertwined and provide a fun, gripping reading experience. I'm so invested in this story! Clementine's want to help her father is a great backbone and provides a lot of stakes and gives her character a great reason for being in Moorsville in the first place! Kristian and his arc are very well done and kept me on the edge of my seat, and Clementine and Rohan's interactions are fantastic and so much fun to read, as well as it being interesting to see how these two develop together. The writing style flows very nicely and the chapters are I think the perfect length, and when many of the chapters end on a cliffhanger how can you not keep reading? I thought the grammar was very polished as well, with few mishaps, but nothing major. Overall, this is a well done story with gripping characters and a plot that is keeping me turning the pages! (or I guess in this case, keeping me scrolling?) nonetheless, really amazing job!! :)"

An Absolute Delight!

"When she receives a call that her father is ill, Clem Morgan leaves her job and house and drives to Mooresville, determined to save her father's life. Little did she know that arriving at that city was like stepping into a minefield, or that the first person she came across would be the key to solve all her problems. In "The Root of Misbelief", Maya crafts an adorable enemies-to-lovers story between two socially awkward individuals who are faced with the town's hatred and hardships that force them to join hands. The plot was engaging from the beginning to the end, and loose ends met, but I found some parts of the story predictable. At first, I didn't like that Clem was naive, but the way she grew throughout the story—both she and Rohan—was pretty satisfying and lovely. Maya has the knack for gripping readers through her crisp style and sense of humor, and it was such a delight to read her story! Amazing!🌻"

Excelent story, want more please!!!

"Fascinante la trama, atrapadora, de fácil lectura, como todos los libros de esta autora. Lo que no me gusta es tener que esperar por más, pero tendré paciencia, las cosas buenas de la vida se demoran. Lo recomiendo 100% a todos los que gusten de la buena lectura y la fantasía. Para todo público. Excelente!!!!!!"

Monotonous

"It got quite monotonous (emotionally and event-wise) until the fight between Clem and Rohan around chapter 10. It's also a little cliche and the dialogue (especially Clems) reads like a kid or a teenager. Use plot points (finding out her dad is ill, getting a job, coming across a scary stranger on the street) to explore the character's psyche/emotions. Needs to get more interesting. Hopefully there's a twist somewhere soon."
