Chapter 1 Accidental Flight
“You have passed and have been selected as a scholarship holder...”
A message came in, Gin was stunned as he read the contents of the message. His heart was pounding so fast at every word his eyes caught from his smartphone screen.
How come?
After days of waiting, finally the news about his graduation as a scholarship recipient at his dream campus arrived. Moreover, the news he got was a wish come true. Gin almost threw his smartphone away, as he was so overjoyed that he graduated as a scholarship recipient.
Not having adequate finances, Gin, who lives alone, really needs this scholarship. That way, he can actually study at the campus of his dreams without having to think about the burden of the costs needed while he is studying there.
Not knowing what would happen next, Gin just felt enthusiastic about going there.
...
Dark clouds cover the entire sky above the Black Sea, even so that there is a storm in the ocean and make the waves crash wildly.
No one knows, behind the dark clouds there are several vampires floating in the air. One person seems to be under siege, she is a woman who looks very beautiful in such a limited field of view. There are three other people who are staring at the woman who is being surrounded with eyes as if she is their prey.
“Come on Erina, just give up!” shouts one of them towards the woman they are surrounded by calling Erina.
The others are the same. They seem reluctant to treat Erina harshly, but they wouldn’t let her go even if harsh treatment is inevitable. Don’t know what they want from Erina, their gazes don’t look like people who intend to harass her. Moreover, one of those who surrounds Erina is a woman.
“Hmph! You’ve made it this far, even against your own best friend? Is it just because of your strength that you want to sacrifice our friendship?” Erina shouts looking at the three people who surround her in disbelief.
Friendship destroyed, just because of sheer ambition? How ridiculous... thinks Erina who smiled bitterly knowing that, in fact, her best friend isn’t much different from other vampires.
“Friendship? Don’t be naive, Erina. Won’t you support us to become stronger? That way, we’ll protect you with the power we have from-...” The woman with slightly curly hair was cut off her words.
“Doesn’t that make me more naive?” Erina looks at the woman in front of her with a sharp gaze.
“Come on, stop this nonsense. I’m sorry Erina, but we’re forced to use brute force to make you do our bidding…” says a man behind Erina, he is preparing to attack her. Even though he did say sorry, it was clear that it was just a word without any feelings implied in it.
Thus, a one-sided battle is inevitable.
Erina can be quickly cornered by the three friends-... to be more precise, only three parasites who want to eat their host and now the three of them without any sympathy want to give a final attack that can make Erina helpless.
But before that happens, a plane what the three of them are not aware of appears suddenly and messes everything up.
Annoyed, the three of them attack the plane what hit them with tremendous force making the plane that is so large covered with very strong material just shattered.
Taking advantage of their carelessness, Erina quietly walked away from there.
...
As Gin was quietly gazing at the clouds that seemed to be moving past him, a violent jolt startled him, or shocked the entire occupant of the plane.
Dark clouds that are unpredictable by modern equipment that suddenly appear are said to be undetected, just ordinary dark clouds. However, didn’t the modern equipment go wrong? thought the pilot who was astonished, because he knew best the condition of the plane he was piloting.
The occurrence of such a violent shaking was like a plane crashing into a large iceberg in a black cloud which even though it seemed unreasonable for the Pilot to estimate the size and density of the iceberg that could create such a violent shaking.
Usually, at most when it passes through condensed clouds, the aircraft will only experience vibrations and not make the shocks experienced by the pilot this time. With an uneasy feeling, the Pilot just hoped that something bad won’t happen.
But not long after the plane was shaken, an explosion is heard.
Gin rubs his eyes, can’t believe what he’s seeing. In front of his eyes, an explosion occurrs. The sound makes his eardrums burst, making Gin unable to hear anything at all what is happening in front of him. Just looking without being able to hear, Gin is like watching a theater without music.
If Gin doesn’t feel the shock, maybe he would just take it as a show. But with the chaos arriving where he is sitting, he doesn’t even know what happened next.
Suddenly, Gin can’t feel anything, hear anything else, and more importantly there is only darkness he can see now or maybe he’s not looking? That is the reason, he is unable to witness such a terrible event until it happened to him. Don’t know what happened to his body, but Gin just wants to focus first on the environment around him. He is still confused, exactly what place it is. Only darkness he can see, while he does not feel whether he still have a body or not.
A screen pops up startling Gin as his gaze was still combing around, trying to find something for him to look at.
“The one who gets blessing of system?” Gin frowns, or so he is trying to do. Somehow, he can’t feel his own body. Even so, he still tries to think with his head and doesn’t lose his mind.
The screen that appeared, like the screen is telling Gin that he is the one chosen to get the blessing of the system. A detailed explanation of the system is indeed listed on the screen, but Gin doesn’t seem to have any interest in reading the contents of the screen or indeed he doesn’t want to read it yet.
Actually, this strange occurrence should have made Gin panic. But somehow, Gin doesn’t feel that surprised. He himself doesn’t know why.
“Obviously, I have to know first what this really is...” Gin points at the screen in front of him, then the contents of the screen changes surprisingly to contain several boxes that seem to be hiding something.
‘I should have read the text on the home screen...’ Gin says in his mind feeling regret.
Judging from the writing at the top of the screen, the boxes should contain some kind of random gift. There’s a mark in the top right corner of the screen, but Gin seems to be fixated on the grid that looks the same on the screen.
“In other words, I have to choose one of the boxes, huh...”
Following his intuition, Gin lets his hands move without hesitation towards the matrice in the center of the screen. After that, the box touched turns into a shard of light that returns to form a new screen next to the home screen.
The screen is like a kind of notification that Gin got a jewelry. This made Gin frown, thinking that this might just be a joke. However, didn’t everything that just happened feel so real? he thinks who found it difficult to accept the reality.
Jewelry obtained: Archer Form Ring—A ring capable of transforming into a bow made of energy. The arrows will be formed automatically using the imagination of the ring user. CD: 0 seconds Mana: 2 per arrow.
The screen showing the grid is still there, then Gin turned to the question mark which he sees as something containing a guide or something that can answer some of the questions in his mind. He then touches it, hoping that his guess is right so he can figure out some things from it.
From the sign, Gin found quite a lot of things. For one thing, he is able to choose the reward two more times which it said was to compensate for what just happened.
“It seems, what happened earlier wasn’t just an accident…”
Another box is touched again which immediately becomes a new screen to show what gifts Gin got.
