Chapter 1
Melody Pov
It's been months since the war ended and there hasn't been any sign of Lloyd, everything has been kind of peaceful, well I say peaceful. "Babe are you ready to go to the hospital yet?" Conner shouts from the bathroom causing me to frown at the door. "Of course, I'm ready, I've been ready for twenty minutes." I shout causing him to poke his head out the door. "It's you who is taking too long," I say pouting as I stand from the bed. Conner walks out from the bathroom towards me, "It's not my fault," he pouts, pulling me into his arms. "How else did you expect me to take the news," he says as he kisses down my neck.
"Conner," I moan out as he kisses down my neck, towards my mark on my shoulder, "we don't have time for this," I manage to say in between small moans as he reaches my mark. I reluctantly manage to pull away causing Conner to let out a slight growl, "we need to go to the hospital," I say with a stern look on my face. Conner pouts causing me to let out a slight giggle, "come on you have already made us late," I say brushing past him as I walk quickly walk past him. He lets out a huff as he turns to face me, "that's not fair, you are well faster," he pouts following behind me as I walk out the door.
It doesn't take us long to reach the hospital as we park the car, "you nervous," Conner asks me as we exit the car. "Nope," I say causing a slight chuckle to slip from his lips as he rushes to my side of the car, giving me a quick kiss before slipping his hand into mine, we begin to walk towards the hospital hand in hand. Once inside we head to the specific ward, "Melody how nice to see you," Sarah says coming from around the corner. She sniffs the air, her eyes lighting up in happiness as she realises why we are there, "You remember the way," she says causing me to nod as we turn towards the room, we need to go in.
"Good evening, Melody," Dr Jones says with a smile as I sit on top of the bed, "Good evening, Dr Jones," I say back as Conner takes a seat beside the bed. "If you don't mind lying down and lifting up your top," Dr Jones says her grin growing with every word. "I will place this jelly on your belly, it's going to be cold," she says causing my smile to mirror hers as she places the jelly on my belly. She flicks on a machine, before grabbing a handheld device, placing the device on my belly she begins to move it around. "And there's the little nuggets," Dr Jones says as she turns to face the screen. She clicks the screen before turning to face me, "It's twins," she says causing Conner to jump from his seat, "Yes," he shouts as he comes beside me, pulling me into his arms. He begins to kiss my forehead, "I love you so much Melody," he whispers as we both look over at the screen. The two nuggets on the monitor causing our hearts to swell huge, "I love you too," I whisper, turning my head to find my mates lips.
We kiss passionately for a moment before Dr Jones clears her throat, looking slightly embarrassed as a blush begins to creep up my neck, I turn to face the Doctor. "Sorry," I whisper causing a slight giggle to slip from her lips, "It's fine Melody we are all extremely happy for you," she says smiling as she gives me paper towels to clean myself. She turns towards the machine, pressing another button before quickly turning it off. "I'm just going to go get your photos," she says gesturing towards the door behind her. I nod as I finish cleaning myself, turning back towards Conner, "twins," he says looking excitedly as he tries to pull me closer into him. I let out a small giggle as I try to pull away from my mate slightly, "you are going to squash the babies," I giggle out causing him to instantly release me from his grasp. Panic begins to flash across Conners face as he begins to apologise over and over again, "I'm so sorry Melody, I'm sorry," he says placing a hand on my belly. I lift my hand in the air, placing it on his cheek as I try to soothe my mate down, "Conner I was joking," I whisper causing a flash of emotions to run through his eyes before letting out a sigh of relief.
"You are not going to hurt me or the babies," I say making sure he fully understands what I am saying. Dr Jones enters the room, looking from me then to Conner, "are you both ok," she says, confusion settling on her face. I turn to face Dr Jones, nodding I reassure our doctor that everything is fine, giving me a small nod back she hands me over the scan photos, "here's your pictures," she says as I look down at the images in my hand. My heart swelling with so much love as I look at the two nuggets in the image before turning towards Conner, "I love you," I whisper showing him our two nuggets in the image as I turn to climb off the bed. The moment my feet touch the floor Conner lets out a slight growl, placing a hand behind my back and the other under my knees, he quickly lifts me from the ground. "You are carrying precious cargo now Melody," Conner says turning towards the door as he carries me bridal style, I whine out in protest as exits the room. Once outside the room everyone begins to cheer and roar, causing me to look around slightly shocked as my eyes open wide like saucers, "Congratulations Melody," everyone shouts causing a blush to spread across my whole face.
