Chapter 1
The twins Mia and Maxie stood watching as one of their best friends prepared to leave for her grandmothers house over 500 miles away in a small town in South Carolina.
Lexie, their friend had been a bystander, just yesterday when Jody was attacked. SheriAnne, who initiated the assault was Lexie’s classmate and school buddy, but was standing back by the door with another classmate when it happened, both girls ran out to get help, but were stopped abruptly, by a security monitor who was doing bathroom rounds. They both pointed towards the interior of the bathroom in a panic.
Lexie’s parents thought it behooved them to move Lexie away for at least a year where she might be away from SherriAnne’s influence.
