Summary

How far can you push the boundaries? A different house than the one you live in? A New Job? A completely different city? A new life in a country you've never seen? And on top of that, love… I, Leyla Ziyad, was searching for answers to all these questions in an Asian country when I found myself in the middle of a life I never expected. Just as I found love, it was only a matter of time before it slipped out of my hands. We were on the stage on this road, where we went out of sight in the nooks and crannies where longing and passion united us. And all the flashes were going off towards us. And now there were giants and countries among us. Dec. Was I going to overcome them and pursue my passions with the love of Park Joon Woo, a Hallyu star, or was I going to be left alone with my fears?

Chapter 1

I looked at my phone, which did not shut up because of consecutive phone calls and messages, and started examining all the magazines and news sites on the links my friends from the group had posted. There was only one topic in all of them that was entered as a breaking news story with big punts.

“Will there be a statement from JM Entertainment about the scandal of the famous actor?”

“How did the Jooniers react?”

“The most striking Netizen comments are at Soompie”

“Who is the woman hiding under the hat?”

Today I was being sent by my father to South Korea for some business deals. We were going to start a company there, and according to my father, I was the most suitable candidate to run the company there. Actually, it wasn't because I was the most suitable candidate, but because, according to my father, it was necessary for me to come to my senses.

According to him, I was living life very rudely. Did I care about that, well, never…

My only goal was to have a job where no one interfered and to be happy. I had somehow sorted out the business issue, but happiness was not something that would happen for me alone. My father wanted me to marry the son of one of his business partners in exchange for being able to do the job. Although it sounds ridiculous, I accepted this offer because nothing would change for me. Marriage was not very important to me, but the thought of building my own life made this offer attractive to me.Of course, it also didn't impress that our spouse candidate was extremely charismatic and handsome.

Whether it was for me or not, this marriage path that I had set out with the idea had become ridiculous after we got engaged. Although I liked him, my father's very precious groom candidate, my fiance, was avoiding me as much as possible. I thought he just didn't like me, but actually, it didn't take long for him to say that he had been a lover for a long time, that he got engaged to me because his father forced him, and that I should finish this job without marriage. I think when he realized that I wasn't going to force him into marriage, he felt the need to ask me for help.

Of course, our respect for love was eternal. I said that I would never want anyone who did not want me, and I decided to confront my father..

As a matter of fact, even before I could tell my father that I didn't want this marriage, the guy's girlfriend got pregnant.

And the man who was still wearing our engagement ring came to tell me the good news along with his girlfriend. Sister, okay, we understand that most of all your lover will be the father of your baby, okay, but I could hardly help myself not to say that if you had taken a breath at this speed.

It's a little strange not to be wanted or liked so much, so it's weird.

Me, my fiance and his pregnant girlfriend, we are a big family, and of course he got mad when he told my father that this would not happen. He totally blamed me. He claimed that I failed to impress and hold in my hands. Because I am a spoiled girl who does not think about her future, she found it convenient to send me into exile under the pretext of starting a new company.

Before my father exiled me, I was exporting shoes and wristwatches of my own design to African and South Asian countries via e-commerce. Most importantly, I was free in my job.

And now I was looking between the concrete piles, with four cold walls. Dec.

When I arrived in Seoul with a brain and body that had been through jet lag after a delayed flight of almost 12 hours, my childhood friend Banu, who had arranged everything for me here, welcomed me first to his own house and then took me to the house he had hired for me to live.

And now I was lying idly on my bed and watching the ceiling. In my apartment in a skyscraper-like building, the thing was overly technological. I was overwhelmed before it was even a day.

I was watching the ceiling from where I was lying and thinking. I should have gone to a normal house.

“I can't live like this. The toilet seat is talking.”

I stopped watching the ceiling any more and made myself tomorrow's program. The top of the list was finding a new house and meeting with the teacher for my unfinished Korean learning job.

After the last two weeks, we still hadn't found a house.Dec. I was trying to improve my Korean because I laid the foundation in Turkey. I made some mistakes when I was talking, but they should have managed him now.

Since my father opened the company building in the Gangnam district, where there are big brands, before I arrived, Banu will have considered it appropriate for my house to be here, so I didn't have any difficulty walking to and from the company. But such a high class and Korean social life would tire me out. I wanted a normal place. I should have been in Itaewon or something.

My dad and my friend, who thought of everything, had also thought of a car for me, but I wasn't riding much because I hadn't gotten used to the traffic here yet.

And the other morning, when I wanted to take a tour to try it out, I bumped into a guy who was celebrating the houses. Yes, it was my fault, but the guy was walking slowly like he was walking on the podium, so what could I do if I touched the wheel a little on his leg.

Nothing had happened from Allah, and I had escaped from his hand. I think he also stopped complaining because he realized that I was a stranger. Strangely, during the time we were arguing, or rather, I was trying to argue because of my novice speech, he did not take off his sunglasses or his hat that shaded his face. When I was telling Banu about what was happening, I described the man as Mr. best model of the Kore.

Yes, from now on, everyone I will hit because they walk mangy mangy was the best model of the Kore.

Banu was organizing a dinner for me tonight. He had called his friends in Korea, acquaintances from the Turkish consulate and everyone I knew.

Gathered around a long table, I met everyone I didn't know one by one. Banu's fiancée Can, consulate officer Ayşen abla and her husband, one of Banu's colleagues Kim Ji Hoon and his girlfriend Park Mi Hi were sincere people, but my morale was not much better than being exiled.

I moved away from the table a little and started drinking something in the bar section of the restaurant. This was a really nice place. So is the city, but no matter where you go, as long as you don't get rid of the restlessness in your head. Even your best moments become poison.

I missed my family. My father, who is constantly thinking about my future and is worried about educating me, my brother, even though he always seems distant and cold to me, and my sister, whom I have not seen for years…

I put my head on my side on the arm that I stretched out towards the table and started watching the cheerful state of my new friends at the table standing in front of me. With the trembling of my phone, I turned my eyes to the incoming message from the table I was immersed in. My close friend Derya in Turkey had sent a voice message.

"Invite me to your wedding, darling. I will be your witness if you want. If anyone asks who this woman is, you'll say she's my ex-fiancée, sweetheart." When I listened to the audio recording that he threw away nonsense, I understood what he meant by the photo he sent.

My ex-fiancé Selim and his pregnant girlfriend Zeycan were smiling at the photo frame as if there were no tomorrows when they received their marriage certificate from the wedding officer.

There wasn't even a single frame photo from our engagement. The bastard sulked all night, treated me like I was a plague. No lie, I liked him.

They owed me that painting, but they even saw a lot of thanks. Let them be happy anyway, there's a baby in the middle after all.

It is not known whether it was from longing or from all the emotions I suppressed, a drop of tears came down from my eyes as I looked at the screen. Normally, if it was you, “Leyla Ziyad, come to yourself.” I should have said and shut up, but today I had another hearing. As I was trying to pull myself together, I noticed that the stool next to me had been pulled out and someone was sitting down. When he said his order, his voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember that voice.

Finally, he turned to me and said, “Hyde during the day and Dr. So you're becoming Jekyll." said.

“What are you talking nonsense about?” I said, trying to understand. “Besides, he was just the opposite.”

“No, it works against you. Hyde is the woman whose jaw drops like a witch to get the upper hand even though she's wrong by day, and Dr. Hyde who sheds tears on a bar stool by night. He turns to Jekyll.”

When he realized that I still didn't understand what he was trying to say, he said, “Of course, you wouldn't recognize it without glasses and a hat.”he said and held out his hand. “Mr. best model of the Kore, the castaway you gave up crushing on the way at the last moment.”

It was once that I found myself laughing when he said that. So I held out my hand and shook hands.

"Leyla Ziyad, my pleasure, Mr. annoying and careless.” He responded to this sentence with a laugh.

“Besides, I didn't try to crush you on purpose. Just a moment of thoughtfulness. Sorry.”

“It doesn't matter, next time I'll stop crushing you, too, and we'll get even.” When you said that, I responded with laughter.

“What's your name?” I said curiously.

“Don't you really know?”

“Can't it be seen from there that I'm a stranger? How am I supposed to know about you?”

He bowed his head to the ground and laughed, “You're right.” The thin, long dimples that formed on her cheeks when she was laughing were extremely noticeable. Since I've been here, I've seen close-to-brunette Korean men almost everywhere. For some reason, they all seemed extremely untypical to me.

But this man looked different. It's like he's not from here, but he belongs here too...He was quite fair-skinned and handsome for one thing. He had an extremely proportioned facial line and larger eyes than a Korean. He held out his hand again while I was examining him.

"Park Joon Woo”

I took his hand and shook it. "My pleasure, Joon Woo" after a long look;

“ An emotional night, huh?" he asked.

“Not really, actually. I'm a little tired, I guess.” I said, "I took a sip of my drink. I didn't know what I was drinking, but I was drinking. I think it was something local.

“How can it not be so? A cheerful table has been gathered for you, and you who are watching that table from afar with full and pensive eyes!!”

“What, are you a fortune teller or something?”

“No, professional deformation, I am a good observer.”

“Observation. Hmm. Is there good money?”

“No, it's not in him, it's in the acting.”

I nodded and turned back in front of me. I've been laughing since you sat next to me. In a strange way, it made me feel both good and bad, this stranger who understood me.

“Are you Hallyu star, your highness?” I said with a mocking expression.

“Is there a problem, Princess?” when he said that, I turned around and started studying his face again.

“Can you leave me alone?” I said gently.

“Well, you can join us whenever you feel like it.” he said, reached for his glass and got up and moved towards the table that had been gathered for me.

Then I looked with great astonishment. It was time to interrogate Banu, who came to me.

"Leyla, how long have you known each other?”

“When is it? We just met. Is he a friend of yours? He went to our table.”

“Don't you recognize him?”

“Am I supposed to know God, God? I keep going back and coming up with the same question. I'm really bored.”

”My daughter is Park Joon Woo, one of the most popular actors in that country," he said in a mood you wouldn't know how.

“From there, do I look like a native of South Korea, Banu? How do I know who the guy is? Now we've met, that's Juun Wo.”

“Do not pronounce your name like that in front of him. It's the thing he hates the most. He pays a lot of attention to the pronunciation of Hangul.”

“No, that's what I said. Nothing happened. When you look at it from there, do you really see a Korean peasant? What is this, how can you not know that they will hear? I am bored.”I was about to get up and sat down when Banu grabbed me by the arm and looked at the glass in my hand.

“What are you drinking?”

“I don't know, I wanted it to be something that would make you forget all your longings, and he gave it to me.” I said, pointing at the bartender with my finger.

We went to the table with Banu and listened to the university memories of the foreigner and Can who came later. So they were school friends. Yes, it's a great achievement that I solved it. Good for me.

When Joon Woo found out on the phone that Can was here, he wanted to stop by and say hello. And the big surprise was me.

I really enjoyed the way you brought Leyla’s journey to South Korea to life! ✨ The mix of culture, emotions, unexpected situations, and Joon Woo’s mysterious introduction made the story genuinely intriguing. Your writing has such a fun and natural vibe, especially in the dialogues—I definitely want to know where their story goes next! 💗

I’m also writing a South Korea–based story called The Last Chapter 🖤🥀. If you’re interested in Korean-inspired stories, I’d love for you to check it out too! Maybe we can support each other’s writing journeys. ✨
