Summary

Emma has justEmma has just been thrown into her worst nightmare, kidnapped alongside her friend by human traffickers they were taken to Mexico to be auctioned off and used as sex slaves. As fate would have it, she was rescued by Martel, a business tycoon who also was a vampire. Martel took a natural likeness to her and took her to his hotel. He promised himself not to have any carnal knowledge of her against her will, without her knowing he was a vampire, so they set about building a relationship. He revealed to her his true nature, that he was a vampire, eventually making her feel safe in his presence. Unknown to Martel, his business partner had done business with Lancelot aka the vampire slayer, and had absconded with his money, making Martel a target for Lancelot, who eventually kidnapped him and said he would only be let go if he could provide his partner dead or alive. Agreeing to his term Martel sets out in search of his partner, taking Emma with him and leaving her at the hotel while he goes out to search for his partner. Lancelot ran afoul of the law when his men were caught trafficking drugs and bloodstains were discovered in his private jet, which was confiscated and Lancelot placed on a wanted list. This made Lancelot ever more desperate to recoup his investments, making him target Martel again, threatening to harm Emma if Martel didn't do his bidding.
