The Crimsons Moon Call

The crimson moon hung low in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the ancient city of Nocturna. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and the faint, underlying musk of beasts that prowled the shadows. Abigail Monroe walked swiftly through the cobblestone streets, her heart pounding in her chest. She had heard the whispers, the tales of the Dark King and his monstrous kingdom. Yet, here she was, stepping into the heart of the beast universe, drawn by a force she couldn't understand.

Dimitri Voss, the Dark King, was a name that struck fear into the hearts of many. But for Abby, it was a name that stirred something deep within her, a primal call that she couldn't ignore. She had seen him once, in a fleeting moment of chaos, and his eyes had burned into her soul. Since then, she had been unable to shake the feeling of his presence, as if he was always just beyond her line of sight.

As she approached the grand palace, the gates creaked open ominously. The iron bars were twisted into the shapes of writhing serpents, their eyes glowing with an inner light. Abby took a deep breath and stepped inside, her heels clicking against the cold stone floor. The palace was a labyrinth of dark corridors and towering spires, each one more intimidating than the last.

She was escorted to a grand throne room, where Dimitri sat on a throne of black obsidian. His eyes were like pools of liquid silver, and his presence filled the room, dominating every inch of space. Behind him stood Julian Cross, his right-hand man, silent and watchful. Camille Laurent, the HR director, stood to the side, her eyes sharp and assessing.

"Abigail Monroe," Dimitri's voice rumbled through the chamber, sending shivers down her spine. "You have come."

Abby lifted her chin, meeting his gaze steadily. "I have come," she replied, her voice steady despite the storm of emotions within her.

Dimitri's lips curled into a smirk. "And what brings you to my kingdom, little human?"

Abby's heart raced, but she held her ground. "I seek answers," she said. "About myself, about this world. About you."

Dimitri's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, Abby thought she saw a flicker of surprise. Then, his expression hardened. "Answers are not easily won in this realm, Abigail. They come at a price."

Abby's breath hitched, but she didn't look away. "I'm willing to pay it," she said.

Dimitri stood, his form towering over her. He circled her slowly, his fingers tracing the line of her jaw. Abby's skin tingled at his touch, her body responding to him in a way that both thrilled and terrified her. "You are brave," he murmured. "Or perhaps foolish."

Abby's voice was barely a whisper. "Perhaps both."

Dimitri chuckled, a low, dangerous sound. "Very well, Abigail. I will give you your answers. But know this once you step into my world, there is no turning back."

Abby nodded, her resolve unshaken. "I understand."

Dimitri's eyes gleamed with a mix of amusement and hunger. "Then let the games begin."
