Summary

My loud, harsh breaths reverberated in the four walls of his cabin. I didn't realize when he locked me up here and pushed me too far from the door, blocking all my ways of escape. "M-Mr. S-Scott, please, what are you doing?" Cold shivers ran down my spine as I watched the man with horror-filled eyes who was advancing towards me with slow, dangerous steps. A sickening smile marred his lips as he silently relished my helplessness while uncuffing his sleeves. My fear skyrocketed. His husky chuckles ensued, churning my stomach as his shameless gaze lingered on my chest, making me quickly bring my arms to the front. "Something that I should have done before, Cupcake." He drawled out, leaving me shocked to the bone. That endearment. Travis? Dive into the dark and dangerous world of Travis Scott, a man who dupes people with his breathtaking charms and kind personality while confining his demons only to unleash them once he captures the angel he's been looking for years.

Her Problems

Honey Samuels

“Please, doctor, how can I arrange such a huge amount in one night?”

I cried with joined hands, pleading to the arrogant Dr. Phil, who wasn’t a bit fazed by my tears. My mother is on her deathbed, and yet this heartless man is asking for an advance to start the operation.

Phil huffed and looked away, clearly expressing his displeasure with my nagging. Adjusting his glasses on his crooked nose, he turned to face me, “Listen, Madam, I can sympathize with you, but I can’t breach the policies for anyone. We can only start the treatment after the down payment is made. I am not asking you to pay the entire amount, but you have to deposit at least 10 million dollars.” He stated firmly.

My jaw dropped to the ground.

“10 million? Doctor, I told you I am not financially sound. I don’t even have 2 million in my account, how can I arrange 10 million? All I have is my house as an asset, but I can’t sell it in one night. I will put it on sale tomorrow, I promise, but please, for God’s sake-”

“Enough, Madam. Either arrange the money or shift your mother to a cheaper hospital. You shouldn’t have come here in the first place when this place was out of your budget. You’re educated, and I am sure you know that the treatment at this hospital is costly. I am giving you an hour, arrange money, or we will discharge your mother,” Spouting venom, Dr. Phil walked past me, leaving me paralyzed in shock.

“M-Mamma...”

Tears blurred my vision and slowly cascaded down my cheeks. I remained rooted in my spot for a minute as my mind turned blank. Helplessly staring at the white walls, I looked around trying to find a source of help, but the people just walked past me while giving me weird stares. They are affluent and busy. They don’t have time for someone like me who is nothing in front of them. Like they were watching me crying and sobbing, and the way Phil shouted, I am sure the entire hospital would have heard my sob story, but no one cared. Pfft, why would they? I am really stupid to even think something like this.

Wiping my tears with the back of my hand, I took a deep breath to calm myself down. Tears kept pooling, but I willed them back and settled my hair.

Exiting the hospital, I quickly headed to Brooks Corp. Only he can help me now.

I was driving rashly. These days, there is too much rush in the city. My heart nearly lurched in my mouth when I dodged an Audi. I tried to slow down, but the thought of saving Mamma had turned me crazy.

“Shit!!”

Before I could comprehend, I collided with a bike and fell.

“Argh!!! You idiot!!” The man shouted as he howled in pain. Wincing, I pushed myself up with the help of my elbows and glanced at him. His sleeves were torn, and the moment my gaze fell on his bloodied arm, I knew I was in big trouble.

“I-I am s-so sorry, Sir. I didn’t mean to”

Ignoring my pain, I quickly lunged for his help, but by doing that, I only entered a big mess as the people who were earlier acting like mere spectators suddenly jumped into action. I turned numb when they circled me, and the look they gave me was clear that they had already declared me the culprit.

“When you don’t know how to drive, then why the hell do you come out?” One of the men screamed at me. I dropped my gaze to the floor, ashamed and embarrassed to be.

“Madam, are you blind or what?”

“Stupid girl.”

They all started shouting in unison. I took off my helmet and shook my head. The tears I was trying to hide immediately started dripping down as I was being cornered.

“I already knew that this is the work of a woman. Why did her parents even bother to give her a bike? It’s all their fault.” One of them sputtered, catching my attention. My gaze instantly morphed into a glare. Lifting my head, I scoured the crowd to spot him.

Molten rage surged in my veins as I marched towards that old portly man, taking him off guard. Stopping at a good distance, I pinned him down with a fierce glare.

“Look, mister. I know it’s my fault, but I was in a hurry. My mother is on her deathbed. I know you don’t give a damn about my problem but that doesn’t give you the right to bad mouth about my parents. I respect you, but if you say one more word, then don’t blame me for what happens next with you.”

My threat was met with shocking gasps. But I was too enraged to pay attention to it. That old man broke into cold sweats. He didn’t expect my comeback.

Jerk.

Giving him one last glare, I rushed to pick up my bike and was about to ride it when a cop blocked my way.

“Not too early, Miss.”

He whispered before giving me a smirk. I paled in response.

What have I landed myself into?
