Prologue
Late last night, beloved performer Melody Blackwell was found dead in her dressing room at The Sapphire Crest shortly after finishing her evening show. Her body was discovered by her husband, Talon Blackwell, after she had failed to return home.
According to lead investigator Trey Blue, the death has been ruled a suicide. Authorities have released no further details currently.
Mr. Blackwell has declined to comment and requests privacy.
Damon Stark, owner of The Sapphire Crest and Mrs. Blackwell’s employer, offered a brief statement early this morning.
“She sung like an angel. Her voice will be missed, and these hallways will never be the same again.”
This incident is the first major tragedy at the theater since the fire thirteen years ago that destroyed the building. The timing has reignited rumors among locals that the theater could be haunted.
