The Last Pantheon

Summary

For thousands of years, humanity has worshipped gods it believed were nothing more than myths. They were wrong. Hidden beyond the reach of mortal eyes, the ancient pantheons still exist. Norse. Greek. Egyptian. Japanese. Celtic. Each has survived for centuries, sustained by the one thing they fear above all else:Faith. The gods cannot simply descend upon the mortal world and wage war themselves. Ancient laws bind them to the shadows, forbidding them from directly interfering in mortal conflict. So they play a different game.Chess. Humanity is the board. Nations are the pieces. Religion is the weapon. From hidden kingdoms scattered across Earth, the pantheons manipulate kings, governments, warriors and believers, guiding humanity into conflicts that serve their divine ambitions. Every war, every alliance and every act of devotion can shift the balance of power. But the gods have discovered something far more terrifying than an enemy pantheon. Humanity forgetting them. With every unanswered prayer, every abandoned temple and every person who turns away from the old gods, their power begins to fade. And when an entire people lose faith, their gods do not simply become forgotten. They begin to disappear. Now the pantheons are no longer fighting merely to rule Earth. They are fighting to ensure their existence.Because in this war, there can be only one pantheon left standing. And the first to lose humanity's faith will become the first to be erased from history.

Prologue

For thousands of years, the gods have waged a war unseen by mortal eyes.Kingdoms rose and fell. Every war humanity has ever written into its history was never truly their own. Behind every invasion, rebellion and battle stood the influence of the gods, using nations as pawns in their endless war for faith. Humanity believed it was fighting for land, power and survival, never knowing that every drop of blood was spilled for a war far older than mankind. And while humanity fought its own wars, another war raged above them. The gods were fighting for Earth.Every pantheon believed its gods were the true gods. Every faith was a weapon. Every worshipper, a source of power.Because belief gives the divine strength. The more humanity worshipped, the stronger the gods became. And so the gods fought.Pantheons were destroyed. Their temples, abandoned. Their names were forgotten. Their followers vanished. And when a god lost the last of its believers... Their Faith died. But death was not the end.The forgotten gods were cast into a realm beyond the mortal world. The Godgrave.A place where the dead gods remained, stripped of their worship, their kingdoms and their power.

As the centuries passed, more pantheons fell into darkness.Yet four remained.Four great faiths still stood. And they all wanted the same thing.Humanity.Not to protect it.Not to save it.But to own it.Because whoever controls humanity's faith controls its power. And whoever controls that power.. controls Earth.
