"I don't know what to say about this book. I always found myself couldn't get away from this book. The author really knows how to write and the story is written beautifully. This book doesn't begin like any other book, and that's what made me attached to this book in the first place. This kind of book is one of reasons why I want to write my own story and learn a lot of things in this world. I must say, it's a must-read book. And I don't recommend a lot."
Beautifully heartwrenching
"I have not read a book as emotional like this in the longest of time. I was crying half way through, then smiling the next... This story was so amazing, I seriously recommend it nbecaise this author is brilliant! Every moment, every word had me hooked on it. You haven't lived until you've read it. There are only a couple of point so need to make: one being that there are only a couple of spelling mistakes and the other that the plot for me, was easy to understand what was going to happen with regards to characters and who they are (without giving anything away) and therefore not as exciting as it would've been. It would have been nice to have been left in the dark about some things. But overall, truly amazing! Well done author"

Very Interesting Read
"I like the way you play with shadows in your novel. You do it in words and you do it in your storytelling. Only half telling the story but leaving us enough to want more... It is very skilful and tricky. I found your beginning and ending quite intriguing. I wonder if there is more of this to come??? I urge this writer to write! write! write! As it will only make you a better author. You already show lots of talent at a young age and a vivid imagination to go with it. Which in my opinion assures you have a bright writing future ahead. This is a good read I would recommend any who love a good story."

"The Boy That Hates Books had me reading for longer than I thought I would. The author's poetic, yet grounded, writing style elevates the already intriguing story. Kirsten's internal journey is one worth following. Existential questions of love, hope, future are explored, especially in the later chapters. All in all a great read! Very glad I stumbled on this story."

"Chapter 1 I love the description at the beginning, but it might just be a tad too much. I want the story to begin…but that’s just me being impatient. So the style of writing, I gave you 2 stars ONLY because I, personally, don't like a lot of description. That doesn't mean the descriptions are bad at all!! I just like the story to move on faster. But this isn't definite. This is just my first impression, and I'll probably be changing it as I read on. And here(,) we are left with No need to bold the boy who hates books….it’s already in quotations. “No(,)” (I replied). And(,) I’d mean it I’m still waiting for the “truth” to come out….did I miss that part? If I did it was buried under descriptions :/ Oh is he sharing his feelings? “It’s the best feeling ever(.)” (H)is smile warmed my heart Oh it says I never did find out the truth…not sure why this is in bold too. “Kristen(,)” he shouted…although there’s no need to put this all in caps…a simple exclamation point would make it more professional. He got pushed (toward) me Towards is not a real word. Neither is backwards or forwards. It’s without the S. The only time you can professionally get away with it is if someone is speaking because we talk like that sometimes. But in narration it should be toward. “Go on then(,)” one man’s voice urged Awww ours! Such a sweet ending. It makes me want to read more! I’ll wait for your review on my chapter 1 before I keep reading. Both of my stories are romance, but The Only One Who Can Hurt Me is definitely more of a romance…adult romance. The City’s Whispers is a teenage romance. So whatever you fancy! Can’t wait to read more :)"

The exposition of the first chapter is most certainly captivating and draws the reader's attention without giving away the whole story. It also has a dynamic style that feels personal and relatable. An original and gripping novel
"This is a novel with great potential which rt rises way beyond the confines of its genre. The story takes a hold of you and doesn't let go. It is told with a mixture of good imagery and description and pacey dialogue and the characters emerge clearly and sympathetically. There are moral questions posed and complex situations encountered. Altogether, a work which will only get better with further edits. One to watch out for. My congratulations to the author on her achievement."
Unique and Magical!
"The name might not have attracted my attention, but surely the Blurb did. One of the things I love about this story is that how unique the execution and plot are! Beautifully written and described. The only problem was that I was a little lost in the beginning when I started the story; hence, I had mixed feelings. But once you move forward, the story enfolds brilliantly and I would surely applaud the author for that. Overall, I am glad that I started reading the story. I generally stick to my genres but this was magically refreshing."
Slightly Confusing
"I honestly love the plot and idea of this story, and I want to applaud you for your execution. But I will say that the beginning 4ish chapters were a little hard to follow as the time jumped around a lot and characters just kind of popped up out of nowhere with little explanation. Another thing is that you can be overly descriptive. I know that a lot of time people don't describe enough, but at some points, you just went overboard and it sounded almost like a list of things instead of a nice paragraph. Just a note. I honestly did really enjoy the book so far though, and I can't wait to see what you do with it! (sorry this took so long, I had school and homework)"

"Not the sort of thing that I would normally read but it grabs your attention from the first page. The characters are three dimensional and that really drives the story forward. A heartbreaking account of two people's love as well as the eternal power of books and reading."

"When reality becomes overwhelming our minds protects us from experiencing that hurt over and over. The heroine in this story retreats into her books and finds one in the library that’s riveting to her, not yet knowing it’s tied to her destiny, however tragic. There are passages in the book that are poetic, I enjoyed those. I don’t think it is quite where it needs to be mostly because there were moments that I had to stop and figure out where characters came from or the transitions from past to present. "
