Summary

This is just going to be a collection of poems I write. Sometimes the words just won't stop filling my head so this exists. Depression isn't easy. Love isn't easy. Heartbreak isn't easy. Life isn't easy. When all else fails, the power of a pencil and paper to express your emotions is always there. That's all this is, just my brain spilling its guts in the form of mediocre poetry.

What If

What if it was possible to have a soulmate,

But their soulmate isn’t you.

They may be the perfect, most beautiful match for you,

But you’re not the one for them.

You’re not meant to be their one and only,

But they’re meant to be yours?

What if it was possible to love someone so much,

That when you close your eyes,

They’re all you can see?

You know, deep within yourself,

That you can’t possibly live if they’re not with you.

But they can live without you.

And they do.

Because they have found their soulmate.

And it’s not you.

Do you ever wonder what it’s like to be loved?

Imagine you walk into a room,

And someone’s whole face lights up when their eyes land on you.

Is that what you see me do

Every time I see you?

Now Imagine you’re me.

And you look at the person standing beside you and you think,

This is it.

This is where I am meant to be.

Imagine loving someone so much that,

No matter where you are in the world,

You’re home as long as they’re with you.

Have you ever watched someone

And realized that you could

Watch them for hours and never get bored?

Even if they’re just sleeping;

Just breathing.

Have you ever longed

To be around someone,

Just so you could listen to them talk?

Just so you can feel their presence,

Their heartbeat?

What if it was possible

To have a future without you?

Would I be able to?

What if you weren’t my rock,

What if you weren’t my lifeboat in this sea of desolation?

What if you weren’t my life,

My soul?

What if I could live without you,

Breathe without you?

What if?

But what ifs aren’t the truth.

The truth is that I have lived my whole life

Waiting for my other half,

And now that I have found you,

I am never letting go.

I will watch you love others

And be happy with others

For the rest of my life

Because that is all I can do.

I will die alone,

Watching you grow old with someone else.

But I am never letting go.
