What is your opinion?

Seven is more like a Nine

"Out of 100 this book rated 88 with me; I come down hard on grammar/punctuation and except for occasional double-spacing between paragraphs found little pulling me out of the story. Well done! The slow ramp-up to excitement is perfectly acceptable, but the character *must* grab me out of the gate if there's no strong plot pulling at me; I wasn't a big fan of the MC at first which might be fully intentional but didn't help draw me in. But the 'I'm not interested in Juniper' beats were good, and by chapter three things were really heating up. So, one challenge to the author - is there a way to get to that heat more quickly? Please keep writing!"

Captivating take of an Apocalypse

"I had to judge this book for the Masters & Legends Award and it ended up being the highest score on my reading list. This is a very unique, interesting, dark but also funny take as to what the end of the world could be. The characters and their relationships are amazingly well-written, the dialogues go from dark to tense to funny and sarcastic and the plot is captivating to the last page of the book. I do not want to spill the beans here, so I'm just gonna say the plot is awesome, I feel like each chapter makes you want to read more and this book also won the "Best Starting Hook" Special Category for its very specific medical diagnosis after 10 lines: "You have Humans." This book surely sucks you in until its last word. Only down would be a few typos and grammar issues here and there, but nothing that cannot be corrected. Overall, a BRILLIANT job from the author and a very different approach to the end of the world. I seriously recommend reading Seven! Great work from Zanlexus."

MUST READ

"I dont even have the words to express how great this book is. I love the symbolism in naming the MC Gaia. Very creative! The story reads fast due to the suspense sprinkled throughout and I have to admit it brought forth a racing heart and an anxiousness in the pit of my stomach but even that didn't make me stop reading. This story is a new, refreshing twist on the apocalyptic tale and ended exactly how it should. I really can't wait to read more from this author."

It's the End of the World as We Know it... But This is Fantastic!

"If you love that edge of your seat feeling, high stakes with heart racing, running from "end of the world" disasters, a bit of comedy, and deep thinking about what got you there, this is the read for you! Clever characters, strong descriptions, and chapters that keep you reading until the very end. Fantastic job and well done!"

Wow

"I have no idea how to review this, and that’s a good thing. The characters really grew on me as I read through the story, especially Gaia. Also her relationship with juniper was amazing and hilarious, and provided a lot of levity, which helped balance out the darker moments. Also another note on their relationship: I love how it developed, and even though they argued a lot you could tell they cared for one another, and that’s a hard line to walk, so great job with that. :) I looooooved the dream sequences. That was such a cool idea and I love how it played out, really gave the whole story a supernatural/fantasy feel, which isn’t seen too often in apocalypse stories, but it totally works in this! :) Overall I loved this. Such a cool story full of dynamic characters, and the last few chapters had me in an emotional roller coaster! Fantastic job! :) "

The Best 90-minute Disaster Movie I Have Ever Read

"This story is -fantastic-. I have a LOT of good to say about it, so I'll try and get this review at least somewhat organized as I go. I'm going to start with the only real critique I have, which is that this could still use a bit of editing. I spotted a few typos, several unnecessary commas, and a few places where the writing could have been done a little tighter. You know, the usual stuff one runs into when not literally paying a professional editor to help comb through a story. Otherwise, it's very clear the author has put time into editing their work and polishing this story. The narrative is beautiful and visually flows very well! I've -watched- many Disaster Movies but read very few books of the same genre, so I've never seen such grand, sweeping, visually impressive shots of sheer -destruction- be written so compellingly and clearly. The pacing was nice and fast, with something new and interesting happening around every corner. It never felt too rushed and no moment felt unnecessarily or like padded filler. The author did an incredible job making every word count. The characters are fun. I wouldn't say we delve deeply into any of them, and I would not consider this a character-driven story. What I DO say is that the author touched just far enough into some common character tropes that, with just a few words, I was able to infer everything I needed to know about characters, their personalities, their drives, and their motivations, while at the same time they were not pushed -too deep- into tropes to make them dislikable or too unbelievable. The main character may have been someone I'd never want to hang out with in real life, but I didn't have a problem with following her around and relating through her experiences, either. I never felt 'trapped' with any one of them. The dialogue was funny, mostly flowed naturally, and I constantly wanted to share quips of it with my roommate. It felt perfect for this genre of story and really added to every scene. Absolutely check this story out, it is *so good!* And a true Must Read for any fan of the Natural Disasters genre! This was an easy read to binge and if you've got a few hours to spare, absolutely spend them here! (Bonus points if you read it on a cold, stormy, windy winter day)"

Seven a tale of destruction

"Nov. 25/2020 - A very unique tale and perspective of the destruction of earth. The writers ideas on cause amd reaction were thought out nicely. Evem though the story works as is, I thought most situations could've been extended and detailed to give it more colour. Very nicely done "

Seven - Is the end of the world coming?

"The first chapter introduced me a painful truth, a truth contemporary with our times. It was well pointed out that humans are a cause of destruction, which I agree. The fact that was a dream took me by surprise. I love the novel, is well written, the two main characters are original and fresh, and the story flows in the right direction. I love the writer's style and can wait to read more of her work 😍"

My Thoughts

"Though it's only one chapter in so far (or at least at the time I read it), you get a sense of the character and the world their in. I really, REALLY like the dream sequence, how the earth is talking to some kind of doctor, as if it's caught the human disease. It's comedic, and somewhat unsettling at the same time. That's all I really have, seeing how short this prologue is (it is a prologue, right?). I can't wait to see how this story develops in the future!"

Very good

"Good description, grips the reader and doesn’t give too much away. The way you open it is very distinct and despite there not being a lot of deal still makes to reader fascinated. I would get rid of ‘quiet’ in the line ‘A short pause, like a quiet desert at sun rise.’ because the pause establishes there is silence, and deserts most of the time are silent. ‘A short pause, like a desert at sun rise.’ would fit just that bit better. Your paragraphs are small too, try grouping them together more. You don't need the *** part way through the chapter a few times. Starting a new paragraph can progress things on fine. I like how each story part’s numbers are like that of a digital clock. You used the word swerved in chapter 01:50: vision 2 times at the start, and to me this was repetitive since it is a strong word. Also the 2 lines ‘I rubbed my arms and swerved around the crowd toward the parking lot’ and ‘Glanced up at the sky as I did’ could be combined into 1 line to make it flow better. ‘I rubbed my arms and swerved around the crowd toward the parking lot, glancing up at the sky as I did.’ Toward would be better as towards. T-shirt in the paragraph starting with - “Shit,” I muttered, - needs to have a lowercase t. The relationship between Gaia and Sage is set up well, and so is the chemistry between Gaia and Juniper too. That chemistry is an interesting contrast to what else is going on in the story. I think you could go into that a little more, immerse the reader in it then go back to the mysterious stuff. There are times that I think getting rid of the word ‘and’ because I feel it is getting used too much to connect sentences into longer ones. In the 4th part about half way in there are a few sentences that are like this. ‘He sat in quiet compilation as I talked and the eerily quiet roads whipped by.’ is one of the lines I mean. ‘He sat in quiet compilation as I talked over the eerily silent roads whipping by.’ - changing quiet here too makes it less repetitive. The pacing of this story is very good too, really moves well. The line ‘I flew down the become that deer,’ doesn't make sense but can be easily fixed by changing ‘the’ to ‘to’. This is still an excellent story well done! "

Seven

"Usually, having a dream sequence or waking up from a dream at the beginning of a novel is cliche but it definitely works and is interesting in your case. I find the main character Gaia and the fact that she has a mother with an apocalypse bunker interesting, but I feel like the mother if she truly knew something was wrong or even just felt something was wrong would try a little harder to convince her daughter to come home, and not just allow her to brush it off so easily. You have good descriptions of the world and a unique concept and interesting characters that all draw you into the story. I would suggest giving a more detailed synopsis to draw more readers in, tell us a little bit about the story and the characters, and I spotted a few misspellings in chapters two and three. Keep up the good writing."
