Good book & Editing
" I liked the book because of not just the plot, the editing skills too. Although at the beginning when I began reading the book, I didn't like it so much and I like to think that it wasn't the kind of book I read often but once I decided to pay interest- it discovered it was very much interesting. There was always something new to look forward to in the story and that was amazing.i liked the humour also. I just think the spacing can be reduced I could recommend the book to Fantasy or Humour readers(I don't know if it's called thriller or so-so). I just think it's an amazing book"
Crimson Dimension
"I love this! The MC's voice is captured wonderfully, Kelly is a curious, skeptical, annoyed with authority teen and it's just right. The writing is solid and the pace is great. Will definitely be reading more from the author! Also, I love the way they enter the Crimson Dimension, you'd only trust a best friend enough to go into the stall with them lol. "
Amazing
"While I personally struggled a little to get into the writing style, as it comes off as juvenile (but not in a bad way, obviously it's just due to the characters ages!!), the story itself is so good!! I will definitely continue to read this book! Overall, I think this book is super cute and it's refreshing to see something written about younger ages, as it's something you don't see too often."
A good middle school read
"The MC and the other characters do have the personalities and dialogue I would expect from a YA book, so I think that's on point. The various ways the kids are able to get to this different dimension and how their bodies changes in each one is an interesting take. There were some grammatical things I noticed, mainly with some extra commas and dialogue. There were a couple of misspellings as well, but a solid proofreading will improve this book tremendously. All in all, it is an interesting book, and I like some of the plot twists we get around characters we weren't quite expecting to have significant roles. "
Author here!
"So, thank you to anybody's previous feedback!!!!! It means a LOT. I really appreciate it. I think all of you guys are awesome, and if you have a suggestion for me, of a book to read, (Especially romance) please alert me! LOVE TO ALL MY READERS! I'm not sure you understand how thankful I am!"
Great Story
"This story is an interesting one, the characters are fun, and the story plot is great. Although it is too fast when you are reading it, it is still great!"
Crimson Dimension
"Wow! It was fantastic and indeed beautifully written. The description of the scenes and characters was fabulous. Moreover, the dialogues which were used, perfectly described the mindset of a grade schooler. Loved the humour. "
Comment
"This story was amazing. There are many plot twists you don't see coming. I was always on the edge of my seat wanting more. I also liked that it didn't ay who Kelly liked, instead it gives slight hints. At points in the story I got lost, but at the same time I liked, I guess? Overall it was a good story. Good job AB."
It is intriguing.
"The story is very entertaining; the world of superpowers is amazing. Although the writing style is not my favorite. It is a bit distracting for me to read because the dialogue is in the present tense but the writing is in the past tense. It's contradictory."
Love it so far!
"Loving this story so far. From chapter one I was hooked and couldn’t put this book down. I recommend giving this book a read you won’t be disappointed. "
Going Good
"The story is going well so far, and I'm sure there will be more characters with additional elemental abilities. I think you have an awesome story to tell. I'm looking forward to it. You'll need to work on character emotions a little, but it'll get better overtime. Have fun writing."
Good plot!
"Edited to add: this says I read 1 chapter, but actually I read up to chapter 6 lol > The plot and storyline of this story is great! My constructive criticism is that the grammar/punctuation is sometimes off, and I found one or two sentences to cut off with no ending (probably a copy/paste typo cut off or something) and some places there were things like *eye roll* when it should be described instead. However, overall, I love the idea here, and the characters seemed age appropriate. I think with a bit of editing, this would be really great! <3 "
Great Start!
"I like the plot and worldbuilding, as an older reader (and by old I mean 22 but you know what I mean haha) I'm not sure if I'm the specific audience of this story, but when putting myself in the mindest of someone who probably would be your audience it's very fitting. I think some of the grammar and technical aspects could be improved, but that is something that takes time and a lot of proofreading/editing - the style can also use some development. You tend to reiterate or repeat things a lot. Within the first paragraph you use three sentences to convey the idea that the teacher is serious about talking, when really only one sentence about that would suffice. Don't want to beat a dead horse, as they say. Overall, though, it's a good start! Kudos and good luck!"
Quirky and fun!
"I like the playfulness with which characters are described. From their thoughts to their dialogues, their actions and their friendships. Right from the beginning, we are thrown into the action with Kelly suspecting her friend. I love the idea that Kelly is a "side character" in this, kind of watching from the sidelines like we are. I would suggest you be wary of objectively calling her "boring" or "normal," though. I would leave that up to the reader to decide."
A Great Start
"What I liked -The potential the world building has. Normally with young adult oriented stories, there's usually a bare minimum thought added beyond the slice of life elements and that tends to make them difficult to make an impression. But The Crimson Dimension might have interesting stories to tell if it's going to explore how being older and being heroes at that is going to affect the growth of teenagers. Are there experiences they are going to have a lot sooner? Will their relationship to other kids their age change now that they feel grown up? It could lead to a very interesting Shazam kind of dilemma. -Definitely Passes the 3 chapter test. I often try to have a least 3 chapters of someone's story so I can be as fair as possible but this is surprisingly easy to get beyond that. -Overall Good Pacing. The author is very clearly talented and somewhat experienced with the genre they are writing. This is nothing more than acknowledgement of what they already know to be true. What I Could Explore Obviously, stories with this frame are going to have a lot of competition so standing out is going to be very important. Given the story you want to tell, I'll state areas where the story can find different footing.. -Explore Inner Conflict. These kids are going through constant state of growing and being young heroes at that and that realistically does mean they will be 17-18 year old souls in 12-13 year old frames. Will that shape reality for them? Will there be moments where they constantly forget they still have to grow? I can imagine a book series where they constantly grow more awkward and keep trying to chase their older versions that's cooler and better looking. -Explore the Crimson Dimension. If there are heroes who are ultimately kids struggling with high school, maybe there's also supervillains who are ultimately kids in high school. It's only a few chapters in so maybe you're already doing these things but if there was interest in ideas, I'm placing several. I imagine themes of bullying, getting over a crush, failing exams and how that might just create someone who feels like being older with superpowers means they can finally destroy the world that makes them sad. -Give Kelly an active goal. I'll be honest, Kelly does sound somewhat familiar with her sarcasm and overall gloominess and a lot of 12 year old kids are like that but stories go beyond the relatable for a reason. Maybe there's a musical soon and she wants to impress her mom. Maybe a main villain is in the real world a snobbish nerd who never listens to anyone who isn't smart so Kelly vows to pass the exams and save the world without having to fight her/him. Superheroes are cool when they constantly have their hero lives fight against their goals. Overall, I love the story and the potential it has to be great."
Great YA novel
"This is a work in progress but so far it's already shaping up to be a great story, my daughter is 20 and she was impressed by how fast paced and intuitive it felt to her. The characters are well defined and the descriptions of the background are imaginative and bring the story to life I'm looking forward to the next instalments"
Effective
"It seems like you're writing for Young Juveniles or Preteens. With that in mind, it flows well. There are a few places for the reader to focus on, without a bunch of detail that could bog it down, which is good for that age group. The story does seem a little fast paced, but it's still early, and could be placed that way as a reference for later story purpose. There are a few grammatical errors (not adding commas in a few spots), but overall good. I think using an exclamation point when Sienna tries Mr. Bruton's flair would be a great way to show it to the reader, instead of describing it. It's simple and effective, hits the points, and gives enough background to not make it boring. I'm curious, from your writing style, if Mr. Bruton was so important to the chapter for a reason, or if it was just a way to introduce the protagonist. Guess we'll see!"
Look, AB, I truly and honestly love you, but. . .
"For some people, it may be admirable how you jumped write into the action. For me, I like mystery because it intrigues me and I like to try to figure it all out. Maybe add more chapters without the whole superhero identity thing revealed, add less clues, and create more confusion? In the first few chapters- BAM!- secret uncovered. I wish that it fit the superhero vibe, which is more. . . secretive, for lack of a better word. Also, I'm constantly confused by who is who. When the guy was upset about his brother, I remember being surprised that it was him who lost his sibling. It's the codenames and similar names that perplex me. I can't tell who got which name in the Crimson dimension. And then Mr. Burton. . . Burson. . . whatever (sorry about that), was suddenly like, "I know all of your secrets mwahahaha" and that just came from the left field in my opinion. I only read to chapter 8, I believe, so there may be more to it that I haven't seen yet. Maybe not add that, because I don't understand the point of it. I love, love, love the idea for the book, don't get me wrong. I think its super cool and fun. But I just think the execution is lacking in interest and good elements of a story. I apologize if this hits hard, I just want to offer my honest opinion. You're still an amazing writer, and I still love your work. Just not this one in particular. "
Very interesting!!!
"I love the writing style!! The story seems very interesting but I can't seem to form an idea about where it's going. I think I need to read more chapters form a complete opinion about the plot. So far it's interesting. Not too much actions to make your head hurt but enough action to keep on reading it. GOOD LUCK!!"
