Prologue

“Love comes to us even in the times we feel cursed.”

“Dedicated to my Husband and Daughter.”

Prologue:

“Married? MA-RR-II-EEE-DDD?” I say with blood shot eyes, I had just arrived not but thirty seconds ago and my mother was already telling me that I was to marry the richest man in Fort Lauderdale, my face was turning red as I turned to walk to the front desk at the airport to request a one way ticket back to Manhattan, “Yes darling…we owe a lot to their family and your money hungry step sister let the arranged marriage fall through when she was the one that needed the funds for god knows what!” I stop dead in my tracks to look my father in the eye, “And you think that marrying me will help you? Have you ever seen me as your actual daughter? No! you saw her as your princess, and I was just the unwanted child that no one wanted around! That’s why I left and that is why I am going back home!” I say as tears brimmed my eyes I could see my fathers emotionless face stare into my soul, “I would have forced her to marry him had she not got pregnant and married to his cousin. She has brought shame to our family and our legacy…you’re the only person I know who can fix that for me and your idiotic mother who allowed her to see that man to begin with.” My eyes widen as I look at my mother, her eyes shoot down to the floor as her face turns a light shade of pink and tears brim her eyes as her head hung loosely off her shoulders, “I am sorry my daughter, I have done so much to you and now I understand why I am not wanted as your mother, I have made one too many mistakes and you shouldn’t have to marry a man that you don’t want to.”
