A Deal with the Devil

Sienna

I never imagined my life would change in a single night. But as I knelt beside my battered brother, trembling beneath the gaze of a monster, I knew nothing would ever be the same.

Adrian De Luca. His name alone carried fear. Ruthless, powerful, and dangerously lethal—he was a man no one dared to cross. And yet, my brother did.

Victor lay before me, bloodied and barely conscious, his face swollen beyond recognition. The lavish living room, once filled with grandeur, was now a battlefield of shattered glass, broken furniture, and destruction. Adrian stood over him, his tailored black suit unscathed, his steel-grey eyes void of mercy as he pointed the gun at my brother’s head.

“You should have thought twice before stealing from me,” Adrian’s voice was deep, controlled—like the calm before a hurricane.

Tears burned my eyes. “Please…” My voice was a broken whisper as I crawled to my brother’s side. “Please don’t kill him.”

Adrian’s gaze flickered to me, assessing, calculating. A slow smirk curled on his lips, sending shivers down my spine. “And why should I spare him, little dove?”

I swallowed hard, my heart slamming against my ribs. “He’s all I have left.”

A silence stretched between us. Then, Adrian crouched before me, the gun still aimed at Victor. “Your brother is a liar and a thief, Sienna.” My name rolled off his tongue like silk laced with poison. “He stole my money. He lost it. And now he has nothing to repay me with.”

“I—I’ll find a way,” I stammered, my fingers clutching Victor’s limp arm.

Adrian chuckled darkly. “Oh, sweetheart, there is no way.” He tilted his head, his piercing gaze stripping away my defenses. “Unless…”

I met his eyes, my breath shallow. “Unless what?”

His smirk widened. “Unless you take his place.”

A sharp inhale burned my throat. “What do you mean?”

“I mean,” Adrian leaned closer, his breath warm against my cheek, “you belong to me now. You will come with me, do as I say, and serve me until your brother repays his debt.”

I gasped, horror creeping into my veins. “That’s… that’s slavery.”

He chuckled. “Call it whatever you want, little dove. But those are your only choices.”

I turned to Victor, his face contorted in pain, his breaths shallow. He had always protected me. But now, he was helpless, and I was his only hope.

Tears slipped down my cheeks as I whispered, “I’ll do it.”

Adrian’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction. “Good girl.”

And just like that, I sold my soul to the devil.

The night air was crisp against my skin as I sat in the back of Adrian De Luca’s black SUV, my hands trembling in my lap. The mansion that had once been my home was now a distant blur, swallowed by the darkness. I had left everything behind—my safety, my freedom—all for a deal with the devil.

Adrian sat beside me, his presence consuming the space between us. He didn’t speak, didn’t even look at me, yet his aura was suffocating. He was the kind of man who owned the world, and I was just another piece of property he had claimed.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and dared to steal a glance at him. He was perfection carved from stone—his chiseled jawline, the sharp curve of his nose, the way his lips pressed into a firm line. But it was his eyes that unnerved me the most—cold, calculating, and dangerous.

“Where are you taking me?” I finally found my voice, though it was barely above a whisper.

Adrian’s fingers drummed against his thigh, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. “To my estate.”

I clenched my fists. “And what happens to me there?”

He smirked. “You belong to me now, Sienna. You’ll do as I say, when I say it. No questions. No resistance.”

My stomach twisted. “You can’t just—”

“I can,” he interrupted smoothly, finally turning to face me. “You signed away your freedom the moment you agreed to my terms.”

I bit my lip, hating how helpless I felt. “For how long?”

His eyes darkened. “Until your brother repays me.”

I knew the truth—Victor had no money, no assets, no way of ever repaying his debt. Which meant…

I might never be free.

The thought sent a shiver down my spine.

The car pulled up to massive iron gates that opened as if welcoming me into my own personal hell. Beyond them, a grand estate loomed in the distance—a mansion even larger than my own, its architecture screaming of power and wealth.

As the car rolled to a stop, Adrian stepped out first, then held the door open for me. “Out.”

I hesitated for only a moment before obeying. My legs felt weak as I stepped onto the cobblestone driveway, my heart pounding in my chest.

Adrian grabbed my wrist, pulling me closer. “Remember, little dove, you belong to me now. Try to escape, and you won’t like the consequences.”

Tears burned behind my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.

This was just the beginning.

I had walked into the lion’s den.

And there was no way out.

The grand mansion swallowed me whole.

High ceilings stretched above me, adorned with golden chandeliers that cast eerie shadows along the marble floors. The air smelled of leather, expensive cigars, and something darker—something distinctly Adrian. The moment I stepped inside, I felt it. The weight of power, of control.

This was his world.

And I was just another prisoner within it.

My arms wrapped around myself as I followed Adrian through the dimly lit hallway. He walked ahead of me with slow, calculated strides, his presence consuming every inch of space. The sound of his shoes clicking against the floor was the only noise between us, the silence suffocating.

I clenched my fists. Don’t show fear. He feeds on fear.

He stopped at a door near the end of the hallway and pushed it open, revealing a lavish bedroom. Dark velvet drapes covered the windows, the massive four-poster bed looming like a throne. The decor was elegant but cold, much like the man standing beside me.

“This is where you’ll stay,” Adrian said, his voice smooth and commanding.

I stepped inside hesitantly. The room was beautiful, but it felt more like a gilded cage than a sanctuary. “And if I refuse?” I whispered, testing my limits.

Adrian’s smirk was slow, dangerous. “Then I’ll chain you to the bed and make sure you don’t leave.”

A shiver ran down my spine, though not entirely from fear. His voice carried an unspoken promise, one that made my skin tingle in ways I didn’t want to acknowledge.

I lifted my chin, refusing to cower. “You said I belong to you now. What exactly does that mean?”

Adrian stepped closer, invading my space. His fingers trailed along my jaw, his touch featherlight but possessive. “It means you’ll obey me. In every way.”

My breath hitched. “You expect me to—”

He chuckled darkly. “Not yet, little dove. But make no mistake—you are mine.” His fingers slid down my throat before he pulled away, his gaze flickering with amusement at my reaction.

I swallowed hard, my heart hammering. “You’re a monster.”

He smirked. “And yet, you walked willingly into my arms.”

I hated him.

I hated the way his voice sent shivers down my spine. I hated the way his presence was intoxicating. And most of all, I hated the way some part of me—some foolish, traitorous part—was drawn to him.

Adrian turned to leave. “Get some rest. You’ll need it.”

“For what?” I blurted out.

He paused at the doorway, his gaze locking onto mine. “For tomorrow. Your new life begins then.”

And with that, he was gone, leaving me alone in the darkness of my cage.

I sank onto the bed, my fists clutching the silk sheets.

Tomorrow.

I wasn’t ready.

Morning came too soon.

I barely slept, my mind restless with thoughts of what Adrian meant when he said my “new life” would begin today. The weight of his words pressed on me like shackles I couldn’t shake.

When the bedroom door swung open, I jumped, my breath catching in my throat.

Adrian stood in the doorway, dressed in a crisp black button-down, his sleeves rolled up to reveal strong forearms inked with swirling tattoos. His presence dominated the room, his steel-grey eyes locking onto mine.

“Get up,” he ordered.

I hesitated. “Why?”

He raised a brow, stepping inside with slow, deliberate movements. “Because I said so.”

I glared at him but swung my legs over the bed, standing tall even as my stomach twisted with unease. “What do you want from me?”

Adrian smirked. “I want to see how much fight you have in you, little dove.”

Before I could respond, he grabbed my wrist, dragging me out of the room. His touch was firm, possessive—sending a shiver down my spine. I tried to pull away, but his grip only tightened.

“Where are we going?” I demanded, struggling against him.

He didn’t answer.

Instead, he led me down a long corridor, then outside to a secluded courtyard. The morning sun painted the sky in soft hues, but the beauty of the scenery was overshadowed by the unease settling deep in my gut.

Adrian stopped in the middle of the stone courtyard and turned to face me. “I want to make something clear, Sienna.”

I crossed my arms. “Oh? And what’s that?”

He stepped closer, his gaze dark and unreadable. “You may hate me. You may fight me. But you will obey me.”

I scoffed. “I don’t belong to you.”

In a flash, Adrian’s hand shot out, gripping my chin between his fingers, forcing me to meet his gaze. His touch wasn’t painful, but it was possessive.

“You do now,” he murmured, his voice dangerously soft. “And the sooner you accept that, the easier this will be.”

My breath hitched, heat curling in my stomach—anger, fear, something else I didn’t want to name. “And if I don’t?”

A slow smirk spread across his lips. “Then I’ll break you.”

A chill ran through me.

I refused to cower, lifting my chin defiantly. “I’m not afraid of you.”

Adrian’s eyes darkened with something I couldn’t quite place—amusement, challenge… hunger.

“Good,” he murmured. “That makes this more fun.”

Then, without warning, he pulled a knife from his pocket.

My heart slammed against my ribs as I stumbled back. “What the hell are you doing?”

Adrian twirled the blade between his fingers, his smirk deepening. “Relax, little dove. It’s not for you.”

He tossed the knife onto a wooden table behind him. That’s when I noticed it—several weapons laid out in a neat row. Knives, a gun, even a coiled whip.

“What is this?” I whispered.

Adrian crossed his arms. “A lesson.”

My brows furrowed. “A lesson in what?”

He stepped closer, his voice dropping to a near whisper. “Survival.”

I swallowed hard.

“You think you can fight me, Sienna?” Adrian continued, tilting his head. “You think you can resist me?” He gestured to the weapons. “Then pick one.”

I hesitated. “You’re insane.”

He chuckled. “Perhaps.”

I glanced at the table. Every fiber of my being screamed at me to run, but I knew better. There was no escaping Adrian De Luca.

So I did the only thing I could.

I picked up the knife.

And Adrian smiled.

Like I had just walked straight into his trap.
