The Other In Us

"Sarah A is creating a nail biting, page turner for sure! Her characters are intense but believable, and the action is non-stop. With the historical back drop of the Holocaust and WWII, a reader can see how this story could really be true. I, for one, cannot wait to see how this ends!"

Fascinating story

"This is a fascinating story set in Czechoslovakia in 1942 during the Nazi occupation. These beginning chapters set a strong plot building great suspense and tension. Using three different POVs we see the events unfold from different perspectives. This story has stimulated my interest and curiosity and I look forward to reading more and finding out where the author will take this. The star ratings are based on the first 8 chapters. A good beginning. "

Cool

"Love that you injected a cultural feel and inject local language to a romance. That was cool. You obviously have a link to either the Czech Republic or Slovakia or Germany. Super research! Great story, keep going and keep writing and keep your dialogue punchy and alive. I would love it if you could give my story The Trillium Awakening a read and comment. Thank you for your story!https://www.inkitt.com/hfckeddie"

The Other in Us

"This is a high tempo history of the Czech resistance. The author uses multiple POVs that can be confusing, but so far her technique is working. I want to find out what's goin on here. Who is this German? What are his motives? Driven by lust or undercover in the resistance too? Who informed on her? Excellent suspense and I really do want to know what is going on here, and that is what counts in this contest. A potential winner IMO. Historical fiction too. I don't know much about the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia., and that is a bonus for reading this book."

A beautiful story

"it is such a lovely story. To be honest, the start of the story was a little bit boring but further in to the story it got more interesting. I like how you built up your story and I also like the plot of your story."

Lovely story

"I love the archaic flavor of the setting and the drops of culture such as language . I do admit, I was alittle bored in the beginning, but the story progression was quite nice and it grew on me. "

The Other In Us

"Title: The Other In Us The title describes the book and is one of the many which attracts the reader. When I first saw the title, I initially thought of self-discovery and as it happens, it was confirmed in the blurb about the characters. Blurb Quite an interesting blurb. Chapters It starts beautifully, providing the reader with vivid descriptions of the city and its lot. The transition of information was seamless in the prologue, introducing the story and characters. Paragraph length and punctuation is good, spelling and grammar as well. Vocabulary used is lovely. The only change I would recommend is having the character’s speech on a new line rather than in the same paragraph with the other information. Even character thoughts can be placed in a separate line. It distinguishes the thoughts, speech and other information, provided by the writer, to the reader. Also, use the word form of numbers than the actual number. The story is unique and was a good read. Minor changes to be made but it’s a good book thus far. Overall, I enjoyed reading about the characters and their view on the situation. An amazing description which helped conceptualize what was taking place. It was a pleasure reviewing this book!"

Amazingly well written

"I have fallen in love with this story. The characters are incredibly engaging and real. You have gotten in each one's head and drawn them out so well! I cannot wait to see where this goes. I should have given 4 stars for grammar and punctuation, as there are some issues, especially early on in the story...but I loved it too much to focus on that. It will be great if you could fix those though."

Incredible!

"This is an intense, and an utterly engrossing fast-paced stroll through human history and culture. This wonderful story allows the reader to engage more with this particular time period, through the eyes of some truly interesting characters. Your chapter structure could not have been chosen better for writing this kind of story. I believe that the story's first person narrative, from multiple perspectives, was a sound idea, and it kept me wanting more. This story was an emotional rollercoaster, where plot twists and ever developing characters were in abundance. Chapter Four has me yearning to discover what has become of these loveable characters, especially Ester, and Klara. With the use of such an effective plot twist at the very end of this chapter, I am eager to read on. There were a few punctuation flaws and missing words, as previously mentioned. yet that can be expected within any piece of writing. Do let me know when you have wrote some more, I look forward to reading it. Great work! Craig. B."

Winsome

"I love the smooth style of this book, and how easy it is to see the different personalities of the characters in your writing. You do a lovely job of bringing them to light. There are several small words missing and flaws in punctuation, but besides that, this is a wonderful start. This could be a really exciting story!"

Not my usual fave but very surprised!

"Not my usual kind of story to read as I'm into more modern styles but the had me pleasantly surprised. Only has 2 chapters and prologue so far but I actually like it. Usually takes me about 5 chapters before I can say that so I'm excited to see where this book goes! "

One to Follow

"This novel is in its early stages but it shows a lot of potential. It is a fascinating concept and seems well researched. The historical setting is convincing and the characters already showing depth and complexity. It is written in a fluent and easy style and there is an abundance of tension and jeopardy in the plot - sufficient to keep the reader engaged and wanting more.. I anticipate returning to this book as it progresses and I will re-consider these tentative gradings when there is more to base them on. But the signs are good and I would encourage other readers to sample it and follow its progress."
