What is your opinion?

What did I just read??

"This short starts off a bit off kilter but ends up downright freaky. Like--disturbing freaky. Talk about a writing mission accomplished! And really, the only reason I kept a star off of writing style was because most of it was so consistently vivid that the small hiccups in voice were all that more obvious. Would benefit from a good out loud read. A few grammatical whoopsies but nothing that really detracts from the story. All in all, 100% gripping!"

New Age Poe Material

"Reminiscent of grief-stricken works of classic horror, the author has captured in a mere chapter a transition from desperate grief to a resolved goal. I was fascinated with how one-sided the conversation was, presenting the question of whether someone is really talking back or not. The subtle echoes of madness are the root of the classic horror I love. Thank you for giving me a taste of what I used to love about this genre again! With some proofreading for a few grammatical hiccups, this would be an easy All-Star 5 for me! I would love to see a continuation of this character - if you ever get the inspiration that is. Well done!"

Wow!

"That was amazing! I think that if you had made this more than a short story, it wouldn't have worked so well. It was fantastic! you managed to cram so much emotion and feeling into such a short story. There weren't are grammar problems that I could see. Keep up the amazing work! Sofia"

A chilling read

"This was a spine-chilling read - very eerie; there was something almost manic about it; like we were watching a man descend into indescribable grief right in front of us - it was harrowing. The author captured the desperation and denial of the character skillfully - using the second person ('you', 'our') was a really clever way to draw the reader into the story and make it even more gripping. It read like a train of thought; like we were inside the man's head, feeling and thinking everything he was. Ending it off on the short repetitive lines only further added to the 'descent into insanity' feeling, but it also gave a finality to the piece; like he'd decided to join them in the only way he knew how ... Excellent job! :)"

Loved it!

"I love this, it is definitely my type of story. So dark and freaky, I love how he talks to himself and you find out more and more as you go on that he truly is insane. I hope there will be more of this because this was fantastic. Great writing style and plot!"

Great story

"think the onshore story was done very well. Do you plan to make this into something more? I think it would be amazing if you did to give insight of what happen to his family, life with his family. I could go with emotion like he was insane talking to ghost of his past. You really hit the emotion part very well. Dialogue was done well. Definitely gave me the chills and was creepy in a good way. Good job "

Wow!

"This beginning gave me chills! So suspenseful and mysterious, I have so many questions. This is such a compelling first chapter, it makes me wonder who everyone is, how they came to be in their position, especially the MC. Overall great work at building an interesting beginning! :) "

starts off creepy and ends WAY creepy

"Happily Ever After? gave me chills. I love stories with unreliable narrators (kind of an understatement with this guy) where you're left wondering what's real and what isn't. That's exactly what this story does. Incredibly well done. I'll definitely be checking out this author's additional works. I love their writing style."

Freaking Read This!

"Exactly as my title said. Read the damn book! You'll not regret it. Here, take my virtual 50 dollars if you think I'm lying. So far, I've never given a full star rating for the stories in Inkitt, but this one deserves it. It's a great one-shot horror which will take you inside the mind of a mad man. I love the writing since it's simple and not overly complicated, but it'll still able to grab your attention and make you engage with the reading. Grammar is also fine, I can't spot any errors and if there's one, it might be freaking little. So yeah, give this book a chance, I mean, have you seen the summary? It's interesting ok. You will like this story as I do :)"
