"I admit I found the story slow at the beginning. Then, the story finally takes off with the arrival of the letter and becomes captivating, enough to keep the reader curious. Good thing about polishing grammar is the reader can concentrate on reading the story. This is a plus for this book. It is clear. Elizabeth has to give up everything to save her family from poverty. Her grandfather tries to reassure her, if she doesn't like what she finds ( the Prince, that is) she can always come back. This is the most reassuring statement. It's comforting. He wants her to be happy. The writer takes us to the delicate politics of the king's court. It is here that the writer's skills are needed most. Fortunately, the writer does this well with a spice of magic and witchcraft. I believe this adds flavor to the coming of age of the young prince. The kingdom is his if he succeeds in walking through the minefield. The message is clear. I believe this story has in it to become a great book."

"I am just beginning chapter four but I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying this story so far. You have a really excellent writing style that really helps me to get a good sense of the world and what is happening. I like the characters so far and I am interested to see where the story will go. The spelling and grammar I also good which makes it more pleasant to read. *Edit* I have now finished the book and I just wanted to say again how excellent it is! It has a very professional feel to it and the way you have created a fully formed world is brilliant. I hope to see what the future holds for these characters."

Like Pride and Prejudice with Magic

"This book is a classic, in the mold of Pride and Prejudice. But it is also an adventure story, sort of like Game of Thrones---you know, sword fighting and stuff. Everyone who had read it, I see, have given it five stars: I will, too, not because I'm conformist, but because I can see it's very well-written, It is very period-specific-----medieval Europe, except with slightly different politics and magic added on top of it. A very enjoyable and laid-back read. And very good for people who like romance. I don't want to give any more away, so you'll have to read it for yourself! :) Good job and good luck."

Etiquette and Rules

"As this story begins, the author takes the time to outline the royal and nobleman rules and etiquette that must be followed, of which, every character strives to maintain the rules rather than risk breaking them. In the beginning, one does feel somewhat exhausted with the introduction of the rules as they are nothing original from the standard rules of nobility in the past, but make themselves prominent in a manner that one must pay attention in order to understand the characters. The beginning introduces Prince Nicky and his soon-to-be betrothed. Prince Nicky is but a child compared to his betrothed, but a secret well of mystery remains in him that coerces one to continue to read to experience all that can become of the potentially great prince. Throughout the story, Nicky is replaced by Nick, same person, just a slight change in name preference allows one to symbolically grow with Nick as he grows, taking on more responsibility, being looked up to, revered, as well as his betrothed. The central antagonist is rather grey and obscure as mainly a battle erupts between Nick and his people of the alliance against those that stand against the alliance. All-in-all, a wondrous world that captivates one entirely."

Captivating

"The art that this writer uses to express himself in his writing astounds me. The characters are realistic, humorous, and serious all at the same time. The dialogue is amazing! Aside from a few grammar mistakes... I personally think this is a charming read. It has you following through a fantasy plot that may remind you of a couple well-known fairy-tales. But that makes it a lot easier since I can compare differences. All in all great job so far!"

The intrigue was a great build up

"At first, it seemed a bit slow paced and many paragraphs a bit dense. Yet as I read further, I was pulled into the magic, mystery and could not stop reading. You do an excellent job with getting inside the heads of main characters Prince Nicky and Elizabeth. NO problem at all with any point of view shifts, which in and of itself shows great writing talent. I did not know who to feel worse for, Prince Nicky or Lady Elizabeth, but lean more reader compassion towards the Prince being so young and really robbed of his youth. I LOVE, the mother-son bond of his spirited mother and the magic entwining, such creative flair. I don't know if this was intentional, and hope not to be a spoiler---but I saw metaphors like a Hunger Games backdrop: the poor out hunting with bow and arrow, youth robbed of their childhood through forced oppression with either violence or marriage, the wagon and waving to the "cheering" crowd while they are all dressed up in glitter and "glory", the suppressive crown rule. I like it, and really appreciate the time you took to give me feedback on my novel, Masks of Morality. My novel is already in print and doing well on Amazon, yet I can still make changes and you provided GREAT advice. Thank you for that, and for sharing this amazing story!"

"Now, I have to say this is the last type of story I would read, I'm english so period dramas are played incessantly here and bore me to tears but even I liked this. The characters are likeable and believable and the world is effortlessly constructed, I can almost smell the wood and the food. I thought the writing was very high quality, this is something I would expect to read in print. The plot and the backstory is delivered very very well, I was expecting this to drag a little and be a slow burn but we get the plot rolling right after we set the scene with the house and their affairs. So right off the bat after the first chapter you have a great reason to turn the page because you want to find out what's wrong with the prince. It's a great way to start a story, you've met and like the characters and now are sprinkled with a little mystery and intrigue. I feel kind of silly giving you my zombie novel to review now, it pales in comparison to this, I should have had you look at my mystery thriller haha. I didn't notice any problems grammar and spelling wise, I don't really have much more to say about it, I pretty much made my mind up about it halfway through the first chapter, excellent work.
