Summary

The village calls it a neem tree. The forest knows it as blackthorn. Long ago, when the land still believed itself blessed, a woman named Mrignāyinī was brutalized and abandoned beneath its roots. Her cries were heard—and ignored. When she returned changed, carrying a calm sharpened by grief, the village named her a witch to excuse its silence. Death followed. Madness followed. And a curse took root, winding itself through bloodlines and births. Generations later, the tree still stands—familiar in shape, foreign in spirit. Each family bears its thorn. Rudrā Singh, descendant of the man who first wronged her, walks as if the past is buried. But the forest does not forget. And neither does Bhairavī—Mrignāyinī’s granddaughter—seventeen, restless, and unaware that the fire in her veins is inheritance, not imagination. When the blackthorn blooms beneath a full moon, denial fractures. No prayer can undo what was planted. The curse was never meant to destroy—it was meant to remember.

Thank you once again for stepping into Bhairavi’s world, where pain birthed power and silence became a storm.

Until the next tale,
