Summary

It’s supposed to be a summer of fun for Fawn and her sisters. But when they arrive at Camp Baby Deer, they quickly realize this isn’t just another camp. Last summer, a camper named Ingrid Adams was found dead under mysterious circumstances, and the camp has never been the same since. Now, as Fawn and her friends settle in, strange things begin to happen. At night, the woods seem too quiet. In the day, whispers float on the breeze. Fawn feels like someone—or something—is always watching. When she starts hearing stories from the other campers, she realizes there’s more to the camp’s history than she thought. Could there be a connection between Ingrid’s death and the eerie feeling hanging over Baby Deer? As the camp's past and present collide, Fawn must uncover the truth before the darkness gets even closer. But some secrets are buried for a reason.

Chapter 1

16th July, 2024.

11:09pm.

It was a dark and stormy night at Camp Baby Deer. All the campers were inside, so as all the councilers. Except one camper.

This camper was in charge of some of the younger girls though she had no idea why she had to keep an eye on the bed-wetters. Just because Camp Baby Deer is an exclusive girls-only camp for girls between the ages of 4-17.

The girl the question had been at the camp every year since she was ten. Mainly because her parents were on an adult's only cruise. She waited for when she was grown so that she could see what a cruise was like without any children.

Though she was not a child, she was fourteen. She was not an adult, just a teenager into puberty.

She looked at her watch. She could barely see from the rain pouring down her dreadlocks. Maybe she should use her glasses but she 'lost' them a few weeks ago during packing.

She heard the hut of 4-8 year olds. Some snores were heard. Not a cry, not a nightmare scream. It should be safe to leave now, she thought. She then trudged her way to the 14-16 year old cabin but as she went to open the door, it was locked.

"You have got to be kidding me." she muttered to herself as she then banged on the door,

"CARA, SOFIA, BRANDIE, OH IF IT'S ANOTHER PRANK PRINCESS THEN I AM SO GONNA GET Y-"

She then fell to the ground as a figure then dragged her away. The girl then screamed. What was going on, she thought as she was then thrown to the ground. She stopped screaming as she felt blood around her cheek.

I'll stitch it up using the first aid kit later, she thought to herself as she brushed the mud off her clothes as she then turned around.

Big mistake.

The last thing that the girl saw was big brown eyes, a knife, and red until the world became black.

Her body was found the next day by one of the thirteen-year-olds. She screamed when she was the body. Blood everywhere, limps chopped off. Eyes stabbed too. Face, smashed in.

The news had a field day. Many of the parents took their girls away from the camp almost at once. Some of the staff even left, saying that they rather not be part of a slasher movie.

The girl was identified a few hours later. 14 year old Ingrid Adams. Camper for the past four years.

But nobody knew what happened to that girl, that night. Who could have killed her?

Who could have done it, or what?

Maybe monsters do exist?
