Chapter 1

Theo’s my hot British boyfriend; the one who’s either at the gym, on the football pitch, or busy fucking me. We’ve known each other since our first day of uni, circling each other for years through late-night study sessions, inside jokes and a few too-long stares neither of us ever admitted to. Six months ago we finally moved in together, sharing an apartment with our best friends Min and his girlfriend Yuki, who had a habit of walking in at the worst possible times. But for once, they surprised us in a good way. After all the teasing and nosy questions, they pressed a small silver key into my hand with the biggest grin.

“Consider it our gift,” Min had said. “My uncle’s lakehouse, he’s away for the summer. It’s all yours for the weekend.”

The place had a name, too -- something old-fashioned and whimsical that was carved into a little wooden sign out front. ‘Maplewood Lakehouse’. It sounded like it belonged in a storybook, hidden away deep in the forest after a two-hour drive, the kind of place where the trees pressed close on either side of the road and the air felt quieter, thicker, like the world had forgotten it existed.

It was the kind of offer you couldn’t say no to. After weeks of lectures, exams, and the constant noise of sharing an apartment with roommates, Theo and I didn’t need much convincing. A break from the daily-life chaos sounded like exactly what we needed, just us, no interruptions, no schedules...just a real summer holiday, even if it was just for the weekend.

And that’s how we ended up here, driving down narrow roads lined with trees so tall they almost blocked out the sky. The air smelled different already; it was cleaner, sharper and tinged with pine. I glanced at Theo in the driver’s seat, his hand resting casually on the gearshift, his other drumming lightly on the wheel to some faint tune.

We’d only been dating for a few months, but it already felt like years. Maybe because we’d been friends first. Maybe because last night had changed something between us. Waking up wrapped around each other in our too-small apartment bed only made the idea of being tucked away together all weekend that much more tempting.

The road curved, and suddenly the trees broke open into a clearing, revealing a glimpse of a wide lake shimmering in the distance. Nestled near its edge was a two-story lakehouse with pale wooden siding, a stone chimney and a wraparound porch that looked like it had been waiting years just for the two of us.

“Maplewood Lakehouse,” Theo read off the sign as we rolled in on the narrow dirt road, soil kicking up behind the tires His smile tilted toward me. “Not bad, huh?”

I pressed the key tighter in my palm, excitement buzzing through me. “Not bad at all.”

----------------

The door creaked open like something from a movie. Inside, the lakehouse was exactly what I’d hoped: wood-paneled walls, big windows that let the sunlight pour in and a fireplace framed by worn stone. It smelled faintly of cedar and old books.

Theo whistled low, dropping our duffel bag by the door. “This is… insane. Min’s uncle just gave this to us for free?”

“Guess he doesn’t know us very well,” I teased, stepping inside. My hand brushed along a shelf stacked with mismatched mugs and old travel guides, then trailed across a pine table that looked like it had hosted a thousand summers before ours.

We did a slow lap together: past the kitchen, with its little basket of spices labeled in neat handwriting; past the wide glass doors that opened onto a deck overlooking the lake. Outside, a hammock was strung between two trees, gently swaying in the breeze like it was inviting us already.

Then we found the bedroom upstairs. A single, sprawling bed dominated the space; white sheets pulled crisp and tight, sunlight painting the walls golden. My mind jumped straight to how it would feel to have sex with Theo in this bed, with the whole forest outside listening in. Theo glanced back at me, grinning like he had something dirty planned for us instead.

----------------

We dumped our bags and sat out on the back porch for a while, just soaking in the quiet. Birds chirped somewhere in the trees, wings fluttering through the branches. The lake glittered under the sun, and the hammock swayed when Theo plopped into it with a laugh, dragging me half on top of him until I nearly tipped us both out.

“Don’t get too comfortable,” he said. “We’re swimming.”

I raised a brow. “Already? We literally just got here.”

“Exactly.” Theo pushed up, already tugging his shirt over his head, muscles catching the light. He dropped it on the railing, then kicked off his sneakers and jeans until he was standing there in just his underwear, smirking at me. “You coming, or do I have to drag you in?”

The water looked freezing, even under the August sun. But with him looking at me like that, there was no way I could say no. I stripped slower, folding my clothes in a neat pile, pretending I wasn’t stalling.

“Stop being such a grandpa,” Theo called, and then he ran straight off the dock and leapt into the lake with a splash that echoed through the trees.

By the time I slid into the water, hissing at the shock, he was already swimming toward me with that wild grin. He lunged, splashing me straight in the face.

“Asshole!” I shouted, shoving water back at him.

It turned into an all-out war, both of us laughing so hard I almost choked when he ducked under and tugged at my ankle. I dove after him and when I caught him beneath the surface, his hand brushed up my thigh right against the bulge in my soaked underwear.

I shot back up, coughing as lake water dripped down my face, but he surfaced right after me, hair plastered to his forehead, eyes sparkling with mischief. “What?” he asked, too innocent.

“You know what,” I muttered, heat flooding my chest that had nothing to do with the sun.

Theo floated closer through the water, still smirking, and I felt his hand slide under again, bold and teasing, grazing me through the clingy fabric. “Guess you don’t hate swimming so much now, huh?”

My cock stiffened instantly, the cold water was no match for the heat of his touch. I grabbed for him, meaning to shove him away, but he was already pressing in, chest to chest, his hands gripping my ass through my soaked underwear as his mouth crashed into mine.

The kiss was messy, wet, all tongue and teeth, both of us half-laughing, half-drowning in it. The lake rocked gently around us, but all I felt was him; his hands squeezing my ass tighter, pulling me against the bulge in his underwear straining between his legs. I kissed him back until I was breathless, until I wasn’t sure if the water dripping from my lips was lake or spit.

Eventually, we broke apart, panting, the moment so raw it left me dizzy. “We should probably… head in,” I murmured, though neither of us moved at first. Then, laughing again, we waded to the dock and climbed out, dripping onto the wood. We rushed across the deck, half-running, half-tripping over each other as we scrambled inside to find towels, still wet and buzzing with everything that had just happened.
