In The Gap
"I loved this story because it strengthened me. I remembered when I had to stand in the gap for my lil sister. I'll recommend this book to her. This story is God inspired "
Review
"I have really really love to read each chapter each day,it has impacted my spiritual life , like the importance of prayers and how to not let the devil win over us. I've loved the way each character played a significant role in the life of Tyler, even Charlie. Each chapter has brought a different emotion, and I like it when stories bring me different emotions. The story was well-defined. It has a good start and a (bit sad), but it's definitely a good ending. I will recommend this book to a person who has lost faith. Maybe it can help him/her to change the way he/she sees God. "

In The Gap
"This book is very well written and unlike any I've found on Inkett. It's a Good Christian thriller which is a rare find these days. I love the plot and the characters and the characters interactions with one another especially the siblings. The characters feel very raw and real and a person easily could get wrapped up in this story. In a good way;)"
In The Gap
"Well written story that with its twist and turns that provokes thinking of the here and after. Avery spiritual read that has so much to think about. The fishing trip and many other events had me going with its turns of events."

"I love the story, it's so original and different. I love the character development and the multiple viewpoints we get to see. Brilliant!!"
Intriguing and Vivid
"This was a very fascinating read and a great opening to a novel. The Biblical context gives an extra flavour to the story, elevating it into something more than just a regular high+school novel. The prose is concise and eloquent and reads very nicely. I love how you blend depictions of the setting together with depicting the protagonist's character. One becomes the means for another. The descriptions are very vivd and engage the senses and give you a very solid image/idea of the protagonist. The only the thing I could see that needs improving is you use 'desperate' and 'desperately' in the same, short, paragraph. It's towards the end of the chapter. Otherwise, great stuff."
A Spiritual Drama
"This story is one to make you think, move you to love, and give you a sense of urgency for the dying in this world. The author's writing style was very intriguing and really pulls you along in the story as you fall for the characters, pleading with Tyson that they would stop ruining their own lives and find life in Christ. Tyson himself is just too loving to be here; how his heart breaks for everyone, especially for his beloved brother and a blue-eyed girl. For Christians, read this book to remember why we're here. For non-Christians, read this book to understand why we are so crazy."
Must Read
"This story is an unconventional tale that beautifully combines horror/suspense and spirituality. The protagonist is a direct representation of what it is to be human and to be religious; acknowledging his imperfections while showing us that it's okay not to be perfect. It's interesting to see how Tyler perceives himself, and how we perceive him-- and how different the two of those concepts actually are. He sees himself as imperfect and lost and we see him as, yes, imperfect. but finding his way slowly but surely, despite all that he is dealing with. I love the fresh insight and depth that this story gives to what is is like to be Christian and I absolutely love the unique idea of adding a supernatural aspect to it. The plot is to die for. I think this is the type of story that the world needs. It's not like anything I've read before, especially works that have to do with religion. I can't wait to see what else you have in store. I am thoroughly appalled and impressed by your talent. 😊💞"
A Touching and Emotional Story of Faith
"A Touching and Emotional Story of Faith This was a powerful page-turner, with vivid dreams, nightmares, and visions. The plot builds with suspense and intrigue, keeping the reader engaged with well-crafted composition. The characters are realistic and natural - the reader can relate to the characters between the love triangles, college struggles, and tangles of ordinary life and the Christian faith. The main character's devotion is admirable. This novel held real horrors and true joys within it and was a pleasure to read. Engaging and enjoyable, this was an amazing story and readers and non-readers alike of the Christian genre will enjoy this."
In the gap
"In the gap seems to be derivative in fact seems to be all the horror stories we ever watched and it is the strength and the weakness of it. I mean I did like the character but found him not to my taste because felt nothing for his interests I do not know the reason I do care for them but they seem to be living in a film. Having seen so many movies one is not able to focus on the reality of a character and a situation which left me wandering when the end would come. This is only me I am only one reader."
In the Gap
"The blurb piqued my interest; I thought it was another supernatural/paranormal story that had nothing to do with spirituality, but I was pleasantly surprised honestly. Tyler's feelings of inadequacy about his task is something everyone can somewhat relate to, as well as Colton's and Carrie's doubts about Christianity. I am one myself, and reading about another's struggle and journey through their calling brings me hope for my future. All in all, it's an amazing story and I couldn't out my phone down at all. Definitely a new favourite of mine."
In the Gap
"This story is something out of the ordinary for me. I had never come across a plot like this until now. I truly enjoyed reading it and getting to feel some of the emotions that the writer expressed through his characters very well. The imagination of the writer is commendable and I think the characters that he portrayed in his story came across as well constructed. At the end of the story, though a poignant one, I felt the relief of the main character, Tyler, who I feel deserved the happiness of meeting his Redeemer after enduring much tests and pain. A very engaging and remarkable story."
Thrilling and Inspiring.
"What starts out as a typical experience at a Christian college quickly turns into a very visual experience as the reader is plunged into dreams and visions depicting the horrors that await those not under Christ's protection once they die. LMDietrich strikes a good balance between story flow and biblical content. Even when the story is touching on sensitive faith-based topics you never get the sense that it is trying to beat you over the head with a bible disguised as a thriller. As such the characters and their plight remains compelling throughout. All in all, it was an excellent read that kept me up, turning pages, far later into the night that I should have reasonably allowed."
Finding faith...
"LMDietrich has achieved so much more than creating a well-crafted book with In The Gap. This faith-based novel does an incredible job of engaging the reader with tight plot lines, romantic love triangles and supernatural elements that will undoubtedly entertain and satisfy a YA and older audience, but that is not its crowning achievement. In The Gap, while undoubtedly suited to a commercial market, takes the reader on an emotional and deeply personal journey. While joining Tyson on his quest to connect with God and redeem those closest to him, the reader cannot help but ponder his or her own life and contemplate the most important question we all ask ourselves. Am I making choices that are true to who I am? In The Gap is a christian novel and as such, allows the reader to delve deep into theological and spiritual themes. For readers who might be new to this genre, it provides a deeply engaging gateway to learning more about the Christian faith and the importance of prayer. That said, the book's paranormal aspects, which are presented in the form of dreams, combined with its authentic dialogue and realistic take on the life and challenges of youth adults, make for a dynamic, engaging and satisfying read for anyone who enjoys great fiction. LMDietrich has the makings of a highly successful and sought after author across the YA, christian, and modern fiction genres . Books like In The Gap are so important because they do more than tell a story. They pose some of the most important questions we can ever ask ourselves - and leave us no choice than to find the answers."
In the Gap
"This book provides interesting insights into the lives of people who believe strongly in the power of prayer. The main character, Tyler, is imperfect as he strives to be true to himself. What is wonderful about him as a character is that he never claims to be perfect. In fact, he tends to see himself as a fraud yet always striving. His visions and dreams are described vividly and one gets a true sense of the terror that he feels. Despite his terror, he continues to do what he is called to do. This book provides a powerful look at the forces of good and evil as they work in our lives. It also focuses on the power of prayer to heal and demonstrates how prayer can be a transforming force in our lives. The scene with Meredith at the park is particularly graphic and well-done. Descriptions throughout the book are strong. The author definitely has a sequel here."
In The Gap
"I think this is the best story I've read here on Inkitt! It's not the kind of story I usually read (mystery/ suspense), and I have to admit that some parts scared me. But all this thanks to the author, who makes us really imagine the scene as we read. Reading this story you can imagine everything as if you were there with the MC. Though they were fictional characters, I found myself rooting for them as I read. As if they really existed. I even cried! The characters were built beyond the physical, but in an intense psychological way. As you read, you will identify with them, and learn from them. The characters are real. I love the theme of your story. We are always so stuck in foolish novels, and your story made me think a lot about myself as a Christian. Your story makes us reflect on how we are acting in our life, and that the true purpose of all this is our salvation. And what made me think even more is that just like Tyler at the beginning of the story, we always think that person is saved (by accepting Christ as their savior), but many times they got lost in the middle and we don't realized that. Your story is excellent, just as your plot. Please keep writing. I need to read more of your stories!"
Pretty good
"This is a pretty good story, I don't typically read Christian stories, but i did enjoy this book about a young mans struggle with his own faith and I enjoyed it."
gripping
"engaging plot and excellent writing style which keeps you gripped. Well done!"
The best I have ever read
"Love it. A brilliant and captivating story. It brings home the absolute seriousness of our need to have a close and meaningful relationship with Christ and the destructiveness of living without Him. The graphic images portraying the nature of sin are gripping and compel us to see evil in it's true nature. This story touches my heart in a very special way."
