Daniella Christian
As she sat down at a table with the minister and his associates, she looked at the crowd of young and troubled teenagers. She then turned to the minister and couldn't help but smile. He had insisted that everybody needed to hear about Jesus, no matter who they were or the crimes they had committed. The minister was everywhere nowadays, televisions, podcasts, radios. Ever since he had been appointed into office, he had been determined to help all those who needed help and to fulfill all the promises he had made to them during his campaign. He visited orphans, prisons, donated food items and paid hospital bills also praying for those in critical conditions. He listened to stories told by prisoners and helped those who had been put behind bars unjustly. She thanked God for putting him at the right place and at the right time. He had listened to her speaking to the public about the word of God and ever since then, he had kept her by his side. He believed she was sent from above.
“And now, to introduce the person who will be speaking to us today. Miss Daniella Christian.”
The troubled youths in juvenile prison didn't even bother to give her an applause. Everybody wanted to be done with this and get back to their various activities. Daniella smiled as she got to the center of the stage and said a short prayer. She didn't preach because it was her talent. The lord had always told her what to say and he would do it again. As she look at them, she saw eyes filled with anger, hate and rage. But she also saw desperate souls crying out for help. Then she Began to speak.
“I know most of you have come from different homes with different backgrounds. Divorced parents, abusive parents, no parents at all. Some of you come from the streets where you were introduced to crime at an early age. Some of you have poor families who could barely feed and you resorted to whatever you could to feed your families.
Life has it's ups and downs, that's for sure. But at the end of the day, its how you handle your problems that matters. Sometimes we decide to hurt people,or say things to hurt them even when we know deep down it's wrong. Very few of us follow the way of the Lord. I'm not here to tell you today that I'm perfect. That at one stage in my life I didn't go astray or drift apart. I'm human, we all are. We make mistakes. But the very good news about all of this is that there's someone who's willing to take you into his arms no matter how many mistakes you've made, no matter how many crimes you've committed. His name is Jesus Christ”.
When the teenagers heard the name, they all groaned and began to murmur. Some began to shout at Daniella to go away, they had heard about it before. The guards had to intervene before they finally quieted down and Daniella was able to continue.
“Yes I know, you've heard about him before. You've prayed, you've asked, you've cried but nothing happened. To you, he's a fable, a legend that only exists in books and not in real life. But a legend doesn't die for you on the cross, a fable doesn't accept you no matter what you've done, a fairy tale doesn't love you the way he loves you. He payed the ultimate price so that you might have eternal life. He came down from above to die so that you might live. No legend comes close...”
The minister couldn't help but listen to Daniella although he had already been saved. When he had Been campaigning, he was at a lost point. He had everything, money, power, influence. But when he was with his family, he had nothing. When he was alone he was empty. That was until he heard Daniella one faithful day. He had been going to see the lawyers his wife had hired for the divorce. But listening to Daniella made him realize that he didn't have God and he didn't have love. How could he learn to love his wife when he didn't have the one who gave love to all?
He had been a hypocrite all this while. He came down from the car and had knelt down before the lord and gave his life to him. He took Daniella's contact and quickly drove to his wife. One last time he had begged for forgiveness and promised her he would be better. She had listened to him and within six months, the love they thought they never had came into their lives. The minister introduced Daniella to the family, gave her a well paying job and he was able to win the election. He thanked the Lord in his heart, very grateful that he had met Daniella, grateful that he had another chance to make life better for him, his family and for everyone around him.
By the end of Daniella's speech, most of the teenagers were in tears and when she asked those who wanted to repent to go down on their knees, everyone including the guards had knelt and they had all received Jesus that day.
After songs of worship and Thanksgiving, Bibles were shared and after a few words, Daniella and the minister left as they had other engagements.
“Thank you for the good work Dani. The Lord is really moving through you.”
“Thank God minister. I am nothing without him.”
“will you be over for dinner this evening? My daughter's boyfriend wants to propose to her and we would love for you to be there today.”
“but of course. I would never miss such a happy occasion. I'll be there by eight o'clock. Will that be fine?”
“that will be excellent. Your family is also invited. It's a thing of joy. One day it will be your turn too dani.”
Daniella had smiled and looked out the window to think about how far her life had come. Her family never had enough while she was growing up. She was never dressed properly no matter the weather. Her parents had only been dating and when her father found out her mother was pregnant, he quickly wanted to abort it. They had both eloped from home because they were in love but they couldn't afford to have children right now. Daniella's mother conscience couldn't allow her to kill her unborn child and she pleaded with him to try and make things work with the child.
When he saw that she still refused to listen to him, he packed his bags one morning and left back to his home. He claimed he was foolish and that she had led him astray. When her mother had tried to reach back to her family, they refused to accept a child born out of wedlock in their family and shut her out. She had been homeless for a couple of months barely surviving with the child in her stomach until one evening, she had collapsed in front of a local church. The pastor had seen her and rushed her to the hospital. She later regained consciousness and was informed that she would be having triplets instead of the one child she thought she would have.
She had cried and had contemplated suicide but the pastor had been quick to console her and bring her back to the church. They took her in and made sure she was taken care of until her delivery date.
When she eventually put to birth, she had two boys and a girl whom she named Daniel, David and Daniella. The church had taken care of everything that had to do with her and her children. They contributed and got her a home, food clothes and everything she would need in a house. Then she was able to get a job through the pastor. She worked and prayed every single day, thanking the lord for everything had given her.
One day she got an unexpected visit from an uncle she hadn't seen since she was a child. He apologized for not being there when she had desperately needed him and promised to do all he could to make things right. Thanking the church, she left with her uncle to the United kingdom. The children had been grown to fruitful men and women and she couldn't have been more grateful. When they eventually returned home, she had gotten married to the pastor who had saved her life and was a very happy woman.
Daniella knew she was here for a purpose and that one day, the lord would give her the man she was supposed to be with. Till then, she would focus on winning souls for him.
