My Reveiw

"Ok, so when I saw this book I was like hey it might be inspirational because that was what I was going for, but when I read this book I fell in love with it and will be reading the next one because like I never knew someone who is younger than me could ever write so astounding. I hope you can grow as a writer and write books as amazing as this, 10/10 would re-read again."

A captivating page-turner

"I loved the plots as well as the characterisation of characters in this story. I read it all at once as it was a page-turner. The storyline is unique and the summary was written well because it made readers want to read on instead of just adding the book to their reading list. I must applaud the author's creativity and talent for writing this awesome story. There were just a few grammatical and punctuation errors here and there. Other than that, five stars!"

A Psychological Horror with a Touch of Anime's Dark Vibe

"This is the type of movie I would love, but strangely not my favorite genre of books. As a Japanese Literature graduate, I am familiar with animes and Japanese comic books. From the references and your profile picture, I do believe that you are a fan, just like Elijah. I also feel this anime-ish vibe in your story. To be honest, I don't really like the Prologue, because I couldn't find the real connection between that man in the dream and the main story. (Or was it just me?) But as I read more, I couldn't help finding this story interesting enough for me to finish. Sometimes your characters' persistent traits were annoying, like Elijah's selflessness or Natsuki's curiosity. I knew characters had to be consistent, but character developments are important too. Sometimes I had to remind myself that they were only middle school students, so that they were not that mature enough to think of this and that. Despite of the ending that I HONESTLY LOVE, I do feel that you can strengthen your characters' background stories. For example, why did Elijah like animes? How was his relationship with his mother in general? Why did Natsuki have Japanese name? Maybe they didn't really matter, considering the ending (that I'm still trying to hide as I'm writing this review, although I am afraid my suggestion would be unclear), but it would be nice to get closer with the main characters. And it would make more twists with the dream/reality where they were different. You might want to work on the punctuation, especially commas. Also, you should use them by the end of quotations ending with full stops. "You should use commas by the end of this," I should have explained to you in the comment. And the word 'barley' is a name of grains. You must have meant 'barely'. Try re-reading your chapter before submitting it. Anyway, great job! Keep writing :) Regards, Kei Angelus"

Freaking amazing!

"I literally loved this book! It has such an amazing, fresh concept that you cannot not love it. It's fabulous! I like the plot, the storyline, the imaginative work and the characterization. Not to forget, unexpected twists and turns. When you start reading it, you feel like it's a typical book where weird things start happening to a normal person. But as you progress through the book, you realize how twisted it actually is. And what's great is, that the suspense factor has been maintained nicely throughout. You think you understand it for a moment, but the next moment you don't. And that's one of the many things why I like this book so much. When it comes to critisizm. I think there are somethings that I might want to point out. Like there are some obvious grammatical, contextual and punctuation errors, but you can easily spot them and clear them out if you go through the book a couple of times. Apart from this, I think you could've framed your sentences better. Like just twerk them a little and use some different words. I mean we know that scary and horrifc basically mean the same thing, but one of them creates a better impact. Also it would be great, if you could also add some more details. Not that it's not detailed currently. Just you know, add little descriptions of how others apart from Elijah feel, how things actually look and feel like. Also it seems kind of rushed, so you know slowing down and explaining things in a little detail would help. Overall, I just have one word for this book: Stupendous! Kudos to the author and his/her/their imagination : )"

A nice psychology thriller

"While some people would complain about the sudden shift of emotions, I found it to be quite realistic because the protagonist was grappling with two things: loss of his father and his nightmares. The protagonist's moody and volatile demeanor represents a person grappling with intense loss while at the same time trying to go back to normal. The "supernatural" adds a nice touch to it as the world is slowly representing what he wished in his own mind. It's a good read for those who want something supernatural which isn't all screaming and running away from demons."

"To be honest, I felt like I was running a race in the first chapter as it was very fast paced. However, the story gives a new taste of thrilling. Just few works on your grammars then it's a smooth ride. Keep the good work going! 🌼"

"Your punctuation isn't all that good, and in the case of 'woman's', you used 'women's'. Re read it and let go of unnecessary punctuation while adding necessary ones. "

In the Mind Review

"In the Mind is a really good story for those who like horror and thriller. The plot moves a bit too quickly, especially in the first couple chapters and there isn't much emotion about the character's decision and experiences. The paragraphs are really long and when reading on a screen-- it can be hard to follow. So, my suggestions to the author are to shorten or separate chapters, get into the character's mind and try using metaphors/similes to engage your audience. Your book cover and title was really eye catching and one of the reasons why I clicked on it. Try writing a summary as well. Hope that helps and this book has some serious potential! :) -Ashu."

Like The Idea

"Your ideas are all in order. I like the fact that it is all in a dream, and I overall like the concept. You do however, need to review your work more efficiently. Such as the few moments with errors like extremely long sentences and such. I would work on the grammatical form of the entire story along with the writing style. The writing style you have chosen works, but needs help. A few moments I was very confused as to what was happening in the story, giving me a sort of dislike. When writing, yes you want the reader to figure out what exactly you are trying to portray, however, do not do this to the extent that you confuse the reader. This happened a litle bit to me. Fix some of the writing and the few minor grammatical errors and this will be a very interesting story!"

In the mind

"Hi, good story, but would need some tweaking. The issues I found were: *in the sentence structure *word echos *some punctuation mistakes here and there (mostly commas needed to break the sentence) *passive voice. Good things *Setting and theme *Prose (after you have worked on structuring it well of course, I see a potential) *concept (from the summary) Your summary was spot on, but the ease of flow is what is lacking in the chapter. I think it can be corrected with some revision and you are good to go. All the best."

Interesting

"I kind of found it hard to really get pulled in at first. It has great potential if you can clean it up just a bit and watch the flow or reading. The ease of flow can be the difference between good and great. I love the idea and the summary is what really drew me into checking out the story. Keep it up and work on the flow and you could really make it truly a must read."

My take on In My Mind

"Honestly, the plot is great and it has a whole lot of potential; however, the downside of this is the fluidity of the paragraphs in each chapter and some grammar errors here and there. Punctuation wasn't really followed for some, but this did not really bother me much in terms of the reading. I feel that with some editing and some more effort in adding more descriptions (perhaps using other terms/synonyms to describe what's going on may help in altering this into a better-written story!) Overall, the plot keeps you on your toes and will leave you wondering what'll happen next! Keep writing! and God bless! :D"
